Being a guy who never used a sewing machine, I've hand sewed all my stuff. I've been watching all these videos on these Chinese made machines because they are so cheap. Your videos showing how these things work are great. Thanks.
Also thanks I made a guide with a magnet and aluminum base, but the magnet is much further away. Ill keep this in mind, saving people lots of frustration ... Thanks again.
Yes, you know the theory of placing the magnet guide away from the metal bobbin to avoid the magnetic attraction. This is a good alternative in using the magnetic guide. Thanks for giving me this valuable feedback.
Mr. Lam, you are a marvel!!!! THANK YOU. You go to great lengths to make this machine acceptable and I appreciate it. One request. Can you make a video on how to use the "foot adjustment screw" and the "stitch length screw? Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching. The stitch length screw is just a turn right and left action. Need no skills to use it. The effect is just immediate shown on the stitch length when turning a bit right or left. Is "foot adjustment screw" the screw attached with strong springs? This is for giving pressure to fix fabrics being sewn. Thicker fabrics need stronger pressure to fix them on the needle plate so that no wobbles happen. Again this needs just a turning to see the effects.
Your videos are excellent and very helpful. Subscribed. My machine worked perfectly when it arrived however the parts were rough and it was filled with machining residue. I took it completely apart, polished, greased, oiled, and reassembled it. It runs smoother but it leaves little loops on the underside, does not pull the lockstitch into the center of the leather. The bobbin thread is properly centered in the middle of each loop. The top surface shows perfect stitches. It seems to be not completing the stitch after the walking foot moves forward, releases, comes down, and the needle moves up to pull the stitch tight. I have increased the tension on the needle thread until it is breaking the thread but still get the loops on the underside. I would appreciate if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks again or making such informative videos.
2 steps to check: 1. the bobbin thread too tight. Lossen the little screw on the flap of the bobbin. 2. The top thread too loose. Tighten the tensioner. Trial by errors, easy to sort out. Also make sure the top thread path from the thread spool to the needle bar is free from any obstacles.
Thanks for the video and I went to the sites mentioned but can not find the right size as ours.Any other specific site to help locate them would be appreciated Thanks
I bought all these from Taobao, an e-shopping platform in China. If you live in USA, check the Aliexpress or ebay for the vendors. Aliexpress belongs to Alibaba, the same company controlling Taobao.
It shows how the magnetic guide helps sewing straight. The ending part of the film did show you how it worked. You need to own a Chinese leather shoe patcher first and then you will know what this film talked about.
I bought them from "TaoBao", a Chinese e-platform. Perhaps you can find them from Aliexpress, asking them whether the bobbins are made of aluminum. If you don't need the seam guide, don't bother to buy these aluminum bobbins.
I bought them from Chinese e-shop, the link is as follows : ruclips.net/user/redirect?event=comments&redir_token=QUFFLUhqazNxc2pPTDhRTFQzZmlKLUlUa0pGNEZhLWN5QXxBQ3Jtc0trTnZkYzdTcUhNMGxLNGhwempxNzQ0MWh0S1RTRDl3a0M4NHFfTVFnMklGN1RYX2ZLa21WREZyUk9TUVFtNDY5bkdwMERDTF94MTJEb3pVaHZud1pORDZPN3p2RkxFQjR0VXhpb2tZNV9uWk4xQmdvdw&q=https%3A%2F%2Fitem.taobao.com%2Fitem.htm%3Fspm%3Da1z10.5-c-s.w4002-16115355381.42.24505c5alakYoy%26id%3D529266903125&stzid=UgzhtghmsSJReN5S1TB4AaABAg.9NLmPx0AHcJ9NM7cKLc7Fr

I bought these from vendors in China. Most of them sell metallic bobbins. I bought the aluminium ones by chance. If you can sew straight after a period of time then need not care about metallic or aluminium. So more practice would help.

Thank you! Good information. Your idea of clear plate over bobbin allowed me to fix my timing.
Happy to see it helped you to solve the timing problem. Keep on using it for more DIY projects.

The magnetic guide is available on the eBay or Amazon. Just search for it. It is however difficult to buy the aluminium bobbins now.
