Great tips. Please do a video for us 70 year olds and under eye concealer . I think most of us have a crease problem . I have quit wearing it due to the creasing. Love your videos. And your brushes . Happy Thanksgiving Lisa
You ar so right about under eye crass. I am 70 also, and really don't have a problem w foundation creasing (I use Wet n Wild Tinted Hydration for everyday and the one u held up (Infallable) with ELF loose powder pressed in w sponge. The under eye area not so much! Going to ty using the dump sponge trick..thx!
Hi Lisa. I appreciate the tips you share, and, as a 70+ year old woman who has worn makeup since my teenage years, thought I would share another tip for how my foundation lasts and looks flawless all day; I mix a small drop of my Estée Lauder primer with about 2-3 drops of my Haus Labs foundation and then apply with my BK beauty foundation brush. No settling at all in my fine lines!
I’m 50 and when I started watching you I had no idea how much your technic would make a difference in my foundation application. Press and buff is the way to go, I do still use a sponge when needed. Also less is more on aging skin, it makes a huge difference in my makeup. So much better, thank you
I’m getting more and more wrinkly (aren’t we all?!) and I also find I am using less foundation than when I was smooth skinned. It just looks better especially under my eyes. Thanks for your videos. Love them
Less is more for sure. I sit and watch TikTok live in the evening and I’m always flabbergasted at the amount of product people use! I can’t imagine what these folks look like up close.
Fabulous tips thank you for this video. I have very dry skin and have not found a foundation that looks decent on my skin yet. I moisturize 2 times daily and still very dry, maybe someday.
Great tips, Lisa. I truly believe as you do that people don't let their serums, moisturizers, and sunscreen dry down before going in with foundation. Then, they over apply. You can always add, but you can't subtract. Thank you ever so much! 😊❤❤
I've already adopted the tip of "using less product". You had mentioned this in a vid ages ago, do I just had to try it. I was amazed at the difference it made - not just in how the foundation looked, but also how easy it was to apply AND how long the foundation lasted!!!! Happy Thanksgiving Love you 💜💚💜💚💜
It took until the last couple of months (I'm 38 😩) to FINALLY figure out that serious moisture, a sunscreen that works for me, and PRIMER is the secret to makeup looking natural and beautiful! I've tried a few primers and the elf putty primer is by far my favorite. And if I use traditional foundation (instead of skin tint or foundation balm), I mix some moisturizer in it and it's just been amazing! I hate the makeup look, but prepping the skin makes the makeup melt in.
Re: Foundation- I usually start applying my foundation from the center out- I generally only need to even out my 60 year old skin in the center of my face because of redness there around my nose, upper lip, between my eyebrows and of course, around my eyes- I then lightly feather it outwards. If I need a concealer after I place my foundation then it is very lightly applied only in those darker areas. I always use a primer for my face and an eyelid primer to keep my eyeliner in place due to hooded lids. And a very light dusting of powder under my eyes and around my nose and mouth. Less is generally more, regardless of age and wrinkles or not just because it can be built on, like you said.
Hi Lisa, Love your channel. Your skin is beautiful but for some of us (I'm 67) I have age spots and I tend to apply more of a heavy foundation to hide them. Can you possibly give tips on what products work to hide them and then show how and what type of foundation to use that will look light and glowy. Many thanks. Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving with your family.
Thank you so much Lisa! I love your foundation brush. Use it every day! I’m 69 and found settling in my lines and did the Wayne Goss method of a facial tissue over a soft sponge to lift off excess foundation before setting with powder. It worked SO well for me. All the best to you! 😻😻😻
Thank you, Lisa. I have pretty deep smile lines and forehead lines at 54, and always had problems with product settling throughout the day. I tried the milk gripping primer and that did not help… In fact, it made it worse. After watching your video, I tried using the Hydrogrip, but much less of it (about 1/8 pump, only on my lines). So far, so good!
Hi Lisa. This is a great video. I am 56 and have some crows feet. Not too deep but my foundation (no matter which foundation I use) does settle into it. I will try some of these techniques. Love your brushes! Thank you. ❤
it would be helpful for your recommendations of products for dry or oily skin as you went thru each step. Relying on the makeup clerk has become ridiculous as of late. One day at Ulta an employee asked what I was shopping for. She immediately started applying a wide hard streak of eyeshadow on the bridge of my nose! She never asked for permission and then get this....She walked away to never come back. It was the strangest thing that ever happened to me at a makeup place/counter.
Great video, very informative. I love your nail polish color, could you please share with me the brand and color. Your makeup today is stunning, would you please make a tutorial video on it? Thanks❤❤
Lisa, your hands are so lovely! And I particularly love the eyeshadow look today. I think that might actually look good on my hooded/small lid space eyes to open them up. Speaking of which, might you toy with the idea of making a video for those of us with small lid/brow space? I never wear eyeshadow because I find with so little space to work with, my eyes tend to look too deep set. I've never seen this issue addressed by any video anywhere. (Maybe my unlucky demographic is just too small, lol.)
Your videos are the best. I learn so much from them. I will certainly be using the back of the hand and buff method. All of these tips are great! Thank you Lisa. You’re a great teacher.
Great tips, Lisa! Where did you get that gorgeous color sweater? That color looks beautiful on you! I Need that sweater!! And definitely, YES! A tutorial on your eye makeup application in this video!
Im 39 too and have found less is more- I used to be a face baker but after two kids things have changed! Can’t wait for my core line extension brush set to arrive
Hi, apologies if you already addressed this in previous comments, but could you provide the eye makeup products used in this video? Love the eyeshadow, mascara and liner combo!
I have dark circles, bags, and freckles. I’ve never been able to do the less is more. What would you recommend with Full coverage? I use Jane Iradale tinted moisturizer along with a bb cream (trying to cover and try not to be dry) wish I could insert a natural picture for you to Grasp my problem (face)
I love these tips Lisa! I implement them every day, and they do make a huge difference!❤ I absolutely love the Loreal Infallible 24 hour Fresh Wear foundation too! Beautiful from application to removal. All day wear is not a lie!
Omgosh yes! My skin was so flawless in my 20s; people assumed I was wearing a ton of makeup lol 😂 I wasn’t! I’m 44 now and I cannot list all the changes my skin has gone through, even just since I turned 40 🫠😂
Yes! I received the 101 foundation brush last week. It is SO, SO good. This am I ordered the Angie Hot and Flashy set and the Precision brush set. I can’t wait to apply my makeup with them. I have set of those very pricey Chikuhodo Hand made Japanese makeup brushes. Lisa, yours are better. Thank you for all the hard work developing these beautiful brushes.❤🎉
Joyce, I am so happy to know you are enjoying your BK Beauty 101 brush. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your support. I truly means so much to me and the entire BK Beauty team.
Thank you for these tips! I have started pouncing the brush with foundation on my T zone and then blending down and you are so right that you don’t get to much product doing it this way. I have started spraying a sponge with my setting spray and then going over my face. I feel this not only sets my makeup but takes any extra powder away. I love your brushes! They not only make applying makeup easy they are easy to clean. I have some from when they were first offered and they look like the new ones I just purchased! Thanks 😊
Thank you for this video. I bought your new core extension line of brushes, but I will have to go back and watch the video you made explaining which brush is for what again. I still haven't used them. I have to say your brushes are game changing and absolutely perfect.
Hi Lisa, love your videos! Can you recommend a dupe for the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base? I love it & will use it for special occasions but it’s very costly to use every day. Thanks for any recommendation you can make🥰You’re so sweet, I wish I could meet you! Lots of hugs 🤗🤗🤗🥰
Your video sold me on my need for a foundation brush. I had one of the old "paintbrushes" and hated it. Now I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my BK contoured brush. Thanks!
These are all great tips. When I started applying itty bitty layers of skincare and foundation I noticed a big difference. Also I would add that it’s important to clean your brushes and sponges often.

