Thank you Brian for posting this video. Everything is so detailed. I just replaced my manifold with your video on my side. PERFECT. The only problem I had was when putting the new manifold in the gaskets came off. I did glue them on and was able to put it in without loosing the gaskets THANK YOU

I am in the process of doing this.
Got the manifold out today, tomorrow the new one will be installed.
I, of course, forgot the disco the battery and the car was beeping after I was done for the day, telling me to take it to the shop ASAP and not shift it haha...no ECU I am sure it was freaking out.
Hopefully that won't cause any issues, I will disconnect the battery tomorrow before install.

I’ll bet, if you leave the tumbler flap position sensors unplugged, you’ll get 2 secondary air trouble codes. Don’t ask how I know. 🤪

Thank you so much for this video. I was able to DIY my intake manifold on my 2006 Mercedes-Benz ml350. The car was limp mode prior to repair but it is out limp mode after the intake manifold replacement. Your video was my guide. Thank you!

    Hi,
I just followed your instruction to change the intake manifold on a 2010 ML350. I put a brand in intake, cleaned the fuel injectors and repacked crank shaft oil drip cover. Now when I start the car gas is leaking from the injectors and it hard to start the car. What could have I have missed to plug back in?

    • @HowtoAutomotive
      @HowtoAutomotive  4 года назад

Maaz Awan The injector O-rings must’ve got pinched going back in. You’ll have to order new O-rings

Thanks for your reply. I did find one injector in cylinder one, which was not installed properly and top seal was leaking. I fixed it, the issue now I am getting is multiple misfire. Is it possible, that all injector seals are leaking air and causing random misfires? I did not put new seals yet. I did clean the injectors with intake manifold cleaning spray. Cleaned around and the tip of the injectors. Do you think maybe cleaning solution damaged all do the injectors? Or maybe old seals are causing air leaks in a new manifold.

Young Mack you can order new plugs for them and wire it in. Not too difficult or you could just try to make it reattach with something creative.

All of that work (and money) because of some plastic doodad broke inside the manifold.

When replacing the oil separator cover, I'm seeing recommendation to replace the Crankcase Breather Oil Separator that lies behind the cover (p/n 2730100162). It attaches to the intake cam with a reverse threaded bolt. When do you find that necessary to do?

You make it look so easy! I changed out my PCV valve and cam caps on my E550 and it look 4 hrs! For some reason the 4 bolts on the valve weren't torx, they were hex. Getting an Allen key behind the motor was a nightmare....

Hi, I hope you still read this. I have 2008 ml350 and i need help with the following issues:
    1. White smoke from exhaust started today, lot of it plus heavy gas smell.
    2. I watched many youtube videos and many mention:
    a. fuel pressure regulator. Does this ml350 has one and where may it be?
    b. fuel tank pressure sensor. Where it it at?
    c. air / oil separator.
    d. crank case oil separator.
3.before this white smoke issue, had hard time to start the cat when the engine is at operating temp. Is ECT lying. It start and run just fine when cool down.
    4. I recently replaced oil mobil1 0-40w, crankshaft pos sensor, 4 camshaft pos sensors, and 4 cam adjuster magnets. trying to address the hot start issue.
    Thanks for the infos.

I put everything back together. The car starts but has no power i put rhe pedal all the way down it does not rev. I know the sensor by tye throttle was a bit loose (not rhe tps sensor). Its a plug that's under the maf bsck of engine.
