@@boimesa8190 I know it’s an old comment but in case you never got the answer, class A amps run at full power due to having one transistor and have a higher fidelity, and will be cleaner over all. Class B uses 2 transistors to power the negative and positive charges of the amp, so it doesn’t use as much power, has more distortion, but is more efficient on lower fidelity’s. It won’t run nearly as hot as a class A, also isn’t necessarily better or worse. Class D have a higher power output running through the transistor. They also use DC where I believe A and B amps use AC through their transistor. (I might be wrong on that part though.) But the trade off is that class D amps run extremely efficiently, you’ll have a harder time overheating it, but there is a noticeable loss is sound fidelity. They’re getting better for sure, but the distortion on them has an almost digital feel to me. (Class D amps aren’t digital amps, it’s just the closest comparison.) Hope that helps and I didn’t make it more confusing. I’m not an expert lol.
I have a bass amp. Just got a guitar and pedals but forgot about the fact it was a bass amp. I can’t afford a new amp at this stage so I have to use the bass one. Also it’s from the 90s. If it’s not broke don’t replace it sorts thing.
@@eliseoborrerobass That's exactly what i did plugged my old Zoom 505 pedal in and it sounded brilliant very pleasantly surprised .I also removed the back of the cabinet which also reduced the bass as well as adjusting bass etc .Thank you very very much all the best
Sorry about the late response, I am moving to Puerto Rico!. I think you should use a regular guitar amp without tweeters. The bass amp will give you a fat Jazz tone, which I am not sure if it's what you want; however you can always try it at a music store, and if you like it, go for it. Bass amps are generally heavier and you probably don't need that. Thanks and good luck!
Thanks for the video dude Good Job Lot information are help me I'm a drummer who decided to start to play guitar I have guitar and bass amp I was going to try to see which I can get the best sound of I'm glad you let me know about burning coils thank you
I like using the bass app. It has a cleaner sound all those other apps that have all these other options of tones all that kind feels gimmicky. I’m impressed with the base app and my electric guitar. Clean sound Amazing
Very informative video. World you advice come model that are better than other for amplifying guitars (other than bass of course)? Thanks for the video.
Thank you, I searched for answer and found it.. Sorry I thought my hubby is crazy when he bought bas amp for guitar.. 😅 Now I learn play, still a lot of questions, but they slowly dissappear with practice 😊
Please help me do you have a video of how to set up an equalizer on a combo bass amp? I live in a remote area and no one knows about it, even the pawn shop I bought my bass from don’t and it’s really hard for me to learn anything as the sound it produces is not good😓. Also in the video if I’m to play a guitar in my bass amp is that how I’m to set my equalizer. Thanks
it depends on the speakers, but try cutting some of the low frequencies 100-400 just a little bit at a time. this works for a fat Jazz sound, if you want a bright sound then you might need a guitar amp or a P.A.
@@eliseoborrerobass It’s a very less popular brand I think, it’s a Pervey BA300 combo bass amp with it’s equalizer frequency at -12 to + 12 down to up and 40 to 40K left to right also with a low and high end tuner in the equalizer section , I can’t find any tutorials on how to set it up online either as the brand is ver less popular, making my bass sound very horrible even when in tune
Yes, of course you can. If you're looking to get a lot of gain without losing sustain, especially with chugs, stick with a guitar amp. The bass amps have wonderful cleans and are great for 99% of what you'd want to do on it with a guitar
Eliseo - I need a bass amp to play some hard rock and blues guitar through. I'll be using distortion and booster pedals. Do you recommend a bass amp with tweeters for distorted 6 string guitar or a bass amp without? Also, solid state or tubes? Thanks!
Hi Eliseo! You play extremely well, and your video was informative to watch. I’m about to buy an old Ampeg SVT head from a guy on Facebook. My electric guitars are a brand new 335, and a Gretsch Pro Jet solid body. I’m going with “blind faith” and haven’t tested the amp yet, because if you read Wikipedia, in 1969 The Rolling Stones used SVT prototypes which was Ampeg’s “nastiest bass amp ever seen” on tour. I’m only paying this guy $100 for the head, and bought an Ampeg 4 10 cabinet on line from a pawn shop in Santa Maria. What do you think? By the way, what kind of classical guitar were you using? It sounded like a hollow body thru the Trace Elliot. Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks for the comment. I think those are great, but a bit heavy. Try it before buying it, of course, but I think it will give you a warm tone and they are also bright, if you want. Most guys don't use amps anymore, they just go direct or through a pedal board, but you can use this rig to record also. I just had a cheap Takamine with a pickup and an Ibanez Gio solid body, but with the bass amp sounds almost hollow! For $100 that's a good deal, if it works fine. Congratulations.
ese era un combo que salió en 1988 con 4 de 10, pero lo modifiqué. no creo que lo consigas; sin embargo, hay otros modelos que se pueden usar. para tono de jazz gordo le puedes bajar el vol. al tweeter. gracias!
The answer is no it will blow the speakers or amp. If you crank the amp. Playing it at low volume is ok. But it will blow. God bless. From Glenn CATT. In Massachusetts.
Well…no amp is meant to be cranked. I’ve used bass amps with guitar and even mixers and I’ve never blown anything but always at low gain. If you want distortion, it should never come from the speakers, you should use a pedal and it will be ok!
I like the clean sound that comes out of a Bass amp.
Thanks a lot! Congratulations from Brazil!
Well done! This video is very informative. Thanks a milion! Really love the way you explain things
Another thing I'll add, guitar will sound MUCH better through a class a/b bass amp vs most contemporary class d amps.
What's class a,b and d?

very helpful my guitar amp has packed up but i do have a old Laney k50B which im now going to plug into and have a play around with thank you .
Just don’t distortion! if you like distortion, use a pedal so the amp is just amplifying that sound and not “producing” the distortion. thanks!

Going ham on that classical ooof
Can you Play louder with tour guitar through the basis amp?
Yes. In general bass speakers are cleaner than guitar speakers (but darker), but it also depends on the size of the guitar amp.
Thank you very much, very informative video

Do you think Can I play long period of time? Playing guitar or acoustic guitar in the bass amp?
For gig or in a high volume?
For acoustic guitar it's better to have a bass amp with tweeter, not the paper cones alone.
Or use it for modeling amp for your GR5 or Amplitude! Maybe cheaper than keyboard amp...
So no distortion pedals then?? ONLY clean?
I used distortion on my line 6 mkii on bass no problem....
what if iuse guitar speakers or modern modeling speakers with a pedal
Can u make a video with a guitar VST and bass amp?
Great idea!
Yes. You can.

Are you using the pedals in an effect loop? Maybe try going trough the pedals and into the amp. Thanks.
