Hi man I was looking for someone who is not biased and was clearly not sponsored. Every major channel caters to their sponsor and the mass hype, they are scared to share opinions and it’s very obvious. Gameranx for example was my go to channel but this guy only gives 1-2 negatives that are small and makes all AAA games sound amazing. This review was refreshing and honest, massively appreciated. Covered all the points no one else did and gave reasonings, hope your channel blows you deserve it.
WH40k also has a rabid fanbase that is glazing the game heavily... it's too hard to get an unbiased review of the game past the "moderately enjoyable" campaign -- the RPG-ification of the endgame, just to create artificial grind, is really a shitty design that also adds a bunch of "filler" things that will obviously just be ignored in favor of whatever "meta" the devs dictate with their balance changes.......... Wish we could just have a "live service" game that doesn't need arbitrary "stats" to level up - pick a class, weapon, then a mission and go... *maybe* a few "abilities" to use, but the weapon mastery, class levels, and talents/perks are all just padding to keep people engaged with the barebones Operations mode post-campaign.
Yeah some of WWZ's perks were terrible like get 10% ammo back if you kill an enemy with the 4th hit of your melee weapon on a 30s cooldown. Some of them were broken like Fixer getting their ammo bag refunded if 2 allies use it.

Always surprised me that the HD community talked so much about this game the way they did. There's like maybe two similarities, but really these are two completely different kinds of games. I think it was the "fine, I'm leaving, watch me!" drama queen types wanting to point at something they're totally leaving for.
a bad hack and slash at that as well. The fact that you can't regain missing health from executions anymore made me feel like I had to hide, almost like it was a cover shooter except without the cover mechanic
You can play Tactical or Heavy if you want to play like shooter. Especially tactical cause you have a lot of variety for guns about 8 weapons to master. But I think that's the challenge in the game try to manage the ammo in guns especially in Substantial-Ruthless difficult and the guns were not useless at all most of bolters are good but you have to be organized with ammo as I. Mentioned before
I've always been confused as to why people compare this game to Helldivers. It's not supposed to be like Helldivers, nor is it in any way like Helldivers.
All the HD doomtubers overhyped this game. Its good in its own way. Campaign was made for 40k nerds, ops are repetitive since they are not randomly generated like HD, pvp fun. Other than that, cautiously optimistic for the sept 17th update
@@marcoslopez127 Every game is repetitive, but playing the same 6 completely linear maps over and over is objectively more repetitive than procedurally generated open environments.
@@marcoslopez127HD2 is much less repetitive in my opinion, I mean you had meaningful weak spots on some enemies and with map generation almost puts you in a different situation everytime.
most legit review i ever seen, most reviewers seems afraid to critc the game, since its been so hype so far and you actually covered my concerns for long terms replayablity but other reviewers didnt.
I was going to pick this one up but I changed my mind when review copies came out and I saw there were only 6 co-op operations. I've played a lot of L4D/Vermintide/Darktide and that's just not enough maps, it's going to get super repetitive. Gonna hold out on this one until it gets some of that promised post-launch support.
You should never buy it for the Operations mode, you should buy it for the Campaign. The Operations and PvP are side modes. There's only gonna be like 2 new operation missions in an entire year.
@@pedrojustice Don't listen to @TheBigMeetch Devs are wanting to push Operations mode. No one bought this game just for the campaign, let's be real. There's clearly a demand for its PVE missions, much like Vermintide, Darktide, etc. and the Devs know this.
