Good channel. I just bought the MS906BT from Balkamp through my NAPA dealer. Wish I had known about your channel first. I work out of my residence base repair shop, the hardest thing for me is to keep up with the drivability issues that the multitude of scan tools help with. This tool was, for me, the best purchase.
Aurel seems to be the most bang for the buck hands down. Autel dosent even come close to explaining and answering questions about their products the way this guy does.
Great video, I own a small used car lot for about two years now. Before that, I was in the home improvement business, When I did that I always like to have the best tools available which I still have some of them because I knew having the best and the right tools can make your life and job easier and faster. So, now that I work with cars I decided to get my hands on the mk808bt and let me tell you this devices are amazing, actually, I didn’t even know that a scan tool can have so much control over a car, these things are like the ultrasound equipment are for doctors! I am a mechanic enthusiast aiming at learning anything that has to do with programming and coding, so far I have been able to save a lot of money in the car I buy at the auctions, unfortunately they don’t allow you to bring any scanning device into their auction to check their junk before you buy, I wonder why. Lol I am getting the ms906bt next.
If you are still answering questions... DIYer here. I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that decided last week that it had been stolen and now won't start (no crank). I replaced the steering column transceiver and the PCM still doesn't recognize the keys. I had a highly recommended local locksmith send a mobile service guy out. He confirmed that the new transceiver is working and the old one is bad, but he couldn't get the PCM to recognize the keys (I'm not sure he knew the procedure to make the PCM recognize/reprogram the keys, from what I see online Ford PATS requires 10 minutes before the reprogramming can even start). What is the least expensive Autel scanner that I could purchase that would scan the PCM for codes, reset them, and then reprogram the existing keys?
Thanks for this educational video. To write a VIN number on ECU that was just cloned for 2001 Mercedes Benz c240, do I have to buy Maxisys MS906BT or a lower model can perform that task. BTW, the car starts/runs & Drive except BAS?ESP codes could not be read as Vehicle VIN is different from the cloned ECU. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hello usually what I do when my client has a special function request is I get the VIN number and check with my engineer. This way they give my client 100 percent certainty that the function they are looking for is on the tool. Maybe you can ask your supplier if they offer that service.

Being Android based have you heard any Autel scanners not being supported due to running older android operating systems. Google pulls support and you have a paper weight?I just worry majority of Autel is 4.4.2

I purchased The 906BT. So far I love it. Although I was working on a 2008 Saturn Aura, I tried to relearn the TPMS sensors. I was able to find the sensors on my scanner, but was unable to relearn each one starting at driver front, going clockwise. Do you have a video or link on how to due this using the 906BT?
I have an MP808 and went to program remotes in a 2008 Tundra and it gave me steps opening and closing doors to enter programming mode and it never worked. Why not? (hopefully you can point me in the right direction)

Everything in your presentation is informative and straight forward so I only have two questions: 1. Does the tool MS906BT or TS come with the fix assist or is that a separate purchase? Fix assist, all data or similar information archives? 2. Will the tool need to be updated to the most current available update to work, or can I skip one or two updates and continue to use it? It depends on the vehicle and the process of the key procedure. So its hard to give you a direct answer . If the fobs dont work then look for a remote special function to relearn them back to the vehicle
Is worth just getting the cheaper MP808 instead of paying the extra money for the slightly larger screen, processor and camera if they have same functions still?

bought the 906BT over a year ago. won't auto ID VIN on 2 different toyotas. Battery/tablet power supply problems. This was an ongoing problem. Most people thought it was bad batteries but it is actually the regulator in the tablet. It failed to turn on more than it turned on. Major hassles to use and when I contacted AUTEL about how much is would cost to send it in for repairs I never heard back. Won't buy another AUTEL POS

