    I was born and raised in PA. I'm now living in the mountains of NC because they remind me of the rolling PA hills! I appreciate you for sharing your faith, your sweet family, and your hard work. You motivate me; calm me, and I watch and rewatch many of your vlogs. Thanks for your wisdom and honesty. (and the views of PA countryside I still miss). I'm praying for blessings for you and your sweet family.

    Your yard and garden is so beautiful. I learned to drive a stick shift car way back when. My Dad wouldn't let me drive an automatic until I mastered that good ol clutch. In turn I did the same with my kids.

    Keeping the rosebush where it is, draws you into the garden to "discover" other surprises. Sometimes not having everything in full view is magical. ;)

    Beautiful garden. Matt is correct, everyone should know how to drive a stick. My first car was manual.

    Still seems so wonderful that you do this all on 1/4 acre! Amazing. I agree with Matt - the only way to DRIVE is with a stick. I'm a 78 yo granny and would still love to have mine back. So much fun. 5 speed Barracuda with hurst shifter and BIG engine - could get rubber in 3rd gear - oh those were the days. I wouldn't move the rose bush - it looks grand overlooking the garden from it's throne. The deer ate all my sweet potato starts, my comfrey, my lemon tips, the rest will be gone before I get any harvests - they are so bad here. Just snort at me when I walk outside as if I was the intruder! What they haven't gotten the roly poly bugs have destroyed - this is the first time I've seen them this bad - a plague of roly poly bugs. Comical but not in a fun way. Every year it is something that flourishes beyond imagination. Then I walk in my garden and relax and enjoy what God does and am so thankful for the whole garden, problems and all. It awakens me and makes me so grateful and happy just to walk in it and smell the earth.

    your swiss chard has leaf miner (sp)damage ...remove all the damaged leaves.... your gardens look wonderful.. btw....you look great....you must be feeling better

  • @tinaouellet8782
    @tinaouellet8782 Месяц назад

    You aren't looking at slug damage in that swiss chard, it's leaf miners. If you bring the leaf up to the sun, you will see a little wormy looking guy chomping between the lining of the leaf. I wish I knew how to get rid of them all, but removing affected leaves and using a row cover helps I find.

    BonJour,
    tout d'abord, BRAVO pour votre magnifique jardin... je l'admire à chaque fois et c'est un vrai plaisir de le découvrir, de voir son évolution, au fil des semaines...
    Moi-aussi, je suis passionnée de roses AUSTIN... mes variétés sont des variétés un peu plus anciennes... j'en ai installé dans des parterres avec des vivaces, mais également en potées avec des annuelles à leurs pieds. Ils sont magnifiques !! un vrai Bonheur...
    A bientôt,
    Cécile

    Kelsey, love your garden. I believe you have leafminers not slug damage on your plants at 21:36. Spinosad is what is used to control them, however in my experience they are difficult to control. Good luck.

    What a beautiful assortment of trees you chose! My husband is on vacation this week so he watched the video with me. He actually smiled and shook his head in agreement when Matt said everyone should know how to drive an automatic 😊 so many fun things to look forward too! Have a great week Kelsey.

      I’m so excited for the trees! Hopefully in the next week we can get them in the ground! Lol, funny story, when Matt and I started dating he told me if we were in for the long run I needed to learn to drive stick! 😂 He said it was too much of a pain to work on automatics lol. So, he taught me how and the rest is history! Enjoy having your hubby home! ❤

      I feel like maybe a decade ago people were still being discouraged from planting edible landscaping/ gardens / mini orchards because “it would hurt resale value”. I think we’re finally at a point that extensive edible landscaping is a selling point, and I love it.