It's a decent game, solid 7/10. I'm sure if you're a Warhammer 40K fan, it's probably closer to a 9/10. My main gripe is the terrible server issues during early access period, which means on launch it will be far worse. Otherwise, I also really dislike how it's 3 player instead of 4 player coop in Operations and it's there can only be one person per class... I understand it's for balance, but balance be damned in PvE - at least let people pick the same class so they can play what their heart desires.
I am having a blast with SM2 coming in from level 104 in HD2. They are both really fun and legacy gamings channel has a lot more in depth content for SM2.
This review is really on point. its a very 2010s game. Average difficulty feels about correct to play. the campaign can get grating with the empty hallways and constant elevator/door/long empty corridors. it feels like time passed this game by. this can make it feel old-school and refreshing, but also kind of dated in its mission and weapon design.
thanks for going against the grain. Fun core and really beautiful but such a tedious grindfest. Why progression is locked per class rather than being universal is insane if you're someone that can't just nolife the game all day.
Id say if you do are on the fence, waiting a month or two might be a good idea. It seems seasonal content doesn't disappear so watching an eye on the game for a bit and seeing the direction might be the play. That's what I am doing at least. Who knows we may be uninterested now or see flaws but be slaughtering by Christmas.
Would you argue that Helldivers 2 has better gameplay loop than Space Marine 2? Despite all its shortfalls. I suspect that’s the case but want to hear it.
I personally much prefer HD2. I think SM2 has a lot going for it and it is a fun hack and slash/arcade game that has some sort of skill progression and grind but its just such a linear combat experience. Follow the path and kill everything along that path, over and over and over, the same path, with the same enemies just in different spots. HD2 is much more a tactical shooter. It's a full 3d battlespace, that makes you consider whether or not you are going to accidentally kill your whole team with a misplaced orbital barrage. Yea there's no meaning full grind or customization or perk tree but the way SM2 has set them up,, no thanks. Ill upgrade my ship modules and happily sit on my max samples in exchange for a better overall combat experience.
Space marine has way better armor and weapon customization that I wish Helldivers would get but AH is too stubborn. Overall, Helldivers 2 is still better imo. I’m still enjoying SM2 though.
HD2 has the randomness in it because of the loadout combinations. If AH can buff more of the loadout items (creating more options/randomness) they will breath more life into their game.
It sounds like the game has a really solid base and that it's not far from being amazing, but it needs both the playerbase and the devs to recognize where it falls short.
I was able to spam Dodge roll the entire game while reloading and doing every action possible and clearing through the campaign in less than 4 hours. It felt like putting a circle peg into a circle hole
FINALLY! Someone who is reviewing the game and isn't corrupted by hype. This game is indeed a very average 6/10 game. There's too many issues with the core gameplay loop and combat for it to be rated higher. I couldn't believe the reviews this game was getting, I refunded it on steam after 6 hours because i just couldn't take it anymore.
The devs need to seriously focus on building bigger coop DLCs. I hate it when there's so much focus on PvP when the real fun is in coop. We need more maps for more replayability. And yeah, having more difficult enemies and then making ammo more scarce on higher difficulties IS NOT FUN!! All it does is frustrate. This sounds a lot like what another dev has been doing recently with NERFS. The devs better address this.
Thanks for the honest review I'm a huge 40k fan but what other people have been saying just wasn't all adding up. Maybe it's years of experience in perfect and 40k game go together like chocolate and sewer. Sure there may be a delicious treat in there somewhere but it's going to be dirty work to find it.
This is a great game for 40k fans but if you've played Vermintide 2 and Darktide extensively, there's nothing novel other than the aesthetic on offer here.

