That is the very first time I've read that joke. Verrrry clever hahaha. Besides, in most states, the guitar only has to be 16 . Furthermore, the person in possession of said guitar possibly may not exceed the age of 18 by much himself. (which changes the situation a great deal in the eyes of most state laws :)
Im not a fanboy but John will always be on my top of guitarists, when someone else make me cry when I hear a solo, then I could make another list, otherwise I stay with John like forever. 1.- John Frusciante 2.-Jimmy Page 3.- Jimi Hendrix 4.- SRV 5.- David Gilmour.
John Frusciante is a genius, do all you people only listen to Malmsteen? How boring, I would take a creative soloist who has monster chops like John any day over a perfect boring shred solo.
Jonathan ALLRED yngwie sucks as a person and as a guy who can make good music. Plays fast, but that doesn't mean shit. JF is way better creatively but I still haven't found a solo album by him that I don't find boring. Open for recomendetions.
Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt is anything but boring, same counts for Smile From the Streets you Hold, though especially the latter might be not suited for every person. be open minded. Listen to it several times. Or check out his electronica stuff, i really love the Renoise-Tracks which are avaible for free. PBX is great, Enclosure, Letur-Lefr, Foregrow. The track Same from the outside ep.... The Empyrean as a whole, more spiritual experience, Inside Of Emptiness. List could go on and on and on. There really are so many different styles to explore from him
Jonathan ALLRED Sometime you have to be more melodic than being a shredder, shredding has no soul, no feelings just fast notes, that's why i prefer John Frusciante over Hundreds of shred guitarists
Yea, +Haysuse, but not according to her. And I'm sure that she's glad she doesn't know more about him...she gets really upset about young people who go through extreme situations.
I just like John for being John. Why must people always compare? Just enjoy it for what it is, good music. If you don't like, then just turn it off and listen the stuff you like. It's just that easy.
the second solo, when he has the red hair....that is just incredible....that is a legendary performance....ive never heard a guitar make some of thos noises before. O_O
Where is the show at 3:02 from? He looks like he did when he was a junkie and was playing with his junkie band around 1996 but i am not sure considering it doesn't really sound like other stuff he did that time but who knows.
Look up on youtube Rock and Blues Electric Guitar Solo Lesson - Blues Rock Lick on Gibson by Marty Schwartz but instead of picking you are strumming. John usually adds wah and or distortion to it too, doesn't in this clip though.
It is actually a show he played during his drug years when out of the Chili Peppers. 1997, at the Viper Room. It is an improvisation, not a solo to any song
John has great respect for Jimi and his contributions to music, he even credits Hendrix's "Little Wing" as being one of the songs that really piqued his interest in guitar. Just search something like "John Frusciante on Jimi Hendrix" or "John Frusciante influences" and listen to John's thoughts in his own words. Then, consider Jimi's influences, blues powerhouses like Muddy Waters, and B.B. King, and Robert Johnson. Then saying John is a wannabe Jimi is like saying football is a wannabe fútbol.
lol, I'm sorry, that was funny. The note before the feedback wasn't a harmonic though. Anyway, he just rings out a note and sustains it til it dies out; but you can also do a vibrato on a string without actually plucking / strumming them and get feedback. Single coils are very sensitive and when the strings gets quiet, it gives higher rate for feedback to occur; The cranked-up amp does most of the magic, too.
Not going to be popular saying this, but I have never been a rhcp fan. I love John's solo stuff though...some of the best music I have ever heard. I love his playing in "My Smile is a Rifle"...not so much his singing in that one though, lol.
Both the previous list, and this suggested array are ridiculously narrow in their focus. What about guitarists like Jeff Beck who are not known for fretboard gymnastics but have emotion in their playing which most would kill for, or Zappa for his originality and ability in writing, or Marr for his structuring and arrangement? There are so many more too, tese are off the top of my head. But the thing is, John Frusciante possesses all of the traits I mentioned, and is as such one of the greats.
I did shook his hand (well, not exactly, was actually a high 5) and it was in LA after the 3rd RHCP I had seen and it was 1990 and he was this crazy little young kid and I thought...."Holy shit, he is even better than Hillel!!!!!!"
Slash IS a great guitar player, I love watching Guns n' Roses videos during the late 80's because Slash plays with more feeling than anyone during that era. He was one of the only 80's guitar players that wasn't a Eddie Van Halen copy.
Jeff Beck has emotion yeah but his phrasing(I don't know the term in inglish, for who knows 'Fraseggio') is insane not as Jimi but god he's one of the best.
Reminds a bit of Jimi Hendrix, in the sense that he literally has the ability to make a guitar sing.
AutomobileFunk Lol, you are an amateur in your opinion! Check out his work first before passing judgment😀
00:44-02:32 HOLY FUCK
guitar got pregnant
Razormane MastiC Ikr. I don't like that type of John. I like under the bridge type of john
And that kids, is how you make love to a guitar.
Chickenbeek that was a small part of his life, and i doubt hed like to be remembered for that
Steven RHCP freak 1:16 literally
Nick Shillito yes xD
Ok
The first one gives me the feels so hard. John Frusciante is a Demi God, I just adore his spirit.
1:17 - 1:26 I hope that guitar was over 18.
Adrian Melendez that is an early '70s or late '60s Fender Stratocaster. I hope it was over 18 lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@Cesar0787 lmao 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
John is the most soulful guitarist.
Im not a fanboy but John will always be on my top of guitarists, when someone else make me cry when I hear a solo, then I could make another list, otherwise I stay with John like forever.
1.- John Frusciante
2.-Jimmy Page
3.- Jimi Hendrix
4.- SRV
5.- David Gilmour.
Great list for me all of those plus Prince and Jeff Beck
That transition between 3:00 and 3:02 is a sin
couldn't say it better mate
John Frusciante is a genius, do all you people only listen to Malmsteen? How boring, I would take a creative soloist who has monster chops like John any day over a perfect boring shred solo.
Indeed!!