Does Your, in this case what I have seen, (908BT) no tools for analyzing Volvos, why? Or, am I wrong? Hello, usually what I do for my clients is get the VIN number ( if available) or the year and make of the models they work on. Then ill ask my engineer if those years are via OBD 2 or use a special adapter. Also if you work on older vehicles you need to make sure that the autel software coverage is strong on those vehicles. I would highly recommend you asking your supplier to spend the time with you to answer these questions. Alternatively if your not able to get any definite answers, then you can book a diagnostic tool consultation at my website auteltech.co.za . Ya Autel is a great product but the renewal is $500 which is crazy for silly updates. You will also get a 1 year warranty when you update on the product which is great but $500 is lots of money just for updates that probably don't pertain to your car that you have. Those of us that do all repairs in our residential garage, the only product you will need is a code reader and live data display. You don't need bi-directional in most cases, the specialty functions of most scanner cover 95% of what you will ever need. The Topdon ArtiDiag800 BT is a great product. The updates are free for life. I update mine once a week and there is always updates. Never get a nagging screen telling you that there are 100 plus updates but your renewal has expired so you can't update. Xtool makes a cheaper product but they are fantastic. The updates are way cheaper and they also have bi-directional capability if you really need it. just my 2 cents.
Need input, should I purchase the snapon solus ultra for 500 and have it updated? Or just purchase a new ms906bt? I do diagnostics across the board, looking for good opinions on what to purchase.
Hey Rodrick...I wouldnt do either option. Let me explain. Most of my client have the solus ultra and other snap on products. Its great for trouble shooting and graphing but its doesnt have as much special functions required to solve problems. So if you purchase this used tool and have it updated..your going to eventually be in the same situation and your going to eventually need to buy the MS906BT to resolve.. Now regarding the MS906BT.. If you decide to purchase this tool from another vendor.. Your price might be cheaper but your cost are going to be astronomicly higher.. So if you are ok with this.. and want to worry about this later then you can purchase the ms906BT anywhere.. But if you want me to help you reduce your cost and give you results with the tool then I would recommend the BT from me. Hope this helps
@@shortdogg80 Well im going to give my "secret sauce" but what I will tell you is A. its a pretty complex tool and dont know how to varify and find the special function you could be waisting alot of time ( which is money) b. The suppliers dont have a system to fix software glitches so this could also waist time ( which = Money) and Lastly you are going to be consintly paying for updates subscriptions at 700 Per update. My client dont worry about that for at least on average 5 years. So if you do the math you can see how your costs are going to be higher. Does that make sense

Can we program a new TCM to a vehicle? We have a 2016 Outlander for a customer and we could the tranny to work. We bought a new TCM and it probably to be programmed to the vehicle.
You need a tool that has a j2534 . Then you need to download SDD to a laptop to program the module. You make a good case for buying from you. Someone who uses the tool daily and depends on it for their livelihood would be smart to listen to you. For a back yard mechanic like me, I don't think it would pay off. I've had an MX808 for about 3 years and while it has served me well I am sure I have not used it to it's full capability.

Ive took a back yard mechanic who purchased the BT and in 8 months made enough money to get his initial investment back and purchase the IM608. The more skills you learn the more you earn.

Thats strange. I have a MS906BT and I see the special function option their? The VIn Writing option is only for selected vehicles. Maybe your tools is not up to date or you have a different model that doesnt have special funcitions

15:16 I’m assuming it will work the same with a 2007 mercury milan. Every time I go to perform parameter reset it says pats system detected a fault code.
I have a 2007 525i BMW. The original ecu was malfunctioning/damaged and made the car go into limp mode. I plan on going to get a used ecu from another BMW. Will I be/need to reprogram after? And do I need anything else aside from the ecu in order for the car start up fine?

They both are Identical in terms of diagnostics. Just the TS has TPMS functions. The BT doesnt. So it really depends on your budget and if TPMS is really a big problem to solve.

At 22:40 CHRYSLER To "Force Write" a VIN number to the new replaced module. With Chrysler For the VIN write procedure to work, does it need to be a new or reman module with no existing VIN in it yet or can it work with a suitable salvage yard replacement ECM and be able to overwrite the donor vehicle VIN with the correct VIN#?