People need to respect space marine as its OWN thing. You cant put it on the same pedestal as helldivers 2. Especially since the two function completely differently
Thank you for an honest review. Seems like most of what ive seen is warhammer fanboys yelling from the mountain tops how great it is. Im not saying it looks bad, i just cant justify paying full price for this
I played this game and was heavily disappointed, it dosent feel like I'm playing as a space marine at all too weak and no power to dish out, sm1 made you feel like a true superhuman warrior this one he'll no.
The approach to difficulty is a shame because a better approach to having tyranids be more difficult from increased spawns to swarm you would be more impactful in law
Theres so many glizzy gladiators on space marine 2 i think they actually all came over from helldivers to defend their new holy grail of dissapointment.
I feel like i am being gaslit by the gaming community on this one. People say it is great that it has no grinding when all the PvE is is grinding. People saying great that it isn't a live service game, when it is a live service game. People are saying it's great that it has no microtransactions, when the DLC is exclusively armour cosmetics. I'm genuinely confused as to whether or not we are talking about the same game when i discuss it.
I don’t necessarily disagree with your review man, and I’ve only just started playing the campaign and one or 2 ops. Spoongy enemies are kinda meh not fun to shoot, the fact that even the basic Hortagans take several shots or slices from your melee is kinda bad, though who knows if that’s what 40K table top is like. The customization is great though, spent around half or a little under half of my 5 hours of playtime so far just customizing the different classes to how I’ll like them for now until I can get more points to unlock more visual items. I never actually thought that this would be the HD2 killer, but I wanted something that felt good to play and didn’t BS me with “realism” balance nonsense. That said the devs, provided they follow through with their claims on Twitter and social media, are already doing better than Arrowhead has ever done in the past 7 months. If they actually listen and make changes, additions etc. based on player feedback, they already have AH beat in the actual customer service realm. I’m still getting the melee timing of combat, for me it’s a bit more difficult than most players I think. Poor hand-eye coordination so timing those counters is rough, especially when there’s so much stuff on your screen.
This is literally a world war z game with sm make up. wwz players know exactly what they get into. The 6 map grind to oblivion is real. They will add more classes , maps and prestige ranks with new perks so u can repeat that cycle. That kind of grind is not for everyone. nonetheless i am looking forward to try it on world premiere .
Helldivers is a simulation, and randomness space marines is a linear fully scripted experience I dont see myself playing space marines for a long time Helldivers on the other hand i already have 300 hours and not even bored
Helldivers is not a simulation and helldivers is literaly the most repetitive game of the year you have literaly three differents mission and the weapons become shit, no story mode, no story. You just need one hour to see the repetitive gameplay
I don't get how people can say this game's repetitive yet. Helldivers 2 isn't when it's the most repetitive game I've played in years. I love hell divers but every time I land on the planet I know exactly what I'm going to do and what's going to happen. What's random are the maps and the enemy spawns that's it
Also it's really weird hearing all of this. space marine one was kinda a space marine power fantasy, you needed to be up in enemy's faces to heal because executions were the only way to restore your HP and the execution/finisher would fully restore your health. there was also a devil trigger mode but i've not played the game for like 5 years. shooting weapons were largely okay, against Chaos they were necessary because even the basic ass cultist could drop enough fire to really hurt you. of course the OG was all pre numarines so you had the older armour designs which look better to me. grinding does sound like the OG though
The sound design is so bad and mixing too I pretty much refunded the game for the sound The bolters sounds worse than some generic pistol in a random milsim you can see popping out everywhere
I’m a light 40k fan,had interests, consumed some of its media (DoW2 and the first SM game) And for me space marines should be a bunch of super hero with guns shouting righteous and emperor will grant u buff for more melee damage And turns out You get 2 shot by the common melee enemy You are running everywhere looking for ammo The gun that suppose to shoot .75 caliber rocket propelled high explosive round does about 3 damage and sounds even weaker And some how we get less healing than regular helldivers Now I feel guilty been too harsh on helldivers2 Cus somehow the super hero space marines can’t match the power level of a regular diver with liberator and some random stratagems
Yeah i kinda just want to kill a bunch of stuff and not worry about ammo and healing so much.. Much less the grinding part. Im old lol i dont have time to grind. I just want to play. Sadly this game doesn't look like its for me
the weapons don't feel impactful, and the damage sponge enemies don't help that in any way when its the main form of difficulty increase. I feel like Helldivers nailed it by not arbitrarily increasing the HP and dmg of each enemy as you go up in difficulty, but increases variety and quantity. Shooting basic mobs with a bolter more than once to kill them with this ammo economy feels bad, and the melee feels worse than the previous entry in the series due to how they changed the health regen
