  • In this video I clean up and test drive a fine old Stanley No. 95. This is a handy plane to have. This is also the first time I show using JB weld to fill casting nicks.

    I've got to guess, that those two marks were put on there by a previous owner, as a guide, or gauge for something. thanks for the video.

    Good compliment to a table saw processed piece of panel. But very specific range of use.

    That's a handy looking little plane and you made her sing alright. I'm going to let the wig remain your secret so it can be your trademark, but I am a fan of the wigs...

    As a Pastafarian I like the wigs. I could easily see it becoming a required head covering for adherents, which can't be removed for lots of religious and legal reasons. But am happy for the construction details to remain a mystery to me.

    I'd like to see a wig video. Keith, I have a Stanley No. 45 I want to clean up. I would like to remove the tote to work on it. I'm not sure how to remove it because the pins that hold it in place cannot be driven straight through to the other side. Any suggestions on how that could be done?

    Wood wigs are an aquired taste, but to each his own I say. Just make sure to protect against termites, a nasty ailment common amoung those who use them.

    Would a 95 work well for trimming edge banding?

    • @MintStiles
      @MintStiles Год назад

      You wouldn't be able to trim it in one shot, nor will you be able to control the depths of the cut so that it doesn't get into the base substrate workpiece.

    Those nicks are the previous owner file marking on their tools. Pretty common when working on a crew with similar hand tools.
