    I’ve wanted a plasma cutter for years now. I know you “can” cut sheet metal with a cut off wheel, but I’ve not yet perfected that method. As plasma cutters have gotten less expensive I’ve saved up and decided to take a risk on a “cheap” unit. The YESWELDER Cut-55DS. After a few practice cuts and completing my gate build I am impressed!

    Terrific, practical review. I too had budget issues when I bought this and have zero regrets. I had a small issue with the regulator valve which Yes promptly responded by sending me another. I do recommend however, making sure that your air supply is as dry as it can be using an in line water separator.

      For sure on the dry air. That's why I'm running the additional filter and dryer on my system. I hope to prevent any damage that would come from water in the line.

      @@DrivingForwardBuilds You're welcome. I appreciate a youtuber that actually responds to comments/questions. FYI that based on your useful review (along with some others that I have watched), I bought this Cut-55DS today. It's on an amazing sale right now for only $199 and I figure you really beat that. Thanks again

    Thanks for the review. I've been considering buying one but was concerned it wouldn't be strong enough.

    Mine started making a loud buzzing noise only while cutting. Ive only used it twice pretty sure my warranty is up. Any ideas sir

      So far mine isn't making any noise, at least different than at initial startup? Perhaps something inside came loose and is vibrating against the case?

    how big of compressor do you need

    • @DrivingForwardBuilds
      @DrivingForwardBuilds  10 месяцев назад +1

      I’m using a 10 year old 30 gallon 110v unit. Really you don’t need a lot of pressure. Max you’re running 50psi. As far as volume you can cut then wait for the compressor to catch up.

    Did you find any damage with the way Amazon ships it?

    • @DrivingForwardBuilds
      @DrivingForwardBuilds  Год назад +2

      Thankfully no. The plasma cutter was well protected inside it’s primary box.

    Just like a welder, that pretty light emitted from the cutter can kill you. What's with the short sleeves?

      I was not aware that the arc was as potent as a weld arc. Especially given the arc is shielded by the work piece for much of the cut. That and the shade lens used for cutting is so much less than welding. I’ll have to look into it. Thanks for the insight.

      It is lower but damage is accumulative. If you are using 40+ amps, it's emitting a lot of energy . People who are exposed to sun rays do not react the same and this is the same situation.

      @@thomcarr7021 Got it. Thanks for the info. PPE is a battle when it's 100* + in the garage, but I need to work harder on it.