It still blows my mind how games like this already have blueprints to look back on, and yet they still fuck it up in some way. Making the gameplay's difficulty by zuccing all your resources is one of the worst ways of making the game more "challenging", especially in a horde shooter. Just gimmie more dudes to whack off, or give them the funny damage numbers. Whats with co-op games being afraid to make us powerful recently?
It’s not just low resources that bugged me Doom 2020 too have you carry about 20 buckshots But in dooms case the resource is interactive You have chainsaw for ammo, flamethrower for armor and execution for hp You will end up dancing in the arena swapping guns looking for the next victim and dodging incoming fire In SM2s case You have no ammo, you do little damage and you have no meaningful way to recover hp
Agree. There should be limited resources but being starved should only happen on certain levels as a particular challenge, it's shouldn't be a constant thing. Doom 1 and 2 and halflife 1 did it perfectly.
I think it's darktide 2.0 core gameplay is fun but there is lack of content that most reviewers won't catch onto because they only play same game for a week at most.
yup, it has potential oddly enough. it requires way too much time investment to get to the point you can actually play the game the way it's "intended"
I bought this game wanting to feel like a space marine. Left just wanting to play darktide or anything else. You can’t heal without stims and the guns feel like tissue paper paper.
This is definitely not replacing Helldivers. It feels incomplete, half the weapons are lackluster, gameplay gets boring quickly, scavenging for ammo with a horde of nids chasing you is just shitty game design and not increasing the difficulty. Levels are linear, which isn’t a bad thing in most cases, but with a gameplay loop this shallow it makes for an absolutely stagnant experience It’s not quite the game I was promised. They need to work on some things, which allegedly they are doing so I’ll give them a point for that
I'm not entirely sure this would go well with the community, but I would prefer that the smaller ammo pickups were removed, leaving only the full resupplies, and that in every area we faced a couple of waves of enemies with a random few heavier enemies and also an obscene amount of small ones. But maybe that would get stale too quick. As for the weapons, I've been playing boltgun and I'm not sure why they didn't just copy that roster and then balanced them for this game.
Feels fresh to hear an honest review.. I knew this would be repetitive and lack in variety of enemies.. it does remind me of gears of war .. anyway thanks for an honest opinion
I understand you’re a fan of Helldivers 2 and involved with it professionally, so your opinion on Space Marines 2 might naturally lean in that direction.
This game should be called Imperial Guardsman 2. The first game made you feel like a space marine (even on the highest difficulty), while this game made them look like pussies.
I think it's a buy for Warhammer 40k fans. I completely agree though, also something to add are the menus, I found it odd that you couldn't just hop on the co-op or pvp without loading the campaign first. Making you go through useless loading screens. Also customizations don't save. Hopefully they fix these things before the official release. It's definitely not the helldiver 2 killer some people thought.
Helldivers itself is doing that by itself tbo. Anytimes anyones bring up the "x game" killer narrative it makes me wanna bash my head againt the fucking wall, so fucking stupid.
I’ve noticed that people that mainly hype this game up are warhammer fans, rightfully so. As someone who spent 4 hours on the ps5 version and ultimately got a refund yesterday, I agree with everything he’s saying, I would also add the multiplayer UI is awful but hopefully they fix it… there isn’t even a dedicated multiplayer menu lol if you’re not a fan (like myself) and know nothing about it, then it’s just an ok game, the gameplay is very barebones and compare it to early 2010s shooters. A mix of wwz and gears of war, but that’s about it. The gameplay loop is closer to wwz actually, it’s nothing like helldivers
Too many people cant look critically at something they like. Or make their opinion part of their personality and it becomes a crusade to justify its existence. Im a massive warhammer fan, huge fan of SM1 as well, and I wish I could get a refund for this. Its a really pretty husk inhabited by lack luster gameplay design
Eternal war has the same vibe for me as the 1st game did. Its more entertaining than the campaign so far. Shame we cant customise the traitor legions. 6/10 is right tho.
No, it's not. It should at least be a 7-hour 10 most disguy's complain is the fact that it's not more like hell divers 2 which is wrong. But the animal complaints. How can you complain about ammo in a hack and slash game. If he played Space marine 1, he would realise this game is superior in every way and deserves at least a 7 out of 10
@@ironmangx-ro8mt The melee combat is inferior in this game. Your weapons and your skill with the weapons dont matter. Your main application of damage is through the parry/dodge/reaction mechanics Thats not good gameplay. 6/10 is correct. its a very average game in very pretty clothes
I appreciated this a lot. Seems like a lot of people are still in the honeymoon phase. I'm still looking to pick this up, but I do like being able to set my expectations.
Spent the last 2 days playing this, absolutely worth the buy. Decent customization for cosmetics, lots of variety and options for weapons and their owrks, classes have a great skill tree, and the gameplay is amazing especially in the co-op.
I appreciate you being honest. The game is fine. It’s a solid 6/10. People are eager for games like this that are sort of a reminder of how games used to be, and I appreciate that. But this isn’t a fantastic game.
