    Hi my friend, thanks a lot for the video. I know the topic is a bit more niche, but I wanted to let you know that I found the video very interesting. I saw a similar workflow a few months ago, yours is a bit different but seems very structured.
    As someone who wants to learn more about landscapes, the video helped me a lot. I would love it if you continued this tutorial series. Thanks a lot!

    We have Gaea2 nodes directly in Houdini now

      @vfxside  3 месяца назад +1

      Hi, the two nodes I’ve seen so far is the Labs Gaea Tor processor, which allows you to import a Gaea file into Houdini and an erosion node, if I’m not mistaken. But the downside is that it’s very difficult to iterate on landscapes by constantly importing them, and Houdini’s viewport supports far fewer voxels than Quadspinner’s. You also lose portability. If you want to use this landscape in UE, for example, you still need to export it. The integration of Gaea into Houdini is something to watch for, but for now, I prefer creating the height fields and maps in Gaea to display landscapes in the background and then redo the textures either in Houdini or Unreal, depending on whether it’s for cinematics or a game where you move in close-up on the landscape.

      @@vfxside ruclips.net/video/8r_DtgKmrUw/видео.htmlsi=8xZrygCVfZDvwzjE&t=85 There is a whole suite of Gaea2 Nodes (19) directly in Houdini, provided you have an active Gaea2 license.

    C’est tellement cool que tu fasse de l’environnement sur Houdini en te servant de Gaea ! Hâte de voir la suite je suis avec toi😊
    Juste je voulais savoir la finalité de tout ça c’est pour faire quoi à la fin ?

      Salut, merci. Ce mini tuto est juste pour présenter un workflow gaea Houdini et copernicus. Je suis en train d’enregistrer un tuto toujours gratuit complet pour créer un environnement complet et le texturer proceduralement avec copernicus. Mais j’ai besoin de plus de temps je suis en plein déménagement et je commence le programme fx masters sur 11 mois avec Double Jump Academy

      @@suraj.1889 Hi, I don’t have a date for the moment. To be transparent, I’ve just completed one move and will be moving again to Canada around Christmas or early next year. I’ve sold my audio recording equipment and will set up a new one once I’m there. Right now, I have a lot of work on top of my moves. I’m trying to continue recording as quickly as possible, but I can’t give a precise date. As a little spoiler, there will be 3 main parts: Gaea, Houdini, and Unreal. I’ll release all the videos at the same time so that the entire training is available. I’ll cover terrain creation with maps in Gaea and Houdini, procedural texturing in Houdini (Copernicus) and Unreal, then rendering in Solaris and Unreal, with a environmental FX pass. Besides the recording, I’m working on the structure of the course-it’s a lot of information, and I’m finishing organizing it all so it’s still fun and understandable. It’ll feel like we’re in a studio, with our art director asking for a specific environment. But no worries, I’m planning 4 environments for this course, starting very easy to go through the workflow and software, and gradually getting more difficult to show the technical problems we can encounter and ways to work around them. Lots of stuff in this upcoming free course. I’ll give updates as soon as I can.

      Hi, yes, I know, it's very frustrating for me too because I haven't had the time yet to fully record, edit, and properly correct my text in both French and English. The purpose of this video is to present the workflow, and I stop just before the texturing step. Ideally, I shouldn't have published it since I haven't finished recording everything. As soon as I can, I'll complete the tutorial and publish the full version both in French and English.
