@@millstreetgardensWhere I use to live on a very large grain farm, down some of the country roads the side of the gravel roads where very lovely smooth asters, some so exceptional that I'd mark them and dig and plant within my garden. Also, there had been astonishing Indian paintbrushes in all colors imaginable! The wood lilies were dotted dotted about, they thrilled me as a child! BUT, sadly, these days, soooo many of the natives have now succumb to the mowing and chemical spray drift from farmer's fields and now mostly just quackgrass and thistles grow. :(

That must have been quite the site to see! Yes between that and the Invasive plants it's definitely not as exciting. I love when I still see giant patches of the natives (usually in rural residential around ditches and such).