I so appreciate this video. You graciously answered an email on this topic and it's great to have a visual. You are a wonderful communicator and teacher! These tips are working for me. Thank you!
I'm 33 and have really creased under eyes 🤦🏻♀️and I hardly can wear any concealer, as any of it will look crusty under my eyes...even if I prep my skin there. I have oily combo skin on the face and under eyes are like desert🤷🏻♀️
I'm 57 and I have to relearn putting on foundation. I am using less powder. I don't use a brush for foundation just my hands but with your meathod I just may try again because I was doing it wrong before. I do have a sticky primer and will try with that again and use less foundation. So is a setting spray a no no??
Great video Another tip is to use is invisible lip liner. Apply it along the creases ...works wonders. I use the invisible lip liner all the time now and my makeup never creases .

Hello my friend Lisa, Another great video & techniques 👏🏽👏🏽. Question, what would be a good technique for eye glass wears? I know you need to work the product into the skin, set the product & do not add too much product; but how can you prevent makeup getting all over the rims of your glasses? Thank you 😊. Lisa, you ROCK! Thank you! I already do most of these, but I have been reticent in the past to use a brush instead of a damp beauty blender to apply my foundation... But this video convinced me to give that a try... I have the set you & Angie developed & I love most of those brushes, but I'll admit I'm probably not using them for exactly what they're intended for. That said, have you done a video explaining these?
these are my favorite videos.. i learn so much.. will definitely try putting foundation on my hand and then applying.. so true about the drying of foundation the longer it sits on your face. thanks again and happy thanksgiving!
I just subscribed after I received by brush. In my 60s and completely can’t find a full coverage foundation due to uneven skin. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Haha! I have that MAC 190 brush. It causes so many streaks like you said. I stopped using it. Since it's practically brand new still, I may try to use it with powder in the manner in which you said and get your foundation brush. I like foundation sticks, but as I've gotten older it's been hard to find a good one for dry mature skin. I'm your age, Ms. Lisa. Are their any you would recommend that might just work for us? Thank you for sharing all your knowledge so we can look as good as we feel...or better.
Great tips. Please do a video for us 70 year olds and under eye concealer . I think most of us have a crease problem . I have quit wearing it due to the creasing. Love your videos. And your brushes . Happy Thanksgiving Lisa

Love the mail color - what’s the color?! Great info too and very helpful.
I just subscribed after I received by brush. In my 60s and completely can’t find a full coverage foundation due to uneven skin. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thank you! Great tips!! Can you tell me the best way (and how often) to clean my brushes? Thx ❤
This video was so helpful! Thank you!!
I really love your way of explaining. Thank you
