  • Welcome back guys! Here’s a video of me driving a 2024 Chevy Silverado Lt on its bone stock base wheels through just a bit of neighborhood snow to see how this truck faired.

I’m grateful you feel that way! 🙂 This video was actually filmed a few months ago, I just figured now that it’s Spring I shouldn’t hold onto it much longer before making it public. Lol 😂

That’s such a good idea with the auto 4WD.
    Thanks Bro .
Btw, here in Washington we have the BDR (Back Country Discovery Route). I know that they have one for Idaho as well. You might want to check it out.
We found part of the BDR that goes from Wenatchee to Ellensburg.
Six of us, (3 couples and 3 Tacoma TRDs will be taking it this June.
I’ll keep my eye open to see if your Subie can make it. I’ll let you know.
If your Outback can make it, you and your wife are welcome to stay in our Airbnb for the weekend or perhaps during the week. We’ll block the time and of course we don’t expect y’all to pay (unless you want to 😁

Yeah! I’m surprised more trucks don’t offer auto 4WD. I think you’re right, my best friend actually has a 22 TRD OR Tacoma and is planning to overland it later this year. That sounds like it could be a super fun trip someday. I would be curious to hear if you think the OBW can manage it!

I wouldn’t want you to hurt your Wilderness, but it’d be fun

The 4 auto on these GM trucks really seems to work. I wonder if it has the capability to engage a rear wheel locker if needed.

Absolutely! 4 auto is one of the best technological advances on the modern pick up trucks that offer it.

I like the GM pickups, but that low ground clearance of only about 8 inches is a big negative. The Ford F 150 is rated at 9.8 inches. There seems to be a low hanging air dam on the front of the GM trucks. I wonder if that wasn't there if the ground clearance of only 8 inches and the low approach angle of only 19 decrees would bring it up to more like the Ford F 150.