I don't really enjoy Warhammer at all but I'm having a blast with Space Marine 2. Sure bigger enemies are tanky and ammo needs to be heavily managed, but there are loads of ways of dealing with these issues. I think anyone who thought this game should even remotely be compared to a live service like HD2 were going in setting themselves up for disappointment. It ain't that kind of game. It's your classic third person shooter from the late 2000's/early 2010's and it is stellar at being that. Can't wait for more content down the road!
I Do agree they need to do somthing about the ammo and stim issue. I mean you end up fighting your teammates for ammo and stims. That isnt fun thats annoying. Plus i wanted to see more enemy's not a crazy high health bar when scaling difficulty I still love this game to death but i want it to be better.
My biggest gripe with this game is that they wasted the potential of the tyranids in this game. They should've went all in and made them the only enemy, but incorporate more unique bio-forms like the neurotyrant, hive tyrant, tyrant guard, norm emissary, genestealers and others based on the new 10th edition models. Even a genestealer cult as s secondary enemy. This would probably improve model sales if marketed right
Totally right man, I was watching some other really good players tackle the game and they were struggling hard to understand some of the mechanics to the game as well... It seems like some of the perks have too many conditionals to meet for one effect to finally take off, which for a 3rd person action shooter is just not really good feeling and random... Im not the biggest WH40k fan, but I was really pumped to get the game too, but was initially turned off by the 90-100 Dollar fee just to test things early... Im hoping that after the First Patch and the Devs taking some of your guy's critique, they do rework and retool some things and get it to where it feels good. The PVP is tacked on but it seems to be at least operational, but the PVE which is supposed to be the lifeblood of this game seems really unfair and random. Keep testing things man and we're all hopefully waiting for feedback of this game getting better to finally get some of us into this game. Hopefully they dont fuck up like Helldivers 2 and keep nerfing shit till no ones around anymore....
So youre moaning about higher difficulty while having underleveled classes for them? How about making a review AFTER you have propriety levels and builds to do the highest level? You also need proper enemy assignments and class combos with fitting builds for it for highest difficulty. You have a lvl 1 tactical, lvl 4, assault, lvl 2 vanguard, lvl 2 bulwark, level 10 heavy! Honest review???? Honest review of the game you barely have played besides campaign??? Honest review after TWENTY hours played🤣??? GTFO from here😂!
Good review, only thing I would add is once again it is a game released with lack of content, missions copy paste from the campaign, a campaign that took me 9hrs with searching everywhere, watching every cut scene, reading all the weapons in the armoury etc. Main thing I really hate is the character you play in the campaign is totally seperate to the one you play in the missions, so there is no continuation in progression which is a completely daft idea, so once you have done the campaign you are stuck just grinding 6 copy paste missions. Game needed a lot more content before release and currently other than being an amazing tech demo for the graphics engine is not worth the price!
Can't say I am a big fan of the game. The gunplay is poor, the guns mostly suck, melee is simplistic, Tyranids are such a dull enemy to fight (Give me orks or chaos marines or even Eldar). It is fun with friends, but anything is more fun with friends. 6/10 game imho, and I love 40k.
Yeah I disagree with most of your criticism. I find classes quite differentiated. I find the progression system engaging. I find the difficulty levels consistent and appropriate. Ruthless should be as hard as it is, and enemies should be bullet sponges. If you don't want to sweat take it down a notch. If I have any criticism about the game it's that the amount of content is a bit low, but the roadmap seems to be all over it...
Only reason people are disappointed is because for some reason they thought this would literally be Helldivers 3 with endless hordes and explosions everywhere. I play Helldivers 2 a shit ton and I thought it was pretty damn obvious these are 2 completely different types of games other than the hordes. Space Marines is more of a story driven game like GOW while Helldivers is a sandbox shooter
@@OhDoughCrazy you said this game is repetitive, yet HD2 is the poster child of repetitiveness. Also you made content for a gay hero shooter and the Temu Monster Hunter.. congrats I guess?
Over all I believe the game is fun but my biggest issue is the online game play trying to stay in missions or join friends for operations or story mode is pretty bad every time we fail or sometimes finish a mission the game puts you in a infinite loading screen and the only way to get out is to close the game or be kicked or to be made leader but that just puts someone else in an infinite loading screen
From the gameplay I've seen, i just get nostalgic for vermintide 2. I feel like that was peek horde slaughtering in a warhammer game. The classes in darktide felt narrow in viable options and this looks like a similar problem, but you could make multiple interesting builds for each class in vermintide, and there was like 4 classes for each character.
I guess the thing that makes this game completely unrelated to Vermintide/Darktide is that its combat system is based on QTE, as opposed to Vermin/Dark where you have to be quite a bit more skillful with your weapons, and your weapons are the primary way in which you apply damage.

