The fascinating thing about a yacht is that you can recreate one on land. Just dig a hole, make a fire and consistently throw money in it, oh and I forgot you have to be wearing deck shoes.
Super yachts have two main features; exclusive privacy and self direction (choosing where to go). If you are not a public figure and don’t need the privacy, and you are willing to choose from a list of available destinations, you can have a great alternative for not much money. Cruise ship yachts like the Royal Clipper and the Wind Surf are wonderful for casual sailing and finding congenial company. I have crossed the Atlantic twice on the Wind Surf, and I don’t think that I would prefer to do so on a super yacht even if price were no object.

Fantastic knowledge... you would be a fantastic broker. One question. All the yachts are stern in . are the bows anchored as they seem not to even touch the docks?
3 Questions: 1. In the event the owner and their family is on board, if two members of the family have contradicting demands is there a hierarchy as to who’s demand is fulfilled? Such as, do not tell my wife I have a mistress on board, and she asks who the code refers to (the code for the mistress). 2. What is the proper relationship owners should have with their crew and what are the boundaries that must be respected? (Relationship as in friendship, boss/employee, servant, possibly romantic, .etc.). 3. What kind of rights do employees have while working among the boat such as privacy, legal, safety, and what do you wish would change about them?
That 1991 yacht's owner might be a water sign, they put sentimental value and stick to one. (Of course it depends on the person but most of the time it's the water sign people who are sentimental and clings to old things.)

You've touched on this topic briefly in another video. I believe it was the video about the 1st of the 2 videos about the Young Turks incomplete coverage about yacht ownership. Yacht registration. The flag I believe that you were asking about is Marshall Islands which is U.S. territory of sorts. I actually work with a number of people who are from the Marshall Islands. Anyway, I picked up last months issue of Boat International and in it was an article about movers and shakers in the yacht industry. The owner of the NBA Houston Rockets franchise introduced legislation for American yacht owners to display the American flag on their yachts which was granted. I was under the impression that the flag of convenience began in the U.S. and it was more of a tax diversion for yacht owners(American or not) to register their yachts in more tax favorable locales(Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Bahamas, Bermuda, Malta, Marshall Islands) etc. The owner of M/Y Limitless is an American and it is the largest American registered yacht. I'm slightly confused by the legislation that was passed in 2018 and being that I've seen images of m/y Limitless with the American flag on it. The article stated for a half century, American yacht owners weren't allowed to display the flag on their yachts. Maybe you can explain this better.
Loved the video. What happens to your car when the boat leaves the marina ? Do you to get to park for free when the boat is there. Just interested in the practalities.
Thank you for producing this video. Do you know about the grey vessel behind you at the end of the video? I think I saw a similar one locally in port Canaveral a while back. I absolutely love cruising and look forward to the next one.
That old boat that you were talking about it was probably made with newer materials and better quality back in the day like carbon fiber make it lighter and giving an old look feeling that would be the only plus about having a boat like that I think maybe I'm wrong
lex mark you actually don’t want to build a boat out of carbon fiber, weight is stability (to a certain extent) on boats, unless you’re a fast boat on flat water and she is neither. I have done a few refits of older boats and it’s almost always cost as much as building new so you are correct about everything else.
Wow! You've gained 15 thousand subscribers since I found and subscribed to your channel. Thanks for giving your followers an insight to yachting👍 keep it up!
Do you have a guesstimate at what length or tonnage a motor yacht must be to cross (stress free) the Atlantic ocean? France to New York. My guess is 200 feet 60 meters is large enough. Maybe below that size might be a bit of a choppy journey.
I’ve crossed the Atlantic on a 67m boat. Was quite rough at times. The boat has to be large enough to carry enough fuel to get across because there’s nowhere to refuel.
@@YachtReport You mean there is no pit stop ala Formula -1 yuk, yuk yuk, . ??? I love your videos.
Happy New year my new friend. We both love boats, fast cars and life itself! WWG1WGA!
Thank you for producing this video. Do you know about the grey vessel behind you at the end of the video? I think I saw a similar one locally in port Canaveral a while back. I absolutely love cruising and look forward to the next one.
Yet another great video and thanks for all your explanation of yaches.
Nice. Love watching videos like these, inspirational.
Lovely video, great stuff, thanks
Keep the videos up and have a wonderful new year.
Truest enjoy your videos. Motivated me to purchase one in the next 2 years!!
Happy New Year to you!
Does refit mean renovate?
Yes, normally new electronics, new furnishings, repaint, engine overhauls, new decking, etc.
In the US, many pronounce Prince Ranier's name as 'Ran-yay,' 'Ran-year' or simply 'Ran-ear.'
Love your videos so authentic and interesting. Cheers
seasickness on floating platform ... Great video & vblog .. thank you ..
Great videos. Very informative and execellent quality. All the best for 2019
Great content as usual 👍 Very interesting.
Wow! You've gained 15 thousand subscribers since I found and subscribed to your channel. Thanks for giving your followers an insight to yachting👍 keep it up!
Is a rib the best first boat for us muggles?
Yes do a loop please! You'll be the closest I come to any of these places. I new here. What do you do?
Already done!
Great video and beautiful boat
If you had 150 million to spend on a new 100 meter yacht, 35 knots top speed, crew of 30, (the man has money to burn) all aluminum, which design team/architect firm & shipyards would you investigate???
I've been in that tunnel. Le Grill is on the top floor with a retracting roof.
your the man--- digging your vids
btw , what is your role on the vessel you work on
Study his name. It's a skilled trade.
I ❤ MONACO
What do you actually gain (purpose/benefit) for a 2.5m stern extension? Just it seems a lot of trouble and money for such a minor extension. Loving your channel!
All video's on yachts or yachting is interesting! I don't know if it is possible, probably not, but any footage of the places you visit? Or would that be showing your 'hand' so to speak?
As for Yacht Clubs how about the Royal Yacht Squadron?
Huge fan of your channel. Keep up the great work. Also, could you perhaps give us a rough idea of the cost of membership for the Yacht Club de Monaco
Great video as always. It really helps to have someone who works on yachts to speak knowledgeably about the topic.
BTW: What’s that great piece of music at the start of this video?
Great video, thanks. Happy new year to you and wishing you safe journeys my friend 👍
Wow you look much better, younger even in the current videos, compared to this one!
I just discovered your channel and I’m binge-watching, it’s great 👍
@01:36 It's Marshall Islands flag. My Way used to be Ralf Schumachers, the F1 drivers' boat. 01:57 It's not 'Emaels', it's pronounced Aamels like in 'far'. Its Prince Reinier as in 'Reindeer' without the D. 05.14 It's Siran as Iran with an S' . She also had the extra three windows added on the bridge deck. Keep up the great vids, do research beforehand.
I knew where the flag was from, I was asking people watching if they knew. As for pronunciation I don’t think I was too far off.
