Very useful video man, great showcasing! Can you somehow change the keys' tuning to other scales? I mean not just transposing and octaves, but changing the scales and getting rid of the sickeningly happy major and pentatonic stuff lol.
Man this thing is so cool. I'd never even heard of this thing. Almost Buchla-like in how it completely re-imagines the music-making interface (ie, not just another piano-keyboard)
What a cool and fun video. Second one in a row that I've watched. I'm going to get an orba now. Lol. I am surprised you don't have more subscribers yet. They're coming - keep it up! Your music and video production quality are incredible. Like, wow! Your channel is a RUclips gem - subscribed & 🔔 on.
Are you still using this little thingy? :) I was wondering if this could be one of the cheaper alternatives for MPE out there? Or have you seen anything else like it for such a great price? Cheers!
I love it all! Thank you for this video.. it covered exactly what I was looking for. I bought my Orba within the last week. Cannot wait for it to arrive. It's the perfect fidget toy/instrument for those with ADHD like myself :D
Did the orbs ever get updated?did they allow you too edit the synth or drums and did they add new presets? All the vids I’ve seen have a pitiful amount of presets and no editing so looks like you’d get bored very easily
Liam! Been watching your videos and following your Reddit and I’m considering buying a volca fm and a model:cycles. Do you think these two would be a good combo, and the best bang for my buck?
@@LiamKillen okay! Do you think that model cycles is well worth the money? I’m honestly choosing between cycles and samples at this point, so I dunno which to pick?
Not really good, consistency-wise. While making a pattern, it gave out a wild screech and everything was gone. Also, can't get it to stay connected wirelessly to either my Mac or my iPad. And, why is every sound fuzzy, especially when added together and it all sounds like a muddy mess? Yours sounds much, much better than mine, even if I use headphones. It could be soooo much fun!
You can change dynamics of sounds by touching on different points of the pads. You sort of have to feel it out and mix yourself on the fly. I agree some sounds are tricky. I’m working around the same bug actually with the wireless thing- I mentioned it to the team.
@@LiamKillen I mean, its so inconsistent, app is poor, speaker is crap.I think in this price range its better to get PO series than this. But if You have fun that's great.
Who releases videos on a Friday? I DO:

I believe with one of their later updates that is possible 😊
They really should have payed you for this video! You really showed how fun the Orba can be if you work within it's limitations!
I appreciate you watching ! :-)
amazing the vast wealth of sounds and capabilities of this little dynamo .. thanks for walking us through the endless possibilities .. cheers !
Indeed! thank YOU! 🙂
Woah 09:24 reminded me of the opening music of the NES game Bubble Bobble!
Oh oh oh!
Your production quality is so good for such a small channel, if you keep up the good work you should easily be able to get way bigger
Fingers crossed! 🤞🏽 Also thank you!
The happy face at 6:04 it's priceless. Great video! Really good channel!
Thank u!!!
I’ve been waiting for someone to make this video. I really wish the app would play a sample before loading.
Cheers! Hopefully this informs some decisions.
I keep seeing this instrument and glad to come across this video.
🍻
9:39 You need to make full version of Yoga Jam
Thanks for sharing the video demonstrating the device
Haha! My pleasure! cheers
Man this thing is so cool. I'd never even heard of this thing. Almost Buchla-like in how it completely re-imagines the music-making interface (ie, not just another piano-keyboard)
It also makes for a really solid midi controller! Saves lots of desk space.

A secret lil gem. Thanks Andrew. Really appreciate that 🙂
Wonderful instrument
absolutely
10:46 this my jam
Orba jamz for life.
Hey man I love all your vids you deserve more attention! Consider sharing to Reddit more that’s how I found you earlier this year!
I rock Reddit so hard! Thank you so much! Cheers
Phase 2 of my project is picking up weird little synths. This definitely fits the bill!
😏
Great channel
I appreciate u!
But does it come with ANY built-in sounds, or do you HAVE to downloads sounds into it, before you can play with it?
It's been a while but from what I can remember, there are stock sounds in the unit.
Most useful Orba demo I've seen! Sounds good. (How might you get MIDI synch with this? Is there an ARP in there?)
No arp! I haven’t explored the midi sync realm with orba that much yet but you can def do it!
Can u add/import ur own mp3 or m4a data?
Possibly with Orba 2 - not 100 % sure.
Are you still using this little thingy? :) I was wondering if this could be one of the cheaper alternatives for MPE out there? Or have you seen anything else like it for such a great price? Cheers!
It makes for a great desktop midi controller
I love it all! Thank you for this video.. it covered exactly what I was looking for.

Perfect for that! haha
The APP doesn't work in any device: PC (widows 10), smartphone (last android) and tablet. I need help, please.
I would try contacting them
android works pretty well for me.. I have to try other OS as well

They’ve updated a bunch since this video but i haven’t had the chance to check it out
Liam! Been watching your videos and following your Reddit and I’m considering buying a volca fm and a model:cycles. Do you think these two would be a good combo, and the best bang for my buck?
I don’t know much about volca fm so i wouldn’t be the best person to ask!
@@LiamKillen okay! Do you think that model cycles is well worth the money? I’m honestly choosing between cycles and samples at this point, so I dunno which to pick?
I wish I owned all the gear but I don’t! haha.
I’ve got a Digitone from Elektron and that’s about it
Now that you've had it a while, how often do you use this compared to any one of your teenage engineering PO's?
It's a different thing. TBH I don't use it standalone but I still use it as a midi controller for my DAW very often.
@@LiamKillen that's exactly what I needed to know. Really like your videos man, thanks for being so helpful/informative
Thanks for the video! Do you know if it's possible to control hardware synths plug and play style? Say the volca keys for example
I believe that it is!
Do you still have It ?
Yeah i'm planning on doing another video in the near future- just a few things I need to check out beforehand.
Thanks for doing this video. I was wondering if the Orba can receive midi notes?
It works as a midi controller
That thing is cool! Correct me if I'm wrong tho... it changes octaves, but has no sharps/flats???
Yup! It’s completely diatonic- blessing and a curse
Quick question: What happened to the Microfreak giveaway?
Its been given away! I announced it on my instagram, twitter, tiktok and on RUclips community.
But does it djent?
DJent? Not sure what that means
@@LiamKillen Look it up. You’ll know.

they must place one example sample on the app for each sound, choosing one is allways tedious and terrible
Choices choices choices!
I do have it and I'm going to return it. 👎This product its a joke.
Damn sorry you think that!
@@LiamKillen I mean, its so inconsistent, app is poor, speaker is crap.I think in this price range its better to get PO series than this. But if You have fun that's great.
POs are solid too for sure
Quatsch mit Soße
😏
literally worse than 3xosc, completely useless
Ouchy
You must be a spokesman...cringe.
I am not actually. I do know they’ve sold tens of thousands of units though, so I guess not everyone thinks it’s useless? 🤷🏻♂️
Liam Killen - I was referring to the OP. Sharp words always come off as uneasy. 👊😇
✌🏼
Looks pretty lame
Well glad to inform you lol
