Reggie Gutteridge is one of the best boxing commentators on ITV. My favourite Reg Gutteridge fights on ITV on the microphone. Leonard and Duran 2 forty-four years ago. Leonard and Hearns 1 forty-three years ago. & Hagler and Hearns thirty-nine years ago. I enjoy reading Reg's copy of the Big Punchers which featured Sugar Ray Robinson, Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano, Randolph Turpin, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. Muhammad Ali visiting Reg Gutteridge while he was hospitalised in London thirty five years ago.
David i really appreciate your uploads , they're quality for any british boxing fan.. please keep em coming if you still can , just wanted to let you know that they're appreciated .. ta mate COYI
Any of Reg's great fight commentaries that I go for are Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran in their rematch, thirty-seven years ago. Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns in their first fight, thirty-six years ago and of course Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns, thirty-two years ago which was a cracking fight especially the first and then Hagler knocking him out in the third.Reg also wrote his Big Punchers book, Reg Gutteridge, the voice of ITV boxing and an Arsenal fan.
The ability to know when to let the action speak for itself is a sign of a truly great commentator. Harry had it, Don Dunphy had it and so did he. See Ali Spinks 1, the final round... one of the great final rounds with Ali desperately trying to knock Spinks out knowing he's behind. Just listen.....
The best commentary from the best commentator on the two best fighters in the best fight ever
Reg gutteridge
What a absolute boxing broadcasting legend irreplaceable
RIP

Compare reg 's commentary for hearns hagler to the rubbish commentary from the Americans and see how lucky we were.
