I heard this song when I was a Sophomore in high school in 1986, and knew I wanted it played some day when I got married. I married in 1991 and it was played then. I will always love this song. Thanks for sharing.
Very late to the party but I just read your comment about Michael who was incredibly talented but fell through the cracks of the music business.I heard him more on adult contemporary than pop and I was never country but loved his early solo albums. I met him once on a flight from Toronto to Chicago. He'd performed on a telethon the night before and was on his way back to Minneapolis. I told him how much I liked his music and he seemed genuinely grateful to hear it. He was very nice very humble guy with an amazing one of a kind voice. RIP MJ.
I hope Michael was able to read the positive comments all over RUclips about his wonderful songs so he could see what an impact he has had on many lives with his music. Financial success and fame does not always bring happiness. His beautiful music will live on forever on RUclips.
LOVED all your photos, my favorite was the last one, of the elderly man whispering in his wife's ear, as she smiles. SO sweet! Michael has a handsome voice & plays the guitar excellently! Lovely music, tune, words & message, Bob.
I sang this song to my husband in our wedding. It is a very special song to me. Thank you for the beautiful slide show. It was very touching - especially the last slide.
Yes, the last slide is my favorite, too. I just thought that having an elderly couple captured the essence of "forever". Interesting concept to sing this to your husband at your wedding; I think it works better the other way around, but I guess it could work either way.
OH My Goodness! This is such a beautiful song with such awesome lyrics. I just love it and I love the video you made for it Bob. Thank you for sharing your awesome creation!
Yes, I've always thought it would make a great wedding song. Unfortunately I got married in 1976 and this song was written in 1986. But it's a good song for any romantic occasion, like Valentine's Day.
music genius = less is more. The accapella that MJ choose to end the song with underscores the beautiful words and music that has preceded it. He's a tasty little dude, isn't he. sc
i love this song i'm still listening in 2020 let's see how great every ones memory is looking for a song but all i can remember is the beginning of the video clip a young boy goes into the attic opens a chest pulls out a pair of glasses puts them on then we are on a train does anyone know this song please thank you
I love it coolram1952!!! It looks like I will be getting married soon and I might even consider it as a song to be played at my wedding reception possibly!!! Thanks for sharing and God bless you!!!
I love your song. Tonight I am thankful 'cause tomorrow begins A lifetime together and two hearts will win I have loved you as surely as love has no shame For as long as you're listening, I'll whisper your name I will whisper your name when you're wounded and caught Or when love beats so loudly, a whisper is lost And if I made the rules and if time was the game I would promise forever to whisper your name Well if you strike a match and set the whole world aflame And they used up the oceans and still prayed for rain When they cry for the guilty, I'll take the blame And when no one is listening, I'll whisper your name I will whisper your name when you're wounded and caught Or when love beats so loudly, a whisper is lost And if I made the rules and if time was the game I would promise forever to whisper your name
+Brooke Williams Wow, it's a nice wedding song. Good choice. Speaking of candle-lighting, we had a disaster at my wedding. I guess they call it the "unity candle." Well, we went to light it, and we couldn't get it lit. We finally had to give up and move on. I wondered if it was an omen. Guess not, were on our way to 40 years of marriage. As one. Candle or not. Here's another video I made for a nice wedding song. This is probably the perfect wedding song, at least for a Christian couple. ruclips.net/video/mgw4vNpNh88/видео.html
@@kevinmiller1985 Yep, good suggestion. "My Only Love" is certainly very romantic. I just watched the video for the song, and, wow, Harold Reid's wife Brenda is about the prettiest woman I have ever seen, maybe second only to my wife. In fact, my wife looked a lot like Brenda when she was that age. My wife is 67 now, and still looks every bit as good as the day I married her 43 years ago.
I too have been trying to find this song for like twenty years but I could not remember the song title or artist. I finally did a music search for all songs with Whisper in the lyrics. Talk about a pain staking task, I never realized the word whisper was so widely used in music.
Stan Fortner How did you happen to run across my video for this song? I'm just curious, because just an hour ago I started trying to establish a presence on pinterest.com, and this was one of the videos I uploaded. Did you stumble across it on Pinterest? Or is it just a coincidence?
Stan Fortner If you thought my video for "Whisper Your Name" was romantic, check out this other one I made for Travis Tritt singing "Drift Off To Dream". Equally romantic. ruclips.net/video/VPbvkFC0eeI/видео.html

Sir i love what you do with the text and all. Just what i am looking for. The artist i am reviewing has little desire to be seen on camera. Some folks are like that.
Beautiful love song♥️♥️♥️♥️

Michael passed away on July 25th, 2017 after a long illness. He lived a long, full life, 72+ years. R.I.P. Michael.
I hope Michael was able to read the positive comments all over RUclips about his wonderful songs so he could see what an impact he has had on many lives with his music. Financial success and fame does not always bring happiness. His beautiful music will live on forever on RUclips.

I will miss you always, Michael -- one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard.
RIP Michael - You will be missed! I've listened and loved your music since the 1970's
Only one man has ever whispered my name in my ear. Too powerful. Now i cry forever 😪😪😪

When I get out of this wheelxhair, I'll dance I think my lady and this will be playing.
Your a good person bob Marshall. I wish you well.
Love all that Michael Johnson does. Would love to hear SOMEWHERE "The Power" - which he did in the late 70's /early 80's. Anybody have it for upload?

This was my wedding song. Thanks for posting. Today is our 25th anniversary and I was looking for this.
My dear wife and my wedding song. Sung for us by Bill Cook a dear friend and bass player for many a great artist. Rick
