Brett was most likely saving that Squrriel card for when he needed it badly, And he didnt know what he was getting himself into. So you cant blame him for making a mistake and learning from it. Besides. Its never wise to use all of your cards on a single gamble, As you may ensure your destruction in the future by lacking the foresight to hold your tricks til you Really need them.
Did anyone notice that he said 'these cards are going to overthrow me I bet' And had nailed the story to the game so hard he destroyed the crust of our world?
Not going to lie this game is sick the art is awesome and creepy the atmosphere is tense and the morbid things that happen to these characters like using your own teeth as a damage number is terrifying
I really hope someone publishes a CCG of Inscryption so we can get another series of Brett screaming at Dave and Luke! Hell, he might even learn how the game works.
There’s a card in the game called ringworm. Get those bitches near the fire to eat it and it’s free stats the next time you encounter a fire. Somehow managed to get one at the start of the game and had some extremely buff cards slay the end of the game.
Yeah, Adder/Ringworm/Long Elk kill off the survivor camp - giving you the full 4 boosts for free on _every_ campfire you enter for the rest of the run.
strange larva is so broken, i won on about my third or fourth run after i sacrificed a mantis god into my strange larva and now you have a flying 7/3 that hits 3 spaces and only costs 1 blood. even stronger than the damn deathcards
Brett honey you're doing great but PLEASE VALUE THE SQUIRRELS MORE,you keep picking up sacrifice cards and NOTHING to sacrifice with! It's like threatening to sheet someone with an empty gun, you've lost all the bullets!
As someone who used to play card games religiously, this physically hurt to watch. And I fucking dig it. Hope you play more of this game. It’s genuinely wonderful and the story is absolutely amazing. I’d pay to see you see this through, cause god DAMN do I need to see you react to working things out. Both in reference to the story, and in reference to the game mechanics.
I think maybe Tear forgot that damage is a back and forth scale not set hit points, so taking a hit and surviving is something you can easily recover from by dealing enough damage right back.

Thanks for showing me this... ludicrous game, I've played this for the whole of 2 days now and it gets better and better. So anyways, thanks for playing it Brett!
lets beat a card up *does nothing since its just paper* or lets beat a stoat *either you completely miss cause they are slippery weasels, or you get rabies from getting bit*
here is where we realize that the only card game brett will ever be good at is Four Souls...jebus brett you play this as if it was magic the gathering and its hilarious how wrong you are XD
I think he would've survived the last fight if he drawed a squirrel and sacrificed his whole board to bring out the 7/7 and place it in front of a raven. He would've out dps his opponent since their total damage was 6 and the 7/7 would've just passed raven I think.
Brett, I usually love your humor man, but I swear it was like you were getting angry just to try and get a laugh out of viewers by force. If you actually seemed to try and learn the game and got angry at rng or a minor miscalculation in strategy, then it would be funny, but... there is nothing funny about someone that doesnt know the game and that is getting mad at it cause they are losing due to that. This felt meh to me, and I watched you yell your throat dead though both full playlists of shadow of mordor and shadow of war, because in those you were actually trying to fight and knew the game decently and cared to learn mechanics of it.
Difficult is one thing, unfair is another. This game is clearly unfair. A bit like a roguelike, it can be unfair until you played enough to be godlike with permanent powerups.
In this act of the game, there's no perm buffs for this, aside from three talking cards who are sub par, a wolf, bug and the stoat, the only semi perminant buffs are the deathcards you may recieve from... well... losing, which can be dumb as fucking hell like 0 cost, 7/7 att/hp with double attack diagnoly, but they're only for this act, and you havr to land on a specific tile that lets you pick those cards and lucky to get them as apose to the dummy cards already in game
@@confusedlemur12 Some sort of pity drop because you're too noob to get through eh? It also pulls your leg after dancing on your nerves. This f***ing game!
There are some things you can find around the cabin that persist between runs (such as a third life, and a reroll). There is also a certain card whose strength persists into acts 2 and 3. The "Too fast. Too soon." grizzly spam only happens like once ever on each boss (like, you're intended to die once before (maybe Prospector?), Fisherman and Trapper/Trader). There's some breaks in act 1 that don't necessarily require a lot of attempts to access - certain sigils on the right stuff can tear fights a new one. I can understand calling it unfair at first, but it gets less unfair as more mechanics reveal themselves and as you solve more puzzles.
Wow, I've never seen anybody absolutely refuse to learn what flying cards do quite this hard, and pay for it exactly as much as expected.
He’s fully aware of what they do… he just doesn’t like them haha
Brett: *doesn’t read or pay attention*
Also Brett: “Why is this game so hard!?”
that's just Brett's playstyle, always have been.

Never have I ever wanted to slap past Brett as much as him sacrificing Stoat WHEN HE HAS A SQUIRREL CARD HE CAN DRAW FOR FREE
Turns out p03 deserves it. Fuckem.

He was infuriating throughout the entire thing. Just mistake after mistake.

'these cards are going to overthrow me I bet'
And had nailed the story to the game so hard he destroyed the crust of our world?
Brett complaining the enemy shows up and attacks in one turn, meanwhile that's what HE does...
Sometimes i wonder how Brett manages to win things while not reading anything, bald man luck it is
Only thing i wish is that there was a mode just for the card game. This game is a solid 9/10 blew me away.
people could probably mod it in
Good news, look at the Steam page
There is one, you can set the games version to "Kaycees Mod" which is just the card game forever
That squirrel carving is absolutely busted. Imagine every time you play a squirrel, you get to look through your deck and pick any card you want
Squirrel carving with "this card goes back in your hand when you die" turns the game into "the game is yours to lose"
When I finally got to play with totems, my first totem was the squirrel pack totem. I won with relative ease.
Experienced that. Was broken. Still fucked up though because of my bad choices of cards.
Nah, squirrel totem is good, but I managed to get the bee statue, the an insect totem that spawned ants with every insect card
Was very annoyed when he picked flying for it.
“I have nothing to sacrifice”
… never have i wanted to face palm harder in my life brett.

gonna have to remember "the pain in his font". Font of Pain sounds like a good band name! but it is a good way to express "tone of voice" in text.
As a seasoned MtG player this makes me scream. So many misplays due to not reading stuff. Good game though.
I’ve played enough deck-building roguelikes to understand your pain.
I think maybe Tear forgot that damage is a back and forth scale not set hit points, so taking a hit and surviving is something you can easily recover from by dealing enough damage right back.
If this game came out on switch I would be soooooo happy

There’s a 1 cost 3, 5 and a 1 cost 2, 3… he picks the 2, 3