This game is overhyped as fvck.
I like these "straight to the point" intros. Keeping it real as always, no BS.
World war z also has similar issues with perks, some of them are non impactful or essential for late game. Hopefully they can fix up the ammo economy.
Yeah some of WWZ's perks were terrible like get 10% ammo back if you kill an enemy with the 4th hit of your melee weapon on a 30s cooldown. Some of them were broken like Fixer getting their ammo bag refunded if 2 allies use it.
OhDough: I love that you can dye your armor
AH: 😥

they're completely different games. warhammer has chapters, helldivers has the standard issue armor, which is why we constantly get new armors.
@@levifrey1968 It mattes more when all of the medic armor looks like Christmas trees, it doesn't matter if they are different games, character customization can be a major selling point to people because it's our creation, our character.

This doesn’t replace Helldivers, no, but it is a solid game that will absolutely be a candidate for Game of the Year. Yes it is worth buying.

No where near as good as Doom, which is a 9/10 fps. This is a solid 6/10. Just like ya motha
@CAL1MBO did is say its better than doom? Lol. What are you from Twitter?
The devs are taking comments seriously and are already committed to remediating most of the things Doug is turned off about, here. They are adding classes, thinking about healing etc. None of these issues are game breaking in my opinion. I’m not a WH40K fan.
Solid comment 👌
Like HellDivers 2 though, people aren't going to be patient about these fixes. First impressions are important more than ever these days, because everyone is entitled or some BS.

Always surprised me that the HD community talked so much about this game the way they did. There's like maybe two similarities, but really these are two completely different kinds of games. I think it was the "fine, I'm leaving, watch me!" drama queen types wanting to point at something they're totally leaving for.
For me, No. There is less ammo than Helldivers. More of a hack and lash then a shooter. Hope Helldivers gets sorted on the 17th.
a bad hack and slash at that as well.
Mentioned before
There is nothing wrong in that, it makes it different and with its own identity, it doesn't have to be Helldivers 3
I've always been confused as to why people compare this game to Helldivers. It's not supposed to be like Helldivers, nor is it in any way like Helldivers.
@@Valkyrior_because people were gassing this game saying it’s gonna kill Helldivers, out of spite due to the nerfs lol

Just finished the campaign. Pretty fun. Now to start the grind for the Platinum!
Worth it! The lore is terrific.
There's only gonna be like 2 new operation missions in an entire year.
good to know, will look to buy within a sale (or a good expansion for mp... as many people want it)
@@pedrojustice Don't listen to @TheBigMeetch

It does I reckon
Space Marine 2 is meant for power fantasy, while Helldivers 2 is more about strategic and tactical gameplay.

That kind of grind is not for everyone. nonetheless i am looking forward to try it on world premiere .
Helldivers is a simulation, and randomness
space marines is a linear fully scripted experience
I dont see myself playing space marines for a long time

Helldivers is not a simulation and helldivers is literaly the most repetitive game of the year you have literaly three differents mission and the weapons become shit, no story mode, no story. You just need one hour to see the repetitive gameplay
I don't get how people can say this game's repetitive yet. Helldivers 2 isn't when it's the most repetitive game I've played in years. I love hell divers but every time I land on the planet I know exactly what I'm going to do and what's going to happen. What's random are the maps and the enemy spawns that's it

space marine one was kinda a space marine power fantasy, you needed to be up in enemy's faces to heal because executions were the only way to restore your HP and the execution/finisher would fully restore your health. there was also a devil trigger mode but i've not played the game for like 5 years.
shooting weapons were largely okay, against Chaos they were necessary because even the basic ass cultist could drop enough fire to really hurt you.
of course the OG was all pre numarines so you had the older armour designs which look better to me.
grinding does sound like the OG though
The sound design is so bad and mixing too
I pretty much refunded the game for the sound
The bolters sounds worse than some generic pistol in a random milsim you can see popping out everywhere
I’m a light 40k fan,had interests, consumed some of its media (DoW2 and the first SM game)
And for me space marines should be a bunch of super hero with guns shouting righteous and emperor will grant u buff for more melee damage
And turns out
You get 2 shot by the common melee enemy
You are running everywhere looking for ammo
The gun that suppose to shoot .75 caliber rocket propelled high explosive round does about 3 damage and sounds even weaker
And some how we get less healing than regular helldivers
Now I feel guilty been too harsh on helldivers2
Cus somehow the super hero space marines can’t match the power level of a regular diver with liberator and some random stratagems

