Does this mean, it's the person, not the bike? I got a carrera crossfire 3, had a 5kg backpack load and it took me 1 hour and 40 minutes, NOT flat terrain mind you. Yet you did 19 miles in this video in 1 hour on a boris bike, albeit totally flat terrain @@Cameron_Jeffers
Great work! I once found a seven-speed Bixi bike in Montreal after a night out. Not sure what gearing it was running but it definitely had more room on the top end than the standard three-speed models.
Tough going in the 3rd Gear on a Pashley 5000 Boris Bike!!! Wish they had a 4th gear because that cadence is hard work going flat out, even for 30 mins. Well done!

I watch both channel's. Ashley for education and Jeffers for entertainment. It would be interesting to see both do my commute by bike/ ebike to see how practical and safe it could be.
would in not make sense to use a lap with more elevation game? i mean the bike ist heavy, but you could roll the sloping part down and pedal at the incline at a better cadence...
This bikes design and share model are from Montreal, and we have a brand new F1 circuit tarmac bike lane reopening literally !!! Just saying… if you wanna put a bigger ring on those, it would be a proper place to go at it
I put all records like this on a big list of hour performances. I’d like more info about the previous record holder if you can share. What was his full name, age etc?
1mg and 1ml of water are the same thing - with only an insignificant difference. At a certain air pressure and temperature, they are the same thing. Unfortunately, you need a Guinness World Records supervisor there to see it and you need an accurately measured course, not GPS, for distance covered (hence the record being done on a velodrome). GPS has an accuracy with a ±7m margin of error which is compounded by trees, buildings, movement, etc. That is why your track, when displayed can go off road, even under optimal conditions.
Brilliant video, could you swap the Boris Bike Pedals for Garmin Rally ones and dismount the basket? 🤣 I suppose a bigger Chainring would be even better, that cadence must have been the real killer! 🙄
lol, did you at least get to draft off some cars at some point, to make up for having to dodge them? was a fun video to watch while I ate breakfast, cheers mate!
1. Nice work. 2. I noticed you mentioned the bike's weight. But you're on a completely flat track, so hundreds and hundreds of content creators and internet physicists have told me it's completely irrelevant.... 😮
Good race and result. Especially with roller brake boat anchors, the WORST stupid thing ever put on a bike. WTF is with the stupidly low gearing?? May as well be on a SS. My SA X-RD3 has 47/ 63/ 84 GI. So 28 mph or so wizzout. 1973 CCM at 42 lbs plus load. I'm old and slow, but have done 104 miles on this in 7.5 hours moving. My SA XL-RD5w did 133.6 miles in 12.4 hours clock, doubled my age. Bike was 73 lbs. Beat that. LOL.
Bike sharing bikes have very different design choices compared to any consumer bike. Roller brakes are low maintenance, as is the use of an internal hub gear - these sorts of bikes are designed like single speed bikes, but just with something like a Shimano Nexus hub giving 3 gears. The chain basically never wears, with a chain guard, it is protected from the elements and everything else probably only needs maintenance a few times a year.
this is absolutely brilliant...
Next up - penny farthing
Hahaha thanks max. Let’s do it
Penny Farthing hour record is surprisingly difficult to break! ruclips.net/video/QpAkhMmD3WA/видео.htmlsi=5WGDC8v35iz2B4yW
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen, and I loved it. Keep up the great work Cameron!
Hahahahha, thanks mate
@Cameron_Jeffers he's clearly not been watching long enough 😅 Boris bike alp d'huez springs to mind. Great job btw.

You have to give it to Boris, how he managed to incorporate TT bars into the design is genius.
haha
Almost get hit by a car, but never get out of the aero position? That's a true cyclist!
😂😂😂😂 the game is the game

Was a killer! Cheers Jim
I found your channel some weeks ago, and there is that cool, unusual content! Makes me smile every time 😅
Love that mate! Welcome aboard :)
U smashed it Cam, well done and great vid👍
Herne Hill Velo is open for road bikes every Thursday between 1230 & 1330 for a tener ;)
Great stuff Cam - glad there is room for the daft as well as ‘epic’ 👍🏻
Thanks Andy. Loving the mix of stuff myself
I dunno if it helps since you’re gearing limited, but you can hold the front rack at the bottom under the handlebars to get more aero
Should have used the older style bike which are still available at docks. Larger wheels and better gearing. Aka less spinning.
Ahhh damn it!!
Riding puppy paw and with earphones in - you naughty boy! That was a hoot! Your legs were going like the clappers!!
Lol! well done Cameron incredible cadence for such a long period.... 🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲
Haha. Was definitely feeling it!
road biking is all about the numbers.
mountain bikbing is all about the fun, but fun video!

