- In this video we are in a new city in Turkey, and we spend the day exploring the sites and flavours of Izmir!! Watch as we start our day off with some Boyoz, a famous pastry here in Izmir, and get an early dessert of Izmir Bombasi (or Izmir Bomba), which are basically cookies stuffed with nutella and other goodness! We then walk along Izmir's Boardwalk known as Kondor towards an ancient agora called Smyrna before walking further through the city to Asansor (Izmir's elevator building) to get incredible views over the city! We finish our day by tasting another famous food in Izmir called Kumru!

Thanks for watching guys!! Did we miss anything in Izmir?
LIVING LIVING LIVING!!!
Hahaha doing our best!!
I was born and raised in Istanbul and lived about seven years in Izmir before i moved abroad. When i look back, i feel like Izmir is my home town. I really miss so many things about living in there. Thanks for giving me this sweet nostalgia.
That’s really cool! We also loved Izmir it’s a really beautiful city! Thanks for watching 😊🙏
Looked well worth the visit, and the food is very interesting...I would have enjoyed the bomba too
Yes you would have loved BOMBA!!
It's crazy how different some dishes are in turkey from winter to summer!
What was different for you in winter? When we plan to come back one day in the future we want to come in winter!
@@SirKonrad lot's of hearty winter dishes and salep everywhere.
@@AndrewJames-kt1yj looking forward to trying that someday!
The pickled peppers were so good to have with your meal!
What a great presentation of this amazing Turkish city! Two thumbs up!
Thanks so much for watching!! 🙏🏼
@@SirKonrad You're welcome! All the best!
dang it man! I grew up in that town! brought back so many great memories. Thank you for filming this though. Looks great
Happy to bring you back some memories!! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Nice vlog amigos!
Is a beautiful city and of course it’s worth to visit .
Have you been? It actually reminded us so much of Greece!
@@SirKonrad it’s a lots of history between Greece and Turkey. I haven’t been there yet but is on my future plan. My grandfather was born in Izmir ( Smyrna is the actually Greek name of the city ) .
@@DonQuijoteGR oh wow that’s cool! We hope you get the opportunity to visit in the future! The area around Izmir is gorgeous
Love the video . Keep them coming
Thank you! Many more on the way 🙂
Lurens using someone's bike as a mirror lol 😆 awesome 👌 👏
🤣🤣 she’s always daydreaming of being on the bike somewhere in Southeast Asia
I loved your point of view guys, and yes, İzmir tends to be very hot in summer, so locals prefer to go out in the evening.
Makes sense! During the day it was a bit too much for us!
Thanks for watching!
I'm still enjoying your travels , have a great time..
Thank you! We are glad you are still enjoying watching, we have many more videos in Turkey to come 😊
I was there last year stayed about a mile up the road from the waterfront great place
It is a great city!
Looks amazing ! We are visiting this September. Please could you let me know what the temperatures were like ? Thank you
I was there in late August/early so it was super hot at that time! I think a few days were in the low 40’s (Celsius). I think later in September is a good time! Either way you will love it there 🙂
Worth the visiting?
It's only the city that you have to visit in Turkey....
Hahah we agree it definitely is worth visiting!
Welcome in Izmir in my Homecity ;) Dont forget to visit the nice Beachtowns Cesme & Alacati , Urla , Sigacik , Eski Foca and very close where you live is a Natural Reserve Center fir Waterbirds and have one of the biggest populations of Flamingos … a trip with a Flamingo Boat is very cheap 😉
Oh wow we had no idea that place existed!! Unfortunately we’ve left Izmir now but we will remember that for next time!
Stay tuned for our Alacati video this weekend , and thanks so much for watching 🙂
Increíble, Izmir looks very Modern and just wondering how much was AirBnB in that area of 🇹🇷
Happy to hear that you miss Antigua in Guatemala…. Cheers
Izmir was beautiful and more peaceful than Istanbul! It was about $500 for 1 month. We always miss Antigua and Guatemala 🇬🇹 we have already been talking about coming back in the next few years 😊
While 500$/month sounds not too bad, i would like to remind you that Bostanli is the most expensive part of Izmir. If that it above your budget, don't worry. You can get a much cheaper deal than that. Even 200-300$ dollar range can get you a livable place somewhere else in the city.
Great video - I visited Izmir many years ago, things have changed a lot. Did you visit Ephesus?
Thank you!! I can imagine!
We did actually visit Ephesus, but we will share that in a separate video soon 🙂
@@SirKonrad Thanks, I look forward to watching that. We are planning to do a cruise next year that will visit it. I last visited it in 1995 as a backpacker, and I look forward to take my partner there to see it.
Sounds exciting! I hope you have a great time!!
Wahoo a new video