the weapons don't feel impactful, and the damage sponge enemies don't help that in any way when its the main form of difficulty increase.
It’s not just low resources that bugged me
Doom 2020 too have you carry about 20 buckshots
But in dooms case the resource is interactive
You have chainsaw for ammo, flamethrower for armor and execution for hp
You will end up dancing in the arena swapping guns looking for the next victim and dodging incoming fire
In SM2s case
You have no ammo, you do little damage and you have no meaningful way to recover hp
Agree. There should be limited resources but being starved should only happen on certain levels as a particular challenge, it's shouldn't be a constant thing. Doom 1 and 2 and halflife 1 did it perfectly.
"Just gimmie more dudes to whack off." Hey man, it's not that kinda game.
I think it's darktide 2.0 core gameplay is fun but there is lack of content that most reviewers won't catch onto because they only play same game for a week at most.

Doesn't seem like a $60 game right now. Seems like half that.
yup, it has potential oddly enough. it requires way too much time investment to get to the point you can actually play the game the way it's "intended"
Levels are linear, which isn’t a bad thing in most cases, but with a gameplay loop this shallow it makes for an absolutely stagnant experience
It’s not quite the game I was promised. They need to work on some things, which allegedly they are doing so I’ll give them a point for that
It's not complete. Games are released early now because dev costs are so high they need cash injections to continue. This is a beta.
Pretty well marches my experience.
6 out of 10 feels right m.
Thanks for the honest review
The coolest part of this game is the scripted Tyranid spawns and you just see a wave of them rush you, before you realise you're out of ammo
likes like actual warhammer
I'm not entirely sure this would go well with the community, but I would prefer that the smaller ammo pickups were removed, leaving only the full resupplies, and that in every area we faced a couple of waves of enemies with a random few heavier enemies and also an obscene amount of small ones. But maybe that would get stale too quick.
As for the weapons, I've been playing boltgun and I'm not sure why they didn't just copy that roster and then balanced them for this game.
Lmaoo, no shekels on dress-up dolls for me

I understand you’re a fan of Helldivers 2 and involved with it professionally, so your opinion on Space Marines 2 might naturally lean in that direction.
I need to upgrade my pc for me to actually enjoy this game. My 3700x and RTX2070 Super is begging for mercy when running this game.
As someone who spent 4 hours on the ps5 version and ultimately got a refund yesterday, I agree with everything he’s saying, I would also add the multiplayer UI is awful but hopefully they fix it… there isn’t even a dedicated multiplayer menu lol
if you’re not a fan (like myself) and know nothing about it, then it’s just an ok game, the gameplay is very barebones and compare it to early 2010s shooters.
A mix of wwz and gears of war, but that’s about it.

Plus i wanted to see more enemy's not a crazy high health bar when scaling difficulty
I still love this game to death but i want it to be better.
This would probably improve model sales if marketed right
Yes. It's not a question.
6/10 is delusional, I never understood why you HD 2 fanboys were trying to hype this as a HD2 killer. I’m so happy this game is nothing like HD2
Kind of in this guy's best interest if SM2 doesn't kill HD2 too seeing it's all his channel is about
Helldivers 2 is totally the only game I've ever made content for. search by most popular.
@@OhDoughCrazy you said this game is repetitive, yet HD2 is the poster child of repetitiveness. Also you made content for a gay hero shooter and the Temu Monster Hunter.. congrats I guess?
@@silkyjohnson4208It's pretty obvious this game isn't gonna kill helldivers, no need to come up with a conspiracy about it
If that is your honest review there is no way this game will kill Helldivers 2
It doesn't need to.
Helldivers 2 screwed helldivers 2
AH killed Helldivers 2. Killed as in making the dumbest decisions
Exactly. I’m not going back to that shitshow lmao
