Coney reacts to the video "How Melee's Biggest Cheater Was Caught" by Lil Homie, which is about how a Pichu player was able to exploit Super Smash Bros. Melee by using a nefarious trick in order to gain a huge advantage over other players by picking the right character, color scheme, and controller port.

The funniest part is that if he wanted to play a buffed version of Pichu, they put one in the game. It's called Pikachu.

no the idea is he wanted to cheat and picked the character no one would actually play and then added a button combo
Chaos was actually known by his community to be a cheater in other games which is why its shocking to me it took so long to become suspicious.
It's surprising how long the Pichu player got away with doing what they did before getting caught.
Would been suspicious that they were doing so well and only so well on their own console and no one elses.
I mean you need to consider that rhis was the first time a player got caught doing this.
It was entirely possible but its the same thing as not locking your door and thinking "yeah no one will ever enter my house unprompted" they had a rule against it but no one expected this to ever happen

His locals was likely filled with doc kids. My locals top player had a legit Pichu. This guy only cheated because nobody knew or even picked up a low tier alt.
The difference between the Professor Pro Fox clip and Pichu is that everybody and their mom knows Fox. They know all his data. So in a Fox v Fox it's easier to see when something is up because Fox v Fox has been played forever. Who the fuck knows anything about Pichu? He's a shit tier character that nobody plays so you don't learn anything about him, both actively or passively. It's still crazy how confident Prof Pro was but it's more understandable to have that info known.
Legit question because I'm fairly uninformed on melee. What happened with the Fox v Fox clip? Like I can't tell what was wrong.
@@anthonyrodriguez9232from what I can tell the hitbox was modded to be bigger than intended so fox had more hit range than usual.

@@anthonyrodriguez9232I know I'm super late, but fox's shine should've sent him into tuble or basically semi spike him, because its an attack with fized knockback it always does the same, but in that clip, shine didn't put fox into tumble, which means the knockback value was lower (eg. 0.9 instead of 1.0)

It is so fucking funny that he had the utter audacity to make Pichu FSmash kill at 18 percent like that. Like I hate cheaters and all but that is SO fucking funny.
What's funny is that the rogue like platform fighter Coney was saying actually exists as a 2D fighting game called 52Beatup which is the same concept but both players choose between three random buffs/nerfs with the loser of the round choosing first and it's first to 5 round wins

He was known to cheat in fps games like CoD too. He was just not an honest dude. He was a teenager though so he could be a better man right now
As to the professor pro clip: Fox's shine ALWAYS knocks down in the ditto. And given that it is the most common matchup and shine is a very common move, every fox player should know somethings not right.
I think going "check that disc" is something you would only say in the world where it's on your mind that something could be wrong with setups in the first place

I dont believe for a second that this guy saw some hidden potential in Pichu or whatever. He just wanted to cheat and either never get caught and recieve the clout that comes from "omg this guy's winning with a low tier" shit or he gets caught and lives on in infamy as "that guy who cheated to win with Pichu"

I feel like the smart thing to do would be to find a way to mod a gamecube controller to infect the hosts copy of melee with the cheats, that similarly could only be accessed through a specific port, skin, and button combo. That way all you would have to do is keep the controller in your bag, and if they check the SD card of the person's switch and see the mods, you can just point out that its not your wii or SD card and deflect blame. Who knows if its possible but it would be funny
That would require a method to use ACE using only a single controller port, no such method exists to my knowledge...

The cheating series would be fun if you could eventually collab with other streamers. There are channels that do "spectating" videos on cheaters

* I believe in my main's potential more than anyone else
* I've been playing for almost 2 years and putting a lot of work for no results
* I live in an unremarkable region

The lesson here is if the player begs every time to play on there setup/console, there most likely a cheater or these competitions need to check the people’s setups .
on top 100 thing, I think it's like every year the skill gaps get bigger, and people want to have some sort of trophy or moniker, so they put top 100 on a bigger and bigger pedestal for the feeling. We might see a top 500 at some point for that reason.