Yea, +Haysuse, but not according to her. And I'm sure that she's glad she doesn't know more about him...she gets really upset about young people who go through extreme situations.
2:42 .... he is a genius.
At about 2:20, I'm pretty. Sure the spirit of Hendrix had just been summoned.
at 2:21, I'm almost certain, you can SEE him pass by to the right of John.

SLOW DEATH HOOKS Ha over 18 my ass😂😂😂 John was barely 18 in some of these...
that concert is in Kawasaki, club Citta 1990 after the song subway to venus
Not going to be popular saying this, but I have never been a rhcp fan. I love John's solo stuff though...some of the best music I have ever heard. I love his playing in "My Smile is a Rifle"...not so much his singing in that one though, lol.
this guy has clearly influences of the totally supreme jimi hendrix

Untitled #10 from his album Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt. =D

Your comment made me laugh out loud! ;-)) First time I heard this. Excellent!
1:19 I just hope that guitar was over 18.
great HD!
Slash IS a great guitar player, I love watching Guns n' Roses videos during the late 80's because Slash plays with more feeling than anyone during that era. He was one of the only 80's guitar players that wasn't a Eddie Van Halen copy.
1989

There's a time when the apprentice grows and finally counter his master. But seriously, John is Hendrix 2.0. The better version.
that is john, right after he joined, he looked way different back then
He used to make noice in the past. So good he changed in the late 90s
Hendrix Religion ;)
John
To watch John straddle his guitar, wow. SEXY.
Jeff Beck has emotion yeah but his phrasing(I don't know the term in inglish, for who knows 'Fraseggio') is insane not as Jimi but god he's one of the best.
I remember watching John and being so enraptured by him.
this is perhaps true, but so far.. no one has surpassed.. they have come close though. Don Ross. Check him out.. Insane guitarist
Jimi taught God to play
woah...inspiration
I wonder if anything as epic as them will ever come to earth again.
yep.
Fucking amazing. Every guitar he plays, becomes his bitch.
This guy, Clapton, Hendrix, SRV and Trower all make me proud to play a strat. Oh, Gilmour too.