Appreciated, Travis!
More racing on public roads. Might have to cover this one also 😳
Still patiently waiting for the first video :(
I’m glad you’ve pinned this 👍
The first one is made and scheduled
Let’s gooooo!
I watch both channel's. Ashley for education and Jeffers for entertainment. It would be interesting to see both do my commute by bike/ ebike to see how practical and safe it could be.
Cam, you are absolutely bonkers - in a good way! 🤣 I love it! Awesome ride 👍💪
HAhahaha thanks jason

Thats my training patch - loved it .Well done Mate
Hahah thanks mate!!
Man says vitamins like Conor McGregor. 1:02
When the bike is at the shop but u really gotta stick to your training schedule:
hahaha
Respect, i couldnt do that on my 7kg race bike!
There's two versions of the TFL bike, the older ones have larger wheels but the same gears?
This bikes design and share model are from Montreal, and we have a brand new F1 circuit tarmac bike lane reopening literally !!!
Just saying… if you wanna put a bigger ring on those, it would be a proper place to go at it
That’s the kind of adventure I want to see!
Haha thanks mate!

Bloomin great effort, that's just over 20 miles....... I can't do that downhill on mi racer
Aye, it definitely wasn't easy!
You really look like you were enjoying your AG1....😎
That look and the shudder.. .hahahaha
The reason why I completed the challenge, I reckon..!

Great video! Boris bikes ar impossible to move fast on, no clue had you did it lol
Me neither hahaha. Broken by the end
Trains through the winter on a Boris bike. Wins TDF lol
hahaha

haha, yeah there should be a modified category as well!
Would you have gone further on a velodrome?
Hmm, I'd say so yeah!
@@Cameron_Jeffers and that’s without any specific training either.imagine what ganna could do lol
lol, did you at least get to draft off some cars at some point, to make up for having to dodge them? was a fun video to watch while I ate breakfast, cheers mate!
sadly not! There isnt really any cars on the inner circle.
Can I ask what is that little chest-mounted camera you had on? I like the size of that for cycling purposes.
Hmm chest mounted? I had a gopro on the handlebars, pointing up at me, if that's what you mean? I also had a 360 camera mounted to the rear seat post.
@@Cameron_Jeffers ah, maybe it was the microphone. I thought it was one of those tiny magnetic action cam things. My mistake
Durianrider says Spin For The Win !!! But maybe not that much
Hahaha!
Whens Boris going to sponsor you and give you your own whip 😂
Hahaha. Boris x Ribble Collab
@@Cameron_JeffersRibble needs to made you a sleeper Boris bike that is fully carbon. Imagine showing up to a group ride and dropping everyone on it.
Now I gotta see the kissena hour record for citibikes
Bet that bottom bracket was hot as fook after that 😂💪🏻
Hahha I bet
i would probably struggle to do this on my road bike
I've got to get on the tube now to try and find that Boris bike 😀
What else can be done on a Boris bike?
Good luck!! ;)
Video starts at 02:01
Well done Shakira!!! The hips don’t lie.😅
Hahaha...loved it!!!!
Thanks mate!!
Is taping shoes to flat pedals legit? 🤔
250 mg and 250 mL of water means the exact same amount 👍
Crazy lad
Haha thanks mate
What is a Boris Bike?
Nickname for the city-bikes in London, because Boris Johnson started the scheme when he was mayor (though the idea was in place before him lol)
Yeah basically just the city hire bikes you see all over the world aha
It's all fun and games until pros start to do it.
I wish I was good enough to be pro, ahah.
AGI1 😂😂
*"Delightful"* 🤢😂
Absolutely pointless but absolutely loved it 😂💪💪
The best type of challenges haha
Are you now an official Guinness world record holder? Is there any more you can create or try and beat?@@Cameron_Jeffers
👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😉
And you didn't even wear an aero helmet!
:(
Nice haha
Shouldn’t it be sunak bike 🚲
haha it should now!
Did you pay someone else to get the bike for you? 😂😂😂
Hahha
1. Nice work.
2. I noticed you mentioned the bike's weight. But you're on a completely flat track, so hundreds and hundreds of content creators and internet physicists have told me it's completely irrelevant.... 😮

If only Sam was around to see you actually accomplish something...
Big Sam
The title is kind of spoiler alert…
why are you being so inconsistent with youtube videos lately?
Can you try again with your preferred saddle +clipped pedals? 🫵😔

Yeah I agree, regarding the gearing - I wonder if they do this purposefully to keep speeds down?

Ok.. this is genius! Lets do a competition in Vienna @wienerlinien on the Citybikes!