What if your vehicle doesn't use a key? i.e. FOB\Smart Remote start - would this function be the same as if you Press the Start Button on the Dash Once and then again for twice (with your foot off the break). 2. Can other functions be added to the FOB\Smart Remote? E.g. Roll UP & DOWN for windows and Side Mirror retract? Hi Darrel, You would need another specialized key coding device .Like the im508 or km100 since these are basicly lock smith level tools. the Ms906 bt doesnt specialize in this and your not able to add it unfortunately

HI Jeffery, You need the im508 as your elite doesnt have any European key coding coverage. I would also ask your supplier if your vehicle is supported. This way there will be no disappointments when you get your tool and attempt to do the procedure and it doesnt work since its not covered

My old Ds708 (minimal coding ability) can do older Ford PATS keys and rewrite the VIN #s to "used" Chrysler ECMs just fine but for the later cars now, I have been waiting for MaxiSys to be able to retrieve PIN codes and In Code and Out codes to make changes or program Smart proximity keys and remotes and possibly be able to avoid buying a OE Subscription and having to enter a locksmith code in order to program these keys. If you pay the extra $500 -$600 to buy this tool from you, are you or one of your techs always be at our Beckon Call , and can supply these elusive codes and a working valid lock smith IDs when we need to program newer car immobilizer keys? Also would like to see a videos showing all the extra coding capability you have at your disposal on a MS906 BT versus the getting the basic corded MS906 or DS808 which coding ability is listed minimal.
HI my friend, In the new Maxisys series ( Excluding the regular MS906) All of the special functions are advance ( including key coding). But for the functions that you are hoping the ms906bt will have ( Extracting Pin Codes and programming smart proximity keys etc) .. I feel if you understand the technology that's being used by the manufacturers thats prevent access to the security information..You will discover thats its virtually impossible to obtain this information through a diagnostic tool ( or even a key coding machine) . I cant train you in this one email on the different type of Chips/Eproms that are being used in newer vehicles ... But what I do know is that for new generation of ECU's ( EDC 16- ED17 and MED) The ECU's are coming with chip called a "Tricore". Before manufactures know that people could read the security information so now thy embedded a Password on the chip. So just to read this information you must decode the password, then you will be able to get information like : Mechanical Key Cut Information, PIN CODE information etc.. Most Locksmiths are calling me in efforts to find the perfect tool to do this as even with their best key coding machines, they are not able to get access to this information. The good news is that you are able to get all this information but not by diagnostic tool or key programming machine. You are going to need special hardware and software to obtain this information. The more problems you solve the more people you help the more money you make!
Can this device 906BT. Be used to fix keys that no longer lock and unlock doors but still start car ? On my 3 rd key and again off doesn’t unlock car. The first 2 did the same thing ?

hello curtis i own a autel maxisys 906bt and i had an issue with the touch screen and so i was trying to correct the issue but load and behold i tried to reset the tooll and instead of fixing the problem the tool reset alright but instead of fixing the problem it reset itself to factory and deleted everything meaning the software and i cant gain access to anything i called autel service and they didnt want to help i only need for them to help me install the software i had im not asking much or for anything new but they refused to help and now im very disgusted and upset with this company and tool so im hoping that you can help me with this issue thank you

