    • @spartafishinguk
      @spartafishinguk  3 месяца назад

      @@liammckenzie7730 Hello mate. Thanks for watching.
      I use large 3 way swivels so I can see them easier lol. Just get the biggest ones available in your local tackle shop.
      Depending on what strength mainline you have depends on what to use on the trace.
      You want your weight length to be the weakest part for fishing on heavy ground.
      So here’s what use:
      65 braid mainline
      65lb mono to hook
      40lb to weight.
      This offers me a good balance as the braid is the same as the hook length so can handle any fish really and also mono is much more abrasion resistent.
      The weight is the weakest park which is well strong enough to cast but weak enough to snap out a snag and still retain a fish.
      I have a 3ft hook length and my weight length is only about 8 inches. This is so the weight isn’t trailing as much whilst reeling in a fish avoiding snags. Not as effective as a pulley for avoiding snags but better than a standard trace all the same. 👍
      This isn’t very authodox, however, it works for me and I always use what I am most confident with myself. 🤝

    Surely ya rig body should be heavier than ya hook length?

    • @spartafishinguk
      @spartafishinguk  3 месяца назад +1

      @@Sunderlandcodangler Once it’s over a certain breaking strain it makes no difference at all. The hook length is only that heavy for abrasion purposes whilst landing fish like Bullhuss and Conger with teeth. As long as the rig body is strong enough in itself it makes no odds what the hook length is, They are independent of each other so there’s no need for them to be compared to each other as long as both are fit for purpose. The body is 75lb with is double enough. There’s no advantage in making it heavier line than the hook.
