- Doing jump boxes is a valuable movement for being explosiveness and training type II and II x fibers also know as fast twitch muscle fibers. It is also a method for getting some good anaerobic training in during a solid training session. Traditional wooden jump boxes tend to have a catastrophic effect if you miss a jump so companies like RitFit Sports have developed soft sided options.

THE FUTURE OF PLYO-BOXES! | Rit-Fit Sports Soft Jump Box | Affordable Garage Gym Equipment Review

When I was with the Chicago Bulls we develop those boxers in the late 80s with a company named Crown Mats Out of Barrington Illinois.
Do you remember what filler was used in those ones?
@@TheKurtlocker They used some type of foam. They made a lot of different gymnastics equipment. They also make a lot of training stuff for the police departments. A great company to work with
Great review. The foam on the inside looks similar to the foam used in some bow targets. So if it gets to soft for a jump box it can be recycled as a bow target. Haha.
There we go! Now that’s forward thinking.
Thanks for the video. I have a smaller Titan jump box and like it. Always appreciate your honesty in reviewing products and mentioning shortcomings, concerns, etc.
Thank you. This box had a bit of one but overall is probably not a terrible purchase. Very similar to the titan one
Now you will have to review ucs G2 stackable height with velcro! The OG of soft plyo
I’m very interested in the stackable versions. My kiddos would love them as well. Thanks for the reference. Looking them up now.
Pretty good review. I would assume the bag is so you can use a vacuum to remove the air in the foam so it's easier to wrap.
Honestly I have no idea. Maybe waterproofing or maybe even a mistake in assembly. Maybe it was to reduce size when assembling.
Nearly got to the end of the review and started typing ‘wish there was a wooden one that came with soft sides’ and then you showed the roobox one.. haha.
The Roobox is a beaut
Thank you for showing us what's inside it...I think it's cheaper to procure foam and then wrap it with PU or Nylon cover. What's your view??
Not a terrible idea but the foam can be expensive.
I'm saving up for the abmat box.
That’s a good goal and an awesome looking box. I support you in this endeavor
Single stitching def. stinks for long term use. I find the 24 - 20 -16 to be a good size that is easier to move around (since there's no handle opening, like in a wooden plyo).
Easier to move around but then I’m not getting my 30” jumps! Ha
@@TheKurtlocker if I jump to 30 inches my head hits the ceiling, time to turn the garage into a garage gym
Just make a really small hole for your head to go in when you jump! I’ll stop being unhelpful
@@TheKurtlocker love that kind of thinking but my wife well....not so much
Bwahahaha
I have the 60lbs but I hate moving it around, too heavy:( I wonder how stable the 16lbs is?? Probably supper easy to move around:)
Not sure. It is unfortunate that there is such a sacrifice for stability with some lighter boxes
Its not big enough or tall enough
Fair enough but I wouldn't have space for anything bigger
