I hope everyone is enjoying the new year! This one is short and sweet but there is plenty more videos to come!

Ending line still cracks me up: “I can WHAT?” Perfect way to show that, while the GM was a bit annoying, ultimately he wasn’t being malicious.

Yeah, I liked that this one seemed like it could get fixed quickly with a little communication. No one being malicious is nice.

Now a days, you see Goblin Slayer and see goblins with cleric levels, shaman levels and even fighter levels and I'd be like... Hmm... we COULD make goblins a viable threat now.

So, Loot Goblin, where were you during this goblin genocide?

All in all, this seems to be one of the lowest problematic cases we usually see. Obviously, we're not getting the full picture, the DM might have other problems, but I've to give them props for actually talking it out with the players when confronted with the problem, explaining their reasoning and seemingly taking the advice. The DM wasn't ignoring the solution, they were completely unaware of it and now knew how to properly balance their camping.

Written at 4:53 in the video: See my immediate thought to fix (well, temp fix) the 'all goblins all the time' while on the front would be necromancy. Undead Goblins aren't classed as Goblins anymore. (Well, the common ones, you rarely full see units of Vampires for instance.) Second would be for the PC's to get a reputation going so they keep running into not just Goblins but mercenary forces of other species. Have the Goblins get desperate and bribe a young dragon to help them, have them cut a deal with Yuan-Ti, start summoning demons or making elementals with some mass shamanistic magic rituals or something. There's options to keep it mixed while keeping Goblins still center stage. Throw the party against the Goblin armies equivalent of _them_ with a party of Goblins who's abilities suggest they have class levels. (mind you, that can get out of hand potentially, but still.) Start having the regular Goblins fleeing on sight of the party and only fighting with legitimately overwhelming numbers or fixed positions. Blindside the party with a third group entering the war when opportunistic Drow pop up seeing free slaves to be had, etc.
7:11 Okay, yeah, that seems like a legitimate 'didn't know better' reaction, but even so I'm confused as to why they didn't end up with mixed encounters instead of all one thing, which is what it sounds like was going on. It's something of a classic case of 'DM has a problem, doesn't communicate this to players.' It's a two way street and both the DM and players are on the same team at the end of the day. Same objective: Have fun.

As a DM, i have the opposite problem of this DM.
When my players get good at something, or do somebing that throws me off, i double down.
Usually to hilarious results, and ti my detriment.
    I love it.

Goblins? In our Goblin War Campaign? That sounds rather silly. After all, no one wants to fight the Loot Goblin.

That could have ended up being one of those "horror stories" instead it turned out to be incompetence without malice. I think if the players had brought it up after the first session of thinks feeling weird they might have saved some time but I applaud the patience and willingness to test the waters and narrow down the issue to a tee

I’m a new viewer here and I really like your voice and vibes.
Obviously not my place to tell you how to run your channel, but personally I’d love to see a bit more positive to neutral content. I was looking through and it’s mostly horror stories, and while that’s fun too I feel like your energy might lend itself well to things like tier lists or advice or general opinions or anything else like that.
With the horror stories it’s all pretty negative since it’s usually someone having a bad or creepy time, and I personally only want to listen to so much of that - I don’t want to binge a long list of examples of poorly socialized dorks/jerks doing cringe or mean things, although listening to a few is of course entertaining.
Just a thought since it seems like you have a lot of this type of content, but I was recently drawn in by one of your shorts that was unrelated to that. I think people would enjoy listening to you in all kinds of contexts.

So, I know that a lot of people were mentioning that they were glad it was simply a panicking inexperienced DM, but I have a different take on that - if the DM was worried that the party would have swept the campaign but didn't know how to handle it, they could have asked the party what to do instead of following the typical "That Guy" DM trope of negating the party's abilities. I'm glad they learned afterwards but I'd be leery of this happening again.

Oh man. This could be an entirely different story if the DM just pulled a twist and made it a horror campaign!
Imagine, they get to the front, and all the goblins are gone, not dead just gone. And then the players see shadows in the mist. Not getting closer... Just watching.

Honestly the idea of this big raiding army just disappearing in the middle of you tracking it, like no trace whatsoever, that’s fuckin scary as an actual campaign idea
Also I feel the players could have confronted the dm in a better way, don’t know if they just normally asked him already or what but doing that sort of thing should be what you do after the dm refuses to talk with you out of/before session about why you can’t find the main plot
