I've played both and much prefer FATE. For me it feels like a big sandbox and I love how the system encourages collaboration, I think the FATE campaigns I've played in the past feel more unique and are way more memorable than the D&D campaigns (even though I've had great fun with both systems). Great video mate!

@@BananaBreakdown im a big fan of PbtA-games if you got experience with some of those. (I've played dungeon world and monster of the week personally, getting into the ATLA rpg rn. the former feels like the weakest one to me, given that it's just "dnd lite". There's a boatload of other games from that family that look great to me too though, like city of mist or the veil)
This doesn't feel like a legitimate comparison between two systems, it feels like an advertisement for FATE. "See how crunchy and complex and nerdy D&D is? Well FATE is just like, so easy and casual!"
Why did you not talk about the other game systems that uses fate like atomic robo and Secrets of cats. Or systems that found that fate is so good they borrowed from it like Cortex Prime.

So to answer I focused more on comparing the core systems of D&D and FATE to keep things simple for viewers who might be newer to both. But you’re right that those other systems definitely should’ve been talked about too. Maybe that’s a topic for a future video? Thanks again for bringing it up!
@@BananaBreakdown a good reason to mention books like those in this video is because it seemed in the video like D&D had extra setting materials, but Fate had none. Like the ton of PWYW official PDFs from Fate Worlds.
FATE always win. It makes a better system hands down. Even dnd is played better in Fate.
I do love fate tbh I know the community is smaller but hopefully more people will learn it!
