I’ve been a musician all my life until a spinal and brain injury a few years ago. Before then I played all sorts of instruments as well as spent a few years learning music productions d tech back in the early 2000’s when we had Cubase and a chunky pc lol. Since my injury I’ve not been able to play any instruments. I’ve tried a few I thought would be accessible but they just needed too much upper arm or neck/head movement (my spine is completely fused from skull to shoulders). This finally looks like something that could be accessible for someone like me. It looks like it could function with very little arm movement and without needing to look down at the instrument. I’m starting to explore making music using my iPad Pro but hesitant to invest in any midi instrument which may not be accessible for me. I’d love to try this one. For now I’ll keep watching yt videos of others using it and see it in action. But well done developers for creating an instrument which may allow people with severe disabilities to access music making for themselves.
I've had similar physical restrictions as well, and thought this would be a great tool for making music again. Another choice for a midi controller that may suit you, is the Aturia Beatstep Pro. Also, the Novation Circuit (original), can be had for about $200, and has 2 synths and drum tracks also. Loads of fun. They came out with an upgraded version called the Circuit Tracks, and I just got the Circuit Rhythm, which is a sampler.
Man did you get one? I’d love to buy you one. If your truly interested let me know.. you sound like you enjoyed making music and I don’t think that should be taken from anyone.. please let me know. I’ll have them ship it directly to you if possible.

I finally received my Orba and i love it. But i got a really annoying problem: The 8th Button only makes a weird unhealthy sound in drummode, no matter which "Sounddesign" i chose... That makes me so sad, can you please help me?
Hey there! The good news is that your Orba is working just fine. The 8th pad in Drum mode is Orba's Shaker. The idea is that you hold the 8th pad and shake Orba back and forth to get a shaker type effect. Because Orba is driven by it's internal synthesizer and can't store audio samples, what you're hearing isn't a shaker audio sample, but rather Orba's internal synthesizer emulating the sound of a shaker. It's something we're still working on fine tuning, and it will get better and better with time. Be sure to keep your Orba's firmware and app software up to date, as this is the best way to ensure the your Orba plays at it's very best.
when i try to download the app on windows to update the firmware, the app launches as a blank screen and i already tried using the windows guide to fix it and nothing

Looks really cool! 2 questions pop to mind: 1) What scales can I play on it and can I change the scale? (Maybe without an app?) 2) How do you control the looper? It's really hard to tell from the videos how it actually works... Thanks!
Artiphon, so basically you just ignored questions and put another pretty non informative video as an answer. There is no full explanation about scales, or adjustments, or looper control in that video
I liked mine when it worked. Sadly though it became an expensive paperweight after the battery failed to charge. Customer support was responsive, but not effective. Hope the company is able to do better in the future.
The Orba is amazingly powerful. I am looking forward to advancing my skills. Technically the Orba belongs to our son so I get to play the Orba after he goes to sleep.
We love hearing feedback from our Orba musicians and we’ll be introducing new features to Orba in future firmware updates, so keep the feedback coming!
Orba is becoming available in more and more countries around the world. As we continue to expand our international distribution you can visit artiphon.com/where-to-buy to stay informed about when Orba becomes available in your area :).
How sensitive are the triggers for drums (are they really feather-light touch)? Can you use 2 fingers on a single pad to do flams/rolls? I'd love hearing the shaker setting triggering hi hats...
This is a great question. The pads are very sensitive to your touch. They are velocity sensitive as well. As far as playing flams, they respond very well to those double hits. Check out our "Have Yourself a MIDI Little Christmas" video, where we finger drum on Orba, and do a few of those flam hits on the kick pad.

Excellent!!! Fabulous!!!
Hi there, our tech specialist would be happy to walk through the firmware updating process with you. Please shoot us an email at support@artiphon.com.
Beyond dope. Got one for my 8 year son and myself!!! Can’t wait to see what’s next!!!
How's your son getting on with it? Considering getting one for my 9yo.
Yeah great, but how much is it?
Hey Louis, Orba is $99. We’re currently accepting reservations from our first batch or Orbas at Artiphon.com and you can save your place in line here: promotions.lpage.co/campaigns/1152922
Where can i get one? Im in japan so i wonder if you sell it online?
Hey there! Thanks for your interest. We do indeed ship Orba to Japan. :) We just wrapped up a Kickstarter campaign, but we’re now accepting reservations from our first batch of Orbas. Save your place in line here: promotions.lpage.co/campaigns/1152922
Looks really cool! 2 questions pop to mind: 1) What scales can I play on it and can I change the scale? (Maybe without an app?)
2) How do you control the looper? It's really hard to tell from the videos how it actually works...
Thanks!
Hi Frederik! Watch this demo for a better idea: ruclips.net/video/yoxUlNmhQWw/видео.html
Artiphon, so basically you just ignored questions and put another pretty non informative video as an answer.
There is no full explanation about scales, or adjustments, or looper control in that video
@@andreputov4747 jup... Kickstarter is over anyway, i just wait for real customer reviews and then probably not buy it
Too cute puppy ending.
I liked mine when it worked. Sadly though it became an expensive paperweight after the battery failed to charge. Customer support was responsive, but not effective. Hope the company is able to do better in the future.
It's a great product tbh. I see a lot of potential in targeting untalented hipsters.
Late Night Thinker I know I can’t wait to get mine!!
LMAO. hilarious, but in their defense, this is insane and dope asf..
@@GanjaBabyy no argument there, this thing is pretty neat
This thing is fun. I don't even care what people think.
@@stevencox3019 no doubt, WGAF?
I ADORE my new Orba!!
So so SOOO
Much fun.
Especially on edibles.
Keep on going!!
1:43 What does this even mean? 😂😂
Damn, based on your demo this sounds incredible; so how come some really bad reviews as to latency and lack of programmability?
Legendary
What about latency?
There are mobile apps for this
cool, like what?
Shockwave Music like what?
The Orba is amazingly powerful. I am looking forward to advancing my skills. Technically the Orba belongs to our son so I get to play the Orba after he goes to sleep.
Orba after dark! Glad it's bringing more music to the family, Milo.
I really want to know if it's possible to put your own sound (p.e. the sound of a balloon losing air) on the Orba. It should be fantastic!
We love hearing feedback from our Orba musicians and we’ll be introducing new features to Orba in future firmware updates, so keep the feedback coming!
Honestly, I'd buy this just for fun to play around on a flight or something, not to make music tho!
Brilliant!
Why you sell this only in USE?
Is this not CE certified?
@@Artiphon want
At the moment, Orba seems most inviting as a powerful, yet portable expressive MIDI controller.
When will Artiphon implement user sample import?
