    Actually if you read the laws from fish and game..... live bait is legal in Maricopa County and a couple others. In some counties it is illegal... also single barbless hooks are also required in a lot of fishing ponds... you just need to do your homework before... fishing in the canals are actually federal and after talking to a game warden, they technically can't do anything due to the ownership of the canal. He did say that whatever you catch in the canal, do not keep the carp. He said if YOU are caught keeping a carp from the canal you will face severe fines. It is owned and controlled by SRP and they are governed by federal jurisdiction... kind of weird... also the turtles that plague the ponds are actually invasive and not wanted. Tilapia are also invasive and have no limits. 100% cannot transport live fish even if you are taking it home to eat. ❤ your vids!!! If you want to fish over in Gilbert, let me know I have a few places... I have a great place for huge tilapia...

    I live out in Queen Creek and I have a question regarding cast nets. Gilbert Regional park falls within Maricopa county. I cant find any specific rules of fishing that park other than the signage posted out side referring to AZFGD website rules. Per AZGFD its legal to cast net for bait fish at the park. I did email gilbert parks and asked if cast nets are allowed and they replied that they are not allowed. Are they in the wrong or am I missing something. I spent a lot of time trying to find specific rules for this pond and theres nothing out there. Most of the urban ponds dont have specific rules and default to AZGFD rules.

    • @TheFishinMagician20
      @TheFishinMagician20  Год назад +1

      They are in the wrong unless it is posted as a park rule. As you said the urban ponds fall under AZDFG rules, and if they want their own set of rules they need to have them available to the public(preferably on azdfg website). Otherwise, they can’t just say those are the rules and not show them to the public lol. I would ask them where that regulation is in the park rules, like on their website or park rules and see what they say haha. You are good!
