Guardian Legend is the game I look back on most fondly. This is an absolutely killer list. It explains why I gave even more time to these games than may have been justified. The music man! My new favorite channel. Should have subscribed when I was born but I've fixed it now.
The Guardian Legend. Always like seeing it brought up. This has to be one of the most under appreciated, obscure nes games out there. And its one of the absolute best the NES has to offer.
Bloody Tears is a big favorite of mine from the series. It's up there with Aquarius, Theme of Simon Belmont (Super Castlevania 4), Iron Blue Intention, Don't Wait Until Night + Heart of Fire, Overture, Vampire Killer, Banquet of Madness, Dance of Illusions, and Sorrow's Distortion.
So I have a bunch of stuff to say. I subscribed because I love your videos and you actually meaningfully interact with us. I know that will slow down quite a bit as you get more comments and followers, but it means a lot to me. Second. I got my Amazon Music Wrap. Top artists. Metallica, Megadeth, Eminem. Top genre, other. Turns out that's my video game music. So having your video was a welcome edition compared to the "Here are the top 10 worst/best/must try games." Especially when i am washing dishes. Especially Blaster Master and Metroid. Those two alone take up a good chunk of my music. I even got the Metroid vinyl record on pre-order when it was announced. I have it in electrostatic packaging and play it every now and then. My prized album, even over my Metallica ones. Third. Honorable mention. Literally all the Final Fantasy music. Nobuo Uematsu is my all time favorite artist. His music just hits right for what is going on in the game. Lastly. If anyone knows of a metal/rock version of Great Palace from Zelda 2, please let me know. I have seen RUclips videos, but nothing on Amazon. It is my all time favorite theme. Looking forward to your next video.
If I slow down my interaction with anyone, I'd like you to be the first person to come kick me in the dick Anthony, because if that happens, it means I've lost the flame that made me do all of this in the first place. I will say there are some badass random records out there, one of my favorites is a mariachi cover of Animal Crossing music lmfao.
What an incredible and very informative video!!! You rock man!!! Thanks for all the insightful content and history all behind it!! I’m subscribing for life because you do this just like a documentary and I’m a sucker for documentaries 🤩. Thank you 🙏
Hey, Indeed, the NES have such an amazing sound track, thanks for that was fun to listen to! Also, did like you note on each one too, was interesting to learn more!
Oh man The Guardian Legend is such an awesome game! Still have never beaten it. Even when using the TGL code. Great to see other classics like Castlevania II (Bloody Tears is iconic) on here. Good list!
I don't know squat about music, but for some reason I got it into my head that if someone made a salsa version of Mega Man 3's Gemini Man Theme it would be a banger.
Takashi Tateishi, Kouji Murata, Yasuaki Fujita, and Yuko Takehara (also contributed for Mega Man X) have got to be the best Mega Man composers on the NES and Game Boy. Although Harumi Fujita's involvement with MM3 shouldn't be forgotten either.
I think people disliking of Castlevania 2 is similar to when Legend of Zelda 2 The Adventures of Link that is was so drastically different from the first title that is was just weird to fans of the first games gameplay style.
yes, THAT and the overall cryptic nature of the game. like James said, there aint no way i would've known to kneel at a dead end holding a crystal without a Strategy Guide. honestly, Nintendo MADE kids hate CV2, just so they could get more kids subscribed to Nintendo Power.
The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II had epic-slapping soundtracks...both of them. P.S. TMNT III: The Manhattan Project has my favorite NES soundtrack...so mamy great songs.
Man, you’re not too fond of games like Blaster Master and Metroid? 😳 Have you suffered any concussions lately? Please don’t tell me you would rather play The Little Mermaid. 🤣😝 Outstanding video my friend! 💪👍
A video full of Nes bangers? Yes please! Imo the Nes has some of the best sounding video game music. Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest is actually my favorite of the Nes trilogy. Mega Man 4 is def the best MM on the Nes, I mean Skull Man nuff said but also Cossack stage 3 and The stage before you fight Wily the final time that has the Robot Masters rematches is peak Imo. Ninja Gaiden 1 is tough! I've only ever got to the Jaquio fight, never can beat him. I beat NG2 though, and NG3's limited continues makes that one impossible for me. I'm not exactly the best at Platformers. XD
my favorite NES soundtrack of all time is GODZILLA: Monster of Monsters (Yes I know how many people hate that game. Chock full of sprite flicker and slow-down, IDC I still enjoy that game anyway)
i wouldnt say that James (AVGN) was being mean, at least not without reason. i myself totally see his issues and i agree, but i still like the game. we've just been able to enjoy CV2 more than he did, and that's fair. i also prefer the Metroidvania CV titles over what James prefers to that end.
This was a great video, still has tons of more facts too, like I believe that the mega man contest had a winner who created dustman, and pretty sure he is the creator of one punch man

I appreciate that! Welcome home!
So glad to see Blaster Master on this list. I was ass at the game but could listen to the music indefinitely. Great video!
Yeah it kicked my ass too. I wish they would have given infinite lives. It just made more sense to me.
Blaster master has always been one of my favorites, that first song is just a banger.
And the cut from the song into the main action is such a badass transition.
Nice to see Guardian Legend getting some love. Wildly underrated nes game
Incredibly underrated!
@@garytokar3522 Top 5 easily. The Famicom release came with a felt poster of Naju.
OH THAT'S COOL AS HELL.
Won't lie Bloody Tears gets me harder than woodpecker lips
Oh hell yeah bröther
I love all the bonus fun facts in this video!
I'm glad you enjoy them :)
Btw, Bolero was going to be public domain about a month later when Kondo came up with the iconic theme. 😮
Yuppppp sure was. I wanted to fit that in but I have limited characters.
Aww. 😞
We do what we can with the space we have :P

That's a medley from the heavens!
Holy moly, what a banger list! Magnet Man from MM3 is one of my favorites. And TGL is just amazing. This vid is so well done. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
All these tunes sure remind me of my brother who introduced me to the NES many many years ago, RIP big bro
💚

Ninja Gaiden 2 also had a pretty strong soundtrack.
I agree!

Great video! I just replayed Metroid II last week... hope you enjoy it once you get around to it
Eh, I'll try my best lmfao.
@@Fortefyre play AM2R - it's the best metroid 2 experience
I do want to give the native one a try, but I'll bear that in mind.
Bloody Tears is top 10 music on the NES
I could see that, it's top 10 in all themes ever for me :P
Love this video!! a little history on the composers and get to enjoy some well and not so well NES tunes
Absolutely :)
Mega Man 2 and 3,Castlevania 3:Dracula's Curse,Super C,Blaster Master,Journey to Silluis are some of my favorite NES soundtracks.
Great choices Mike!

I love nes videogames music.
Me too!

Absolutely, I want to say she did like 3 songs before she had to leave to give birth.
Oh great, a list of 10 more Sunsoft games! :3
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nintendo Power the game lol
@@mrviperx802 i really enjoyed Zelda 2. But i get why some folks were upset by it's departure from the top down dungeon crawler style.
Great list!
Glad you think so!

ABSOLUTE GREMLIN LMFAO.
glad u put Castlevania 3 in this time around, it's got some of the best tracks on the nes even if the game is hard as balls
Absolutely!
I miss the old box art for games like LifeForce. So 80s.
Same!

While MM4's soundtrack isn't a favorite of mine from the series, Cossack stage 3 is dang good.
I still need to play NG2!
@@Fortefyre Do it! Imo it's MUCH better than the first one.
