    Ya know i thought the same thing about the turntable keeping things heated evenly. But i took mine out yesterday because it stutters sometimes causing my top pieces to slide. And they all heated evenly! I was so surprised! Now granted i an using an expensive 5 in one microwave so I'm not sure if that's why but give it shot!

    Great video, very informative & you were very good at your presentation. Many youTube video are not very good, and no matter how good the presentation is, if the presenter is not, the watcher will turn it off before it is done. Good job

    Thank you for a great video !! Can I ask a question please, I’ve only just got into this and I dived in and bought a large MWK working area 11cm. I have a 900 w microwave but never have I had a glow like you got, is my kiln too large ?
    P.S. I wish I lived in Devon as I’d be at your classes !!

      Hi Marion. With the large mins they can take a while. I have a 700w micro. I do 8 mins at 350, 8 mins at 500 then a couple mins in full but keep an eye to see how it's going. You just carry on in 1 min bursts until finished X thank you for watching!

    what is the largest piece you can do in a microwave kiln?

    • @corrinethorneglassartist
      @corrinethorneglassartist  18 дней назад

      Hi. I have 3 different sizes of kilns. The largest one I do pieces about 3inches. What ever the size of the base is I would always leave at least a cm around the edge. You'll need to adjust that if your glass is higher than 6mm as it will spread out as itel melts.

    Nice Tutorial my only concern is you seem to be doing this in your kitchen . Should you not advocate the use of a dedicated microwave?

    • @corrinethorneglassartist
      @corrinethorneglassartist  3 года назад +1

      I was doing it in my kitchen but have 2 microwaves, a separate microwave in there. Now I have a studio which is great.
