Hats off my fellow gaming traveler. You have mastered the new Zelda in one week!!! 🍺 🍺 Also I might add this new Zelda is so much fun and possibly in my top 5 Zelda games Nintendo has made.
When I got it in my playthrough I laughed because of the gag of being able to copy anything. The first speedrun I saw I was weirded out because they took it, I even thought it was an accident... followed by me being flabbergasted at them breaking the game.
Just beat the game yesterday, I cannot believe that at no point did I think to stack beds on top of each other like that. Also being able to stand on people in the still world blows my mind
Imagine being Ganon (well, the dark echo of Ganon) at the beginning of the game, ready for your fated encounter with Link, and he just blows you up before you can even make a move 😂 nice run
I’m surprised it isn’t faster to skip the first cave, even with the extra time to get tree. Is there a void out or is it just that slow? Edit: or is my speedrun strat I found and assumed someone else had already found actually new
Out of curiosity, if the bed is at world height limit, how do you jump on it without voiding out? I’ve been trying the glitch for my casual speedrun and can’t seem to get the sign down in time
The void is not an even geometry, instead it has different heights depending on which part of the grid you look at. This means you have to be at a very specific spot when trying to do this trick - in this case, for this exact setup that I used, you can only stand on the left side of the bed, as crossing the middle part will trigger the void. So I would suggest trying to be more left when jumping onto the bed. You can think of it like a sloped roof; you can stand under it (left side of the bed), but if you walk more and more towards the slope, your head will eventually hit the ceiling (void, right side of the bed). As a side note, for this setup it's also important that the object is dropped when it's in the air, so that it snaps towards the correct position on the grid. There are better setups now that don't need to do that, though.
We don't really have access to anything else. Most echoes are pretty out of the way, and the urchins are surprisingly OP. Still, people sometimes get the peahat and different routes get the Darknut which are really helpful, but this route can't get them. Even getting the Srandtula loses time, ideally you would skip it, but it helps too much in the fight so I didn't want to skip it yet.
Wish I knew how some of these glitches work, I can see how you're doing them, but I want to try and speedrun myself but I can't if I do the glitches wrong and don't understand what I did wrong and why it didn't work the way I see it play out I also don't understand how you killed Null in the water section of the fight
At the end of the video credits where it shows the wand inside a frame, next to it is a photo of a seemingly random part of somewhere in Hyrule with a white flower below it, makes me think it's some hidden clue to finding something. Find the area where the photo was taken and look for white flowers perhaps 🤔 - just seems odd that Zelda would have such a generic boring image on her bedroom wall. Things like this in Nintendo games makes me think is it a clue to something or just me and my imagination wishing for some super secret hidden treasure in a game lol. Reminds me of the "L is real" sign in Mario 64, good times.
Rope spidey was way too helpful to me (I wandered too much early game and ended up starting story from the mountain and went to the sea) and never noticed that little boy is an invincible tank 😂 wonder why the monsters can't flip him though
If you void out and read a sign at the same time you glitch the game. You void out at certain heights depending on the location. The glitch is mainly that you can have 2 windows/menus open at the same time, or move around while having a menu open. You then use this to warp to a specific location from within a certain map/layer, which results in the game "misinterpreting" that as "warp to end game location". I don't know if this is actual technical reason, but here's one possible explanation: There's 3 layers of maps: Overworld, Subworld, Dungeons. Since you teleport to an overworld location (let's say id 5), but you most recently opened a Subworld map, the game instead goes to Subworld 5 - which happens to be the end game.
It appears it's actually an autoscroller disguised as a boss fight, you just need to last long enough then do any amount of damage to get to the next phase.
Yeah, that is mostly correct. If I understand it correctly, the boss actually still has health, and if you damage it fast enough, you can kill it before it reaches the end of the section. After a certain point (the big pillar coming from the ceiling), the game automatically drops the Boss' health to 1, which is why it dies after just one urchin hit in the speedrun. I'm not sure if any category will be able to deal enough damage before it reaches that point, but we'll see.

For sure the best one in the past decade
The sign is completely useless to most players. Crazy how it breaks the game like this.

It’s not misplaced shadows, they’re floating. He said in another comment it’s a side effect of the glitch.

Aren't there better enemies's echoes to use against the final boss?

@ToadsWoot skipping tula saves like 20 seconds. Its barely worth the difficulty increase for now.

How does the sign/warp thing work? Why did you have to stack up high?

@ConnorVide not true. Every game also has various glitchless categories and often these are more popular than the any% unredtricted category.
So you can't use glitches to speedrun? Since when? LOL. That's exactly what a speedrun is! Using glitches to get to the end as quick as possible.
