To start our street food tour in Izmir, we went to the birthplace of the famous Izmir Bomba. This bakery invented it back in the days and it became very famous all over Turkey.

To continue our street food tour in Izmir, we went to eat the famous meatball this city is famous for.
Köfteci Tamer : Çınar, 5003. Sk. No:54/A, 35090 Bornova/İzmir
While walking trying to digest all the food, we found a truck on the street selling traditional Izmir Lokma and we decided to give it a go.
Moving on with our street food tour in Izmir, we went to eat Atom Kokorec, something that I've been looking forward to trying for a very long time.

To end the day, I went to a local barber to get a trim and to a very local tea shop where the owner used to be a professional football player. Experiences like these are the reasons why we travel. People in Turkey are just amazing.
To end our street food tour in Izmir, the day after we went to a local butcher that takes his job to the next level. The shop is owned and managed by the whole family for six generations. They have been very hospitable and warm to my wife and me. They let us film completely freely and invited us inside to have breakfast with them. In the end, they offered us all the food we had and they also gave us some gifts to take home. Such an unforgettable experience we had,

Lokma you've tried at around 08:00, it is given away especially on fridays for deceased people for a small "remembrance".

Yes and No. I was Blatantly Over Charged numerous times at these cafes or family restaurants. Also, in general, Turkish businesses are very unscrupulous if you are a foreigner. Luckily when I visit Turkey, I bring my Turkish neighbor that lives next door to me in New York city. That's why I tell my fellow Americans to be very careful when you enter Turkey. They know how to shmooz people but equally know hot to con/rip off honest tourists of their hard earned dollars. By the way, Taxis also are crooks who steal from tourists.
@@alking6633 What your experience has to do with food chanel? I'm not from turkey there are good and bad people in every country including yours. When you travel next time to turkey someday in your life time, remember to bargain politely i'm sure they wont rip you off next time😊
Turkey looks like my kind of place. Great food great people. I love food and culinary delights from around the world. Food brings us together. I love food. I'm a cook and 51 and I have a new love and respect for food in my 50s now. I will be visit turkey on my trip forsure now.

AMAZING video guys, wow, loved every bit of it. It’s really the hospitality makes everything so nice. People are so humble, warm and generous. The food is delicious because mostly very fresh. I’m originally from Izmir and don’t know these places. Thank you so much for making us realize our beautiful traditions. ❤️ I’ve been to Italy few times and people are also so nice and friendly, and Italian food is great. 😘🧿

I lived in Izmir for half a year when I was studying there and the lokma you mentioned is given away not for charity but when some people relatives die they buy the lokma in the district truck so the people eat the lokma and pray for the person who died.

For example, "çok teşekkürler, hakkını helal et"

really realllllly beautiful, can't quite imagine kofta without salt, the meat must be super juicy and flavorful; great to see the charity truck with sweets, on daily bases; the master's deft skill in scooping out the meat from lamb head is so stunning; i love to try the lentil soup with lemon and the lavash bread with anything.