i know my way around it ive had some experience with diagnosis before but i want to learn more as of the features of this device and of course learn more thats why im watching these review videos & tutorials on how to get the most out of it
I see. Well the reason I asked was mainly because from my experience most people who invest in these tools actually dont know what its like to own one. They dont know what problems that they will encounter during the duration of ownership. For example.. There are 3 layers of potential problems you will face. The first level is technical. On your vehicle alone there are 69 special functions at your disposal such as Resetting Adaptive Values , Vin Writing Cylinder Power Balance Steering Angle Sensor(SAS) Calibration etc. .I dont know your level of expertise but how do you know the path / produre to get to those special functions? Lets say you did find them but the coding procedure did not work? How would you address this issue? The second problem you will face is on the software level. What happens when your tablet starts running slow? Do you know how to safely reformat your tool with out deleting all the apps? If your like most people they will google this problem and try to obtain forum information on how to resolve this issues.But that person who wrote the article didnt say that you needed a valid subscription due to the fact that once you reformat your tablet all your car apps are gone. ( this happens all the time) . Or lets say your doing your key coding procedure and it doesnt work. How will you be able exam the Autel software to determine if its a software glitch or a problem with the module? Lastly is hardware problems. What happens when your screen is not responsive any more and it needs replacement. Does Matco handle the repair or do the tell you to call a general support line and have you handle it yourself. What happens when you update your VCI and it doesnt work anymore because the firmware "bricked" the VCI. Does Matco have systems in place to resolve any of those issues? If they do then definetly purchase from them . If they dont then how is this going to add value to you? Im only sharing this with you because I represent clients who fit your profile and I already know what experience you are going to have when you purchase from " Distribution Platforms". They are great if you want "peace of mind" because of their brand name or if you are getting financing on weekly terms.. this is understandable. But for example.. you can get this tool at Walmart ( Its funny but true) .. Know I want you ask the walmart guy the same questions you asked me regarding the key coding. We both know he is not going to have a clue! We both that!! And believe it or not most of people selling this tool are just as knowledgable as the Walmart guy. ( Not all of them but most of them) . Do you know if the MS906BT can program new modules for GM cars for things like new HVAC controller or new headlight switch? I have this scanner and used it to program a new headlight switch for a jaguar, but I can't get any programming icon to come up anywhere for my GM car.
@@AutelConsultancy Coding is maybe what I need. I installed a new AC/ Heat controller in my 2009 GM SUV. It is working but it's also doing some weird things that it should not. There is no CEL , or other flag that comes up when I do a full diag scan of all the modules. People call it different things. When I put a new headlight switch in a Jag F-Type, 4 choices came up after putting in vin and going to diag. One of those 4 choices was labelled "Programming." So I went though all the prompts and completed the install. So would you call that programming or coding? But nothing comes up on the GM SUV that gives me any option for coding a new part or programming that I can find. Am I just SOL? That's the problem with these scanners...you never really know for sure which cars they will do or which functions until you buy it!

HI Aruras, Ive seen this problem before with one of my clients and I dont think a hard reset will be the solution. In fact if you did a hard reset and your out of a subscription , it will delete all your apps and the only way to get them back is to pay for the subscription which is 1200 USD. What I would do is contact your supplier and have them log in to check what the problem is. If its a hardware issue then they will tell you send it in for repair if your tool is under warranty. I do offer a service to my client that will allow them to get any tool repaired even after their warranty has ended.. Hy Mr Lopez, Generall speaking yes it can but its not able to do those features for every year make and model. You need to check with your tech support with the vin number to verify if those functions are there on the tool
HI Ali tool can read the transmission control module and give you the error code as well as a description of what th problem is. In addition to that there is Live data to give you further anylitics on that module. Also you can do adaptations after a transmission repair or replace. The software is included with the tool. Do you specilize in transmissions? Whats your situation.

If you already have 2 original programmed PATS keys in hand where one is not a clone of the other's chip and you want to add a 3rd key , then you do not need a scanner and a 10 minute security access to program (add) that 3rd key. Just take the 2 program keys and insert in ignition and turn on 3 seconds each and turn off ,remove, then quickly followed by the unprogrammed key you want to add for 3 seconds , turn off key and remove. Then wait 10 seconds insert the key and see if the and see if it starts the car

When I insert another used ECU, first I disconect immobiliser module. Turn a ignition on and with ms906bt changed a VIN number, it did it. But cars starts and stalls, so I was have to resolder immobiliser eeprom from old ECU to used on.

So, now that I work with cars I decided to get my hands on the mk808bt and let me tell you this devices are amazing, actually, I didn’t even know that a scan tool can have so much control over a car, these things are like the ultrasound equipment are for doctors! I am a mechanic enthusiast aiming at learning anything that has to do with programming and coding, so far I have been able to save a lot of money in the car I buy at the auctions, unfortunately they don’t allow you to bring any scanning device into their auction to check their junk before you buy, I wonder why. DIYer here. I have a 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac that decided last week that it had been stolen and now won't start (no crank). I replaced the steering column transceiver and the PCM still doesn't recognize the keys. I had a highly recommended local locksmith send a mobile service guy out. He confirmed that the new transceiver is working and the old one is bad, but he couldn't get the PCM to recognize the keys (I'm not sure he knew the procedure to make the PCM recognize/reprogram the keys, from what I see online Ford PATS requires 10 minutes before the reprogramming can even start). What is the least expensive Autel scanner that I could purchase that would scan the PCM for codes, reset them, and then reprogram the existing keys?

