Anna always understands the assignment, but she REALLY understood this one, the Kesha/Britney "you can tell they are crying for help in the songs if you know the context but you won't hear it if you don't KNOW what's going on because its so hype" is so perfectly depicted in the cover AAAAAAAH I love it. I wish Anna would cover "Use Me Up" by Paranoid DJ I think she would NAIL IT

Well, I'm happy to hear that, but Annas voice isn't really deep. It still has a light timbre. A real alto/contralto has a different kind of sound.

Poison gets so overlooked. It’s such a great song with a powerful story of how Angel Dust is troubled.
As much as I adore angel just, the vibes of this song, the story behind it and the animation, I do think that it’s not the most lyrically interesting if that makes sense? Like every chorus they rhyme poison with poison. Either way though it’s still a slay

The original will always be my #1, nothing can beat it imo. Blake Roman is a perfect Angel Dust, he sings amazingly but with unique character and expresses the emotions so well throughout until it all builds up at the end. As well as those little voice cracks and...flourishes(?) that he does sometimes, but it sounds so good, like at the end of the lyrics "I can only blame myself." However, these covers are really great, I love Anna's voice, I listen to her House of Asmodeous all the time 😍

Honestly having a female version of this song is amazing for my own experience.
I was in a poisonous relationship for a few years and despite knowing how badly I was treated (physically abused and mentally manipulated), I loved them too much to leave them, their love was addictive to me. Used to sleep more to escape from them, and would often just tell them what they wanted to hear so I could be left in peace. I barely ate and pushed away people who tried to help me get out.
They stalked me relentlessly afterwards, threatening me, to the point where I was petrified to leave my home.
I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD, and honestly I’m still affected by their poison, I can’t let people touch me but I’m slowly getting better. Hearing this song for the first time was… surreal. Felt like I was listening to my own story.
