  • To start things off, last night, September 3, 2021 was the best night of my life so far. Why? Because I finally got to see my best friend, Lauren at the CSU football game! We hadn’t seen each other in person since June 7, 2018 so it was a very special reunion!
Anyways, back in June of this year, my mom and I took Amtrak’s eastbound California Zephyr to Osceola, Iowa to visit family up in Des Moines and Ankeny. Here, the train is seen going from the E 72nd Ave crossing in Commerce City, to Barr Lake just southeast of Brighton, CO on BNSF’s Brush Subdivision, running 4 hours behind schedule. We meet a WB local at Irondale siding and a WB loaded coal train at Bart Siding near the end of the video. Around 4:20, we pass through the 96th Avenue Railroad Crossing followed by the 104th Avenue Railroad Crossing around 5:20. Notice how slow the gates rise when they get to the cantilevers at both crossings and the wayside horns at 96th Avenue. A link to a video of the aforementioned crossing by fellow user, PlyingKibbles89 can be found below for more details.