BTW, the car starts/runs & Drive except BAS?ESP codes could not be read as Vehicle VIN is different from the cloned ECU. Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hello usually what I do when my client has a special function request is I get the VIN number and check with my engineer. This way they give my client 100 percent certainty that the function they are looking for is on the tool. Maybe you can ask your supplier if they offer that service.

I purchased The 906BT. So far I love it. Although I was working on a 2008 Saturn Aura, I tried to relearn the TPMS sensors. I was able to find the sensors on my scanner, but was unable to relearn each one starting at driver front, going clockwise. Do you have a video or link on how to due this using the 906BT?

It depends on the vehicle and the process of the key procedure. So its hard to give you a direct answer . If the fobs dont work then look for a remote special function to relearn them back to the vehicle

bought the 906BT over a year ago. won't auto ID VIN on 2 different toyotas. Battery/tablet power supply problems. This was an ongoing problem. Most people thought it was bad batteries but it is actually the regulator in the tablet. It failed to turn on more than it turned on. Major hassles to use and when I contacted AUTEL about how much is would cost to send it in for repairs I never heard back. Won't buy another AUTEL POS

Hello, usually what I do for my clients is get the VIN number ( if available) or the year and make of the models they work on. Then ill ask my engineer if those years are via OBD 2 or use a special adapter. Also if you work on older vehicles you need to make sure that the autel software coverage is strong on those vehicles. I would highly recommend you asking your supplier to spend the time with you to answer these questions. Alternatively if your not able to get any definite answers, then you can book a diagnostic tool consultation at my website auteltech.co.za . Ya Autel is a great product but the renewal is $500 which is crazy for silly updates. You will also get a 1 year warranty when you update on the product which is great but $500 is lots of money just for updates that probably don't pertain to your car that you have. Those of us that do all repairs in our residential garage, the only product you will need is a code reader and live data display. You don't need bi-directional in most cases, the specialty functions of most scanner cover 95% of what you will ever need. The Topdon ArtiDiag800 BT is a great product. The updates are free for life. I update mine once a week and there is always updates. Never get a nagging screen telling you that there are 100 plus updates but your renewal has expired so you can't update. Xtool makes a cheaper product but they are fantastic. The updates are way cheaper and they also have bi-directional capability if you really need it. just my 2 cents.

Hey Rodrick...I wouldnt do either option. Let me explain. Most of my client have the solus ultra and other snap on products. Its great for trouble shooting and graphing but its doesnt have as much special functions required to solve problems. So if you purchase this used tool and have it updated..your going to eventually be in the same situation and your going to eventually need to buy the MS906BT to resolve.. Now regarding the MS906BT.. If you decide to purchase this tool from another vendor.. Your price might be cheaper but your cost are going to be astronomicly higher.. So if you are ok with this.. and want to worry about this later then you can purchase the ms906BT anywhere.. But if you want me to help you reduce your cost and give you results with the tool then I would recommend the BT from me. Hope this helps

The suppliers dont have a system to fix software glitches so this could also waist time ( which = Money) and Lastly you are going to be consintly paying for updates subscriptions at 700 Per update. My client dont worry about that for at least on average 5 years. So if you do the math you can see how your costs are going to be higher. Does that make sense

Can we program a new TCM to a vehicle? We have a 2016 Outlander for a customer and we could the tranny to work. We bought a new TCM and it probably to be programmed to the vehicle.

You make a good case for buying from you. Someone who uses the tool daily and depends on it for their livelihood would be smart to listen to you. For a back yard mechanic like me, I don't think it would pay off. I've had an MX808 for about 3 years and while it has served me well I am sure I have not used it to it's full capability.

Thats strange. I have a MS906BT and I see the special function option their? The VIn Writing option is only for selected vehicles. Maybe your tools is not up to date or you have a different model that doesnt have special funcitions

They both are Identical in terms of diagnostics. Just the TS has TPMS functions. The BT doesnt. So it really depends on your budget and if TPMS is really a big problem to solve.

