I got the same or similar one for $145 Canadian but minus the cameras. I Connected it today to my bike seems to work well especially for the price. Considering I paid $600 for my Garmin 4 years ago this is great.
Yes it’s a pretty decent unit for the price. And I don’t worry too much if it happens to get damaged.
Looks like a good unit, but the reliance for Cell Service makes it challenging for riding in the bush. Great features and the cameras are awesome!
Yeah for sure! I love the cameras and how the unit functions and looks overall. Maybe there’s a way for offline maps to work and I just haven’t figured it out yet.
I had the same idea (getting a CarPlay motorcycle unit for my SXS) but I stop the project because the quad map app I’m using (iQuad in Quebec) is not supported by CarPlay.
My guess is that apps require special Apple license to be able to run in CarPlay mode. I might try to get in touch with iQuad developers to ask them to add the CarPlay mode, but I’m not holding my breath on this! 😂🤣
Yes that definitely seems to be a limitation with using a CarPlay device off-road. If more off-road apps were compatible and the unit had a built in GPS (which I know some of their models do have) then this would be a really nice, sleek unit to have. Thanks for watching!
