Is this on a sand bar? You respect the oceans power. I've been knocked down once by an 6ft wave. Thanked God I relaxed and went with it! Never again! Like he says always be alert around the ocean! I hope the dog is Allright.
This looks like Goat Rock on the Sonoma Coast, where the Russian River empties. I experienced this exact phenomenon there and we know better than to turn our backs on that surf. When you are well above the surf line on the jetty, you wouldn't think this can happen but here you go...
I live on Oregon Coast and we're always on high alert with logs bouncing in on those waves. Surf like this is a pretty average day on the beach, respect the glorious but unforgiving sea.
It's not a lake, it has a tide, it's influenced by flow of rivers, weather, and can change in an instance. And people just don't listen. Alaska has 40' tides ,even living on the Oregon coast for 70 years didn't prepare me for that. Lucky I knew not to turn my back on it.
It's clearly creating a current that can drag you out to sea. I'm not an expert but hello how obvious can it get? How are people not understanding this??
@nah-okomg you are an ‘idiot’……..’understand the beach’!!!! 😂 What a ridiculous, thick comment….are you an American by any chance? because that would make a lot of sense! 🙄🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@inverse2k1 surfers go out further and in more dangeroud spots then buddy with his dog and they make it out most of the time, good to know how to escape rip tides tho
And surfers have boards to float on. And wet suits. The person playing with the dog did not. Have been around water all my life; I would not put myself in that position let alone the dog. Combination of tide, wave power, debris in the water. All very dangerous.
All I can say is it’s a good job I wasn’t there because that man would’ve ended up in hospital after treating that poor dog like that you can quite clearly see the dog is trying to get away.
People in the comments have apparently never been to the beach before lmao. The scariest thing that happened was the debris washing up, but even that's not a big deal.
Except for maybe getting knocked in the head by a log if you were in the water & didn't see it, I don't see the danger or problem here. Increasing wave action looks like it _might_ mean those on the sand bar may have to swim across now. But they might also have an escape right or left, where they could still walk back. I'm lost. Disappointed.
Some safety points to consider. 1. Take note of tidal times, rate of rise and fall and by how much. 2. Sand banks are notorious for causing riptides. 3. Always keep an eye out for the direction of the tide. 4. Every 6th wave is a biggie. 5. Always let someone know where you are and for how long. 6. Always keep your mobile charged and handy in a water proof case.
Was the dog okay me personally if I was recording and seen that I'd call out to the dog... hey how about next time go closer and record that would be really cool to see the how the water breaks close up.
The dog and it’s owner are fine due to the fact the “idiot” owner has forgotten more about the local tides than the “experts’ in the comment section will ever know
I did not get the point of this video. Why you never turn your back on the Ocean? No one was at any time overcome by a wave or in distress. This was a fun day and everyone was safe. There are just people who are fundamentally fearful of the ocean.

4 minutes of my life that I'll never get back....
The dog kept trying to get the guy to hurry outta there.
😮
😢
I think the poor dog is a bit smarter than him

I was only concerned about the dog, not the idiot owner.
Same

That guy with the dog isn't very smart.

The tide is actually influenced by the moon.
It helps if you know the tide times when you're on a sandbar!

Lifelong surfer here. That situation is absolutely not dangerous unless you're a quadriplegic out of your wheelchair
And people wonder why we get the leaders we get. They vote.
inland perception of danger
The situation was changing pretty quickly ..
Everyone is happy, the point here is the timber log suddenly floating in and yes: flotsam can obviously be dangerous.
Sneaker waves next you will find yourself in a Rip Current
Relaxing in a place where there is raging ocean behind and in front of you, brilliant idea
You would love the Outer Banks of NC.
The whole life is a risk. Poor Mindset
@@badbinder2712 looking for death on an outer sandbar is not my idea of enjoying life.

That dog! I was screaming at the owner to remove the dog!
The tide is clearly coming in and they are hanging out on what will soon be a sandbar under the surf.
The ocean is closing in on them
The guy with the dog was pretty chill. He must be local cos I’d have scooped up the dog and ran like my life depended on it.
ME TOO BUDDY.. IM LIKE WTF ARE THEY WAITING ON 🎉🎉🥳🖖AN INVITATION🎟🎫🚄🚅🚆🚋🍓🍓🥤⏳🥪🥪🍑🍓🍹🍹🍹🍹
It's a good thing Lassie was there to warn them.
I worried about the dog , couldn't give a damn about its stupid owner, what was he thinking.
I was expecting the dude with the dog to scoop him up and get to a safer ground 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾prayer paws unite for the dog 🐕🐕🐕
Poor dog, I hope it was ok
I feel sorry for the dog....
What dog
@@CarWashTec251are you blind

Weirdo
Having fun but inhaling salt water as it’s sprinting to fetch
Type of people to keep their dog locked in the house on a velvet pillow

I literally cant tell what happened.. no one swept away? No one hit by log? People standing in shallow water where they can walk back?
The tide was rising surrounding them. They should have got out of way
Click bait title.
First ever video of a rock magicaly transporting in history.
Can we assume that was high tide coming in?
I had to stop watching I fear the dog could have been swept out to sea.😮 Im sorry he should have not been that close. IMO
So, why do I never ever turn my back on the ocean?
Is fun to watch the Dog go Enjoy the Waves it seems like is having fun lol.

I can’t figure out what I’m looking at
Same here...normal tide? All of a sudden there's no beach visible...
K Marie I suspect it's a sand bar or spit as water keeps draining towards camera position

DJBDOGG EDINBURGH SCOTLAND 😎
Me too. 😮
Just the tide rising and people are freaking out like it's dangerous
I hope no fish got hurt 'cause they're always turning their backs on the ocean.
That escalated quickly
IQs are less than two grains of sand from that beach.
Tide coming in, so what
this video was BS
So what happened
The dog is having a blast! 😊
It would be funny and odd to see everyone walking backward away from the Beach when they were done
"Never turn your back on the ocean" ya unless your surfing then you dont have much choice
The god is panicking. I hope he's ok.
The mesmerising ocean!
Nice place to stay 👌 🙂
The ocean is beautiful but bipolar. U never know when its going to erupt. Its unpredictable. Its a madman. It has no conscience.
Damn it!
Superb 👍
i want the 4 minutes back!
The tide
Cool
Only when your droppen in!
Wow did you see that giant eel at the end????
I always turn my back on the ocean

The Texas coast has 750 foot tides. This is nothing.
yea ankle deep water is very dangerous
Looks like Waimea Bay, Hawaii
🥶
The MG3. Scary dude
Instead of just filming them shout out and make them aware of what's happening
What do you think is happening?
If you can't handle the ocean stay away from it. Otherwise that surf was no big deal for anyone that grew up playing in the ocean.

yep

The video is very long.. Nothing important. Bad.
Thumbs down
I don't think this is a good beach to visit and relax I considere is to dangerous