Hi Darrel, You would need another specialized key coding device .Like the im508 or km100 since these are basicly lock smith level tools. the Ms906 bt doesnt specialize in this and your not able to add it unfortunately

HI Jeffery, You need the im508 as your elite doesnt have any European key coding coverage. I would also ask your supplier if your vehicle is supported. This way there will be no disappointments when you get your tool and attempt to do the procedure and it doesnt work since its not covered

Hey Jesse, I do sell and consult the tool. Bugs are a constant battle. In your case you need to ask your supplier to do a data logging and report the bugs. I have a system for my clients that does this so I can verify if Autel fixed your paricular issue

My old Ds708 (minimal coding ability) can do older Ford PATS keys and rewrite the VIN #s to "used" Chrysler ECMs just fine but for the later cars now, I have been waiting for MaxiSys to be able to retrieve PIN codes and In Code and Out codes to make changes or program Smart proximity keys and remotes and possibly be able to avoid buying a OE Subscription and having to enter a locksmith code in order to program these keys. If you pay the extra $500 -$600 to buy this tool from you, are you or one of your techs always be at our Beckon Call , and can supply these elusive codes and a working valid lock smith IDs when we need to program newer car immobilizer keys?
Also would like to see a videos showing all the extra coding capability you have at your disposal on a MS906 BT versus the getting the basic corded MS906 or DS808 which coding ability is listed minimal.
HI my friend, In the new Maxisys series ( Excluding the regular MS906) All of the special functions are advance ( including key coding). But for the functions that you are hoping the ms906bt will have ( Extracting Pin Codes and programming smart proximity keys etc) .. I feel if you understand the technology that's being used by the manufacturers thats prevent access to the security information..You will discover thats its virtually impossible to obtain this information through a diagnostic tool ( or even a key coding machine) . I cant train you in this one email on the different type of Chips/Eproms that are being used in newer vehicles ... But what I do know is that for new generation of ECU's ( EDC 16- ED17 and MED) The ECU's are coming with chip called a "Tricore". Before manufactures know that people could read the security information so now thy embedded a Password on the chip. So just to read this information you must decode the password, then you will be able to get information like : Mechanical Key Cut Information, PIN CODE information etc..
Most Locksmiths are calling me in efforts to find the perfect tool to do this as even with their best key coding machines, they are not able to get access to this information. The good news is that you are able to get all this information but not by diagnostic tool or key programming machine. You are going to need special hardware and software to obtain this information.

Can this device 906BT. Be used to fix keys that no longer lock and unlock doors but still start car ? On my 3 rd key and again off doesn’t unlock car. The first 2 did the same thing ?
HI Ray, There are better tools out there that might be able to solve this problem. The 906bt overall key coding capabilities is limited . I would give it a 2.5 out of 5. hello curtis i own a autel maxisys 906bt and i had an issue with the touch screen and so i was trying to correct the issue but load and behold i tried to reset the tooll and instead of fixing the problem the tool reset alright but instead of fixing the problem it reset itself to factory and deleted everything meaning the software and i cant gain access to anything i called autel service and they didnt want to help i only need for them to help me install the software i had im not asking much or for anything new but they refused to help and now im very disgusted and upset with this company and tool so im hoping that you can help me with this issue thank you

