This contest inspired me to build my first "completed" sandbox park and I had a really fun time making it. I will continue to work on my skills and will work on my queues ;) You guys honestly had me crying from laughter from some of your comments! l0l THE WORM, yeah the entrance to Lake Compounce irl is just a massive tunnel so i tried to recreate that feeling. It's a really great beginner park. Unfortunately this competition was all about theming and I feel it lacked a lot there as it was a "generic" theme park. Some of the rides didn't have much in the way of skins either. As a recreation it's awesome but overall I feel it's not in the spirit of the contest.
Agreed, all of the pathwork and queues that were not part of the main drag were pretty bland. I found the coaster itself to be quite fun, although short.
Nice mini-park! I liked the buildings and carnival games, they all had some nice details to them. Also, I like the elevation this mini-park has, it makes it more interesting to look at than if it was completely flat. I've never been to lake compounce, so I can't compare it to this mini-park, but I know that boulder dash explores the woods, and is mostly surrounded by trees. I know it's just inspired by the real ride, but I think a few shrubs and trees would make it a lot better. Also, as Jonny and Fuaranna said, a lot of the queues were quite plain. Even if it's meant to be a realism theme, there could still do with some wooden trims and supports holding the paths and rocks up. The flat rides were all positioned nicely, but they were all lacking in some scenery. But still, not a bad entry for the beginner bracket!

Hey Johnny, just thought I'd let you know out that exclamation mark on the balloon is the logo for a British charity called SpecialEffect that helps children with disabilities with accessibility to video games. Really cool charity!
The Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce is a CCI wooden coaster, but in this version of Lake Componce in Planet Coaster, it looks like it's been converted into an early day RMC hybrid like New Texas Giant.

I really like how realistic this is as a park. It's quite well themed in the "generic" way as others have pointed out. The coaster definitely needs some work though, especially smoothing it out and banking it more in certain areas to minimise the Gs to safer levels.
The reason for that “worm” I think is because before you enter the park irl you need to go thru security and you go under a highway bridge so it creates a tunnel effect which I guess is what he was trying to replicate

It was the smaller version of Lake Compounce even tho it’s already small for me lol. I like this concept tho. Taking an actual park and making it a small version. Theming is well. I like the island idea. Very good job.
Don't know how accurate it is as a recreation, if it's exactly like this IRL then great job, if it's not then more liberty should have been taken with the theming. Nice layout & still quite pretty though
i go to lake compounce atleast 3 times a year, i will say this is quite realistic, but only in some parts like the enterance and other parts like that, Boulder dash in unrealstic in most of the parts there isnt a zoomerang, Wild cat, Phobia, and so many others and the ques are un realisitc

I guess I'm not cool since I've never been to Lake Compounce. Though that's kind of a weird name for a park. To me it sounds like a name for a prison. I would like to go there one day now that I've heard of it, especially if it's all-you-can-drink free soda. I'd just spend the whole day getting refills.

One of my favorite local parks. Boulder Dash at night is a magical experience.

I liked this recreation. It has that small park feel that the actual park has in real life. It's fun and traditional.
This was my moms home park! She grew up in Southern Connecticut and I've always wanted to go!
