much cleaner than the gold rush series, and no heavy machinery destroying trees, plastic pans and tweezers, your panning technique seems much better, great video very well explained
I'm going to miss our fishing trips and adventures we had mate, whenever I had a question about fishing, geography, gold you were always really excited to show me what you knew, I gained I world of knowledge from you , probably one of the nicest blokes I've ever known since I was young. I'm happy your no longer in pain Wal and now in peace and sending out big hugs and condolences to you Liz ❤️ I'm really sorry for your loss , you are his best friend and the love of his life always and forever, sending you prayers of peace and comfort 🙏 ❤️
+Ghostrider guitars ....Thanks for watching and hope you found it informative. I've been gold prospecting for just over 50 years now so I guess with time you hope to get better at what you do. . Take care and all the very best...Wal.
What I love most about the digs you two do are the grounding part of it. I'm sure at times it can be some what dangerous and lot's of physical activity involved but it's very grounding for me. Very interesting and just being one with the earth. Thanks for sharing
+2lemonades ...Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoy some aspects of the vids. Hope all's going great over your way and all the very best for for 2016. Cheers Wal.
A drop of detergent or ezi-wet solution etc. would be a bonus in the pan. The surface tension problem would disappear. Soil wetting agents at Bunnings come in all varieties.
+Myles Nicholas ...Agree with you there Myles and it certainly would be a good idea when panning out volume from a Highbanker clean out, in a flour gold area. For general prospecting where one can easily go through a couple hundred pans a day it wouldn't that feasible. Take care...Wal.
you guys are fortunate to live in the place where is gold can be find that easy, here in LA we have the san gabriel river , that a lot of people go to, but it is way harder to get gold from there, if you get any at all...
It's amazing how much I think I know then realize I know nothing really... This is another really great instructional video Walnliz and helps to keep the gold fever coarsing through my veins. Myles
+Outlander 51... I know that you know quite a lot when it comes to prospecting Myles...don't sell yourself short mate. Hope you found the vid informative to some degree and best of luck out there with the pan. Cheers Wal.
Glad you enjoyed the vid Glen and found some of the contents of benefit. Liz did have a very fine piece of flour gold on her hand, but she tells me she didn't lose a lot of sleep over it. Take care and all the best...Wal.
+TheSnobar ...Thanks for watching . When you know you have a few grams in your concentrates, no matter how good a panner one might be, it's always recommended to double pan. I've been panning for over 50 years and still stick to this basic principal. Best wishes...Wal.
Haha! I was at queens town a couple months ago, and went gold panning, however, the instructions were soooo unclear I just thought" hmmm. I'm sure data connects over here, I'll just look at one of Wal and Liz's videos!" Anyway, no luck, as I'm sure hundreds of tourists cleared out the lake. Thanks for making this Liz! Now I know go back and know what to do! Your kiwi fan - Jacob

Thank you for showing us about pannng. It helped allot. I enjoy watching both of you it has been lovely and exciting because it is my dream x God bless you both.
love your vids guys they are very very informative, would you know if there is anywhere around the gold coast area that you can find gold or sapphires???
+Umpie Thanks for watching Umpie. Unfortunately not a lot of gold or Sapphires around the Gold coast. You need to travel south to the New England region or north west to the central QLD gem fields to find consistent ground. Take care...Wal.
Could you do a video on the likely places to look for both flour gold and the nugget stuff u've pulled out with ur high banker before. Not a specific place, but the type of place you're looking for.
+NeonsStyle ...Thanks for the comment Neon and the request. A few have asked for a similar vid to what you describe, so I will put it on the to do list. I'll base it on what and why to look for specific types of geology, and how the various varieties of weathering effects the size and type of gold shedding into that region. Best of luck on the gold....Cheers Wal.
I usually just get a sieve that fits onto the top of the bucket then fill the bucket with water with the sieve on top ten just put my material in and shake it in a sort of circular motion
Glad you enjoyed the vid and found it informative 333. Best of luck for this coming season and may luck follow you around on the gold fields. Take care...Wal.
do they have battery operated industrial vacuums? use to use a plug in type when working once. is very strong. that would prob. suck up all the bits of dry dirt crevice between the bedrock 👍
Good on ya mate, only been out once so far, and got sun burnt on the knees...that was over two weeks ago, and still peeling, my fault forgot the sunscreen. Oh Wal, i have practised that speed panning technique, it's a beauty to getting through material quick.
Hey guys, Love your videos they are super informative! I was wondering if you have tried a gold cube for fine gold retrieval instead of a regular highbanker? They are excellent for getting even the small float gold. Thx for all the great vids!
+bigdaddy4432 ...Thanks for watching. We tend to go for volume when prospecting and have tried the Gold Cubes but find they don't process quick enough. Hope good luck is following you around on the gold fields. Cheers Wal.
+YFZMoto ... Thanks for watching Moto. This region is a favorite one for us, even though it only contains very fine flour gold. The gold here is a real challenge to catch in a dish, but it certainly lets you know if your technique is a little lacking. All the very best...Wal.

Only thing I find annoying is all the Fools gold sitting on top of the sand near the banks and sometimes when I come across a newbie I play games with them saying they hit the jackpot, but always tell them the truth after a bit of a giggle and help them out.
+Aussie survival UFO Hunter ...There is quite a bit of mica in the sand out there, but it floats off very fast once in the pan. Great to see you helping the newbies out, as It's a great training ground out on that river. Take care and all the best...Wal.