I see. Well the reason I asked was mainly because from my experience most people who invest in these tools actually dont know what its like to own one. They dont know what problems that they will encounter during the duration of ownership. For example.. There are 3 layers of potential problems you will face. The first level is technical. On your vehicle alone there are 69 special functions at your disposal such as Resetting Adaptive Values , Vin Writing Cylinder Power Balance Steering Angle Sensor(SAS) Calibration etc. .I dont know your level of expertise but how do you know the path / produre to get to those special functions? Lets say you did find them but the coding procedure did not work? How would you address this issue? The second problem you will face is on the software level. What happens when your tablet starts running slow? Do you know how to safely reformat your tool with out deleting all the apps? If your like most people they will google this problem and try to obtain forum information on how to resolve this issues.But that person who wrote the article didnt say that you needed a valid subscription due to the fact that once you reformat your tablet all your car apps are gone. ( this happens all the time) . Or lets say your doing your key coding procedure and it doesnt work. How will you be able exam the Autel software to determine if its a software glitch or a problem with the module? Lastly is hardware problems. What happens when your screen is not responsive any more and it needs replacement. Does Matco handle the repair or do the tell you to call a general support line and have you handle it yourself. What happens when you update your VCI and it doesnt work anymore because the firmware "bricked" the VCI. Does Matco have systems in place to resolve any of those issues? If they do then definetly purchase from them . If they dont then how is this going to add value to you? Im only sharing this with you because I represent clients who fit your profile and I already know what experience you are going to have when you purchase from " Distribution Platforms". They are great if you want "peace of mind" because of their brand name or if you are getting financing on weekly terms.. this is understandable. But for example.. you can get this tool at Walmart ( Its funny but true) .. Know I want you ask the walmart guy the same questions you asked me regarding the key coding. We both know he is not going to have a clue! We both that!! And believe it or not most of people selling this tool are just as knowledgable as the Walmart guy. ( Not all of them but most of them) . My goal in this conversation is to take my 10 years of assisting clients with these problems and share it with you so you can have clarity to make an educatated decision. So if you just want to get the tool and handle these problems yourself... Then purchase it at Matco. But if you want someone to help you after the sale.. Do you know if the MS906BT can program new modules for GM cars for things like new HVAC controller or new headlight switch? I have this scanner and used it to program a new headlight switch for a jaguar, but I can't get any programming icon to come up anywhere for my GM car.
Do you mean Flash Programming? Or Coding. There is a difference. The BT cant do any flash programming. It can do coding.
@@AutelConsultancy Coding is maybe what I need. I installed a new AC/ Heat controller in my 2009 GM SUV. It is working but it's also doing some weird things that it should not. There is no CEL , or other flag that comes up when I do a full diag scan of all the modules. People call it different things. When I put a new headlight switch in a Jag F-Type, 4 choices came up after putting in vin and going to diag. One of those 4 choices was labelled "Programming." So I went though all the prompts and completed the install. So would you call that programming or coding? But nothing comes up on the GM SUV that gives me any option for coding a new part or programming that I can find. Am I just SOL? That's the problem with these scanners...you never really know for sure which cars they will do or which functions until you buy it!

HI Aruras, Ive seen this problem before with one of my clients and I dont think a hard reset will be the solution. In fact if you did a hard reset and your out of a subscription , it will delete all your apps and the only way to get them back is to pay for the subscription which is 1200 USD. What I would do is contact your supplier and have them log in to check what the problem is. If its a hardware issue then they will tell you send it in for repair if your tool is under warranty. I do offer a service to my client that will allow them to get any tool repaired even after their warranty has ended.. Hy Mr Lopez, Generall speaking yes it can but its not able to do those features for every year make and model. You need to check with your tech support with the vin number to verify if those functions are there on the tool

They are they same in terms of software. Just that the 908 can add the j2534 so you can do bmw and benz programming
Hi Curtis , Is this Scanner capable of trouble shoot Transmission? Or Is Transmission Soft ware also installed?
HI Ali tool can read the transmission control module and give you the error code as well as a description of what th problem is. In addition to that there is Live data to give you further anylitics on that module. Also you can do adaptations after a transmission repair or replace. The software is included with the tool. Do you specilize in transmissions? Whats your situation.

Ford PATS Key Programming
Just A Tip: Just go to Add A Key. That way if your customer only has One Key you can add theirs and you're done.
If you already have 2 original programmed PATS keys in hand where one is not a clone of the other's chip and you want to add a 3rd key , then you do not need a scanner and a 10 minute security access to program (add) that 3rd key. Just take the 2 program keys and insert in ignition and turn on 3 seconds each and turn off ,remove, then quickly followed by the unprogrammed key you want to add for 3 seconds , turn off key and remove. Then wait 10 seconds insert the key and see if the and see if it starts the car

Yes I figure out, it could not di it.
When I insert another used ECU, first I disconect immobiliser module. Turn a ignition on and with ms906bt changed a VIN number, it did it. But cars starts and stalls, so I was have to resolder immobiliser eeprom from old ECU to used on.
