- Ninja Theory, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, revealed a first glimpse at Hellblade's sequel: Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2's gameplay. Senua is no longer alone, as you'll have the added burden of leading others on your journey. Here, we see her and others trying to take on a horrifying giant. Senua's Saga: Hellblade II has no set release date yet.

It's hard to believe that Melina Juergens playing Senua is not a professional actress, her performance is stunning.
If she wasn't, then she is now.
She is so expressive, and her eyes are stunning. I love her instagram and how she embrace Senua's character

I love how far Senua has come. She was lost, scared and alone and now she's a leader and even monsters know her name

I went to Copenhell as a volunteer in 2019. Heilung played a late night, 1AM to be precise, on the 2nd to last day. Out of every concert during that festival, I've never had an experience like watching and listening to Heilung in the middle of the night, surrounded by hundreds or thousands of people equally entranced as myself. Nothing compares to that night, in my mind, and I'm excited for this second game to at least evoke some of the feelings I had during that show. Helps the first one was plain good, too ;)

These fluid transitions from cutscene to actual gameplay is breathtaking.
The other time, where I saw it was God of War (2018).
There is no cut scene. It's all gameplay and better than GOW

It's more of a journey than a game honestly
I have beaten it twice and will do so again. Such an absolute gem. Honestly the portrayal of psychosis helped me professionally to. The game works on so many levels.

If anyone hasn't watched the special features for the first Hellblade, take a few minutes to watch them and you'll soon find a whole new appreciation for why this game even exists.
The story behind its creation is something you should all take a few minutes to look into if you haven't already.
Forgetting the game. Forgetting its graphics. Why it even exists is just as special/unique. Much love.
Major props to the Devs too. The mocap and character animation work is unreal.
So hype for this. Looks amazing! Ninja theory is one of the best developers out there. Can't wait

Not sure it’s my style of game, but I have to admire the character models and animations. It’s crazy to think how far real time graphics have come.

just going off this trailer does not give you a valid glimpse into what hellblade is about.
The first game is incredible as others have said and i can not give it a higher recommendation to anyone who either wants something new or an engrossing storyline.
the gameplay is a bit hit or miss imo but im splitting hairs .
if you do try it ever headphones are an absolute must.

@@jacobmarley2417 I’ll probably end up buying a Series X next year for Starrim. Err, Skyfield. If so, maybe I’ll check out the Senua games, they do indeed look intriguing. I just wouldn’t want the entire game to feel this bleak and dark in tone, or I might have trouble enjoying it.

Looks amazing! The first game was easily one of the best games I've ever played... but I have one question, how are they going to explain everyone else seeing what Senua sees?

I'm guessing, they don't... She's acting like some sort of shaman for them as they go on a journey across Iceland. The people in this Era believe in Gods and superstition so they must have some faith that she sees what they can't see. I think this is why the game director said this game is going to be "about how madness and suffering shape myths gods and legends"
So maybe they're actually fighting something physical like the north men, but from her eyes we're seeing of her psychosis as manifestations of Nordic mythology.
The narrator says Senua will. have to harbor the burden of leading other people to their death.
This is just my theory anyway.
I think it’ll be something like how Neil Gaiman’s Beowulf movie went, that the tales he told of his glorious battles were just tales and he embellished them so much to make himself the hero. In this story, Senua might be telling a tale as a way of coping with how she led others astray and wanting to blame it on the gods. My question though is whether this is a sequel or a prequel

If you have gamepass you will get it there day one. It is Microsoft exclusive.

I am both utterly terrified and excited
Will pay full price because this is one of the few 'recent' games that i played that actually felt finished and didn't need patches left and right, i felt like a valued customer instead of a dummie paying full price just to be an unpaid test player.
Take note other devs, before the game industry collapses.
Devs been complaining left and right about tight deadlines and underwhelming pay out but really that's their own fault.
People stopped pre-ordering and waiting for discounts to buy the game because they are tired of having to deal with unfinished products.
That's why i think it is more important than ever to support the game devs that are actually worthy of supporting.
It shows the other devs that profit is pretty much guaranteed if you give people something worth paying for.

This and the new Matrix 'experience' are evidence to back up what I and I'm sure many others already new, that there are no 'next gen' games available at the moment.
Halo:Infinite, FH5, the upcoming Horizon:Zero Dawn 2,Gran Turismo 5,GoW2 are last gen games masquerading as next gen and even the impressive looking Ratchet and Clank:Rift Apart and Demons Souls in PS5 are not true next gen games.
Today we have witnessed what the next really looks like and it looks glorious.
Agree but next gen isn't defined by the graphics alone this time, ratchet did very next gen things apart from visuals alone... The key will be merging it all together so you get the groundbreaking graphics along with smooth gameplay and techniques used that couldn't be done before.
The problem with the matrix showcase is getting that to run like that within a full game.. it's easy enough to get it looking like that with not much to do within the space your in.. which is why we have no missions or anything extra to do apart from drive and walk.

@@ConstantAce Yeah It's understandable because the game itself is focused on Viking mythology. She learned it from Druith and because of Psychosis she could see it in reality.

That being said, I think it's bit of a streach to call this a gameplay trailer, because it didn't really show anything to get a sense of the gameplay.

The Attack on Titan inspiration with the zombiefied giants is beyond epic and something new and refreshing. A masterpiece of dark fantasy!

I guess a release date was too much to ask for. I'm most excited about this release than pretty much any other one I can think of. Senua's Sacrifice was def in my top 5 games of all time. The graphics were way ahead of there time.

I been looking all over the comments to see if anyone was as confused as I been. I was under the impression that all the supernatural elements of the first game were only experienced by Senua.
the transition from cut scene to gameplay kinda seamless, but maybe many people dont like it i think, cutscene - throw spear - running - cutscene - throw spear - running - cut scene and so on

Seriously, that small detail where they set the trap too early was a brilliant touch! It adds to the chaos that helps give it a more realistic vibe.
All I know is that the soundtrack is going to be EPIC

This looks good but it's very scripted and basically on rails here... Nothing much going on in the background so I'd still say horizon has the edge with everything that is happening in that game... Still need to see more gameplay yet.
@@Bulby666 It seems it might play similar to the first. They both use different art directions so it makes it harder to decide which looks better. Hellblade 2 is more realistic graphically and Horizon has more going on as the comment above stated.

@@Bulby666 this section they showed off for Hellbalde 2 was definitely on the rails... but it was just a choice they made to show off a cinematic portion of the game. (Think about similar sections from the first Hellblade or God of War 2018)
And i also think there'll be gameplay trailers in the next 12-16 months with more (lets call it) "free-roam" that'll show off the beauty of the game's world as well.
Overall though, an impressive first-look at the world & character animations they're building for this game.
