I'm a 20 y/o creator, and leaving my last job encouraged me to reevaluate my priorities through the discipline and resilience I've developed whilst encountering financial struggles and a negative bank account (even whilst I'm still living with my parents and supported by my dad). Money's an essential resource for our survival and often important to access resources to improve our well-being, but most people are sadly not willing to take that leap and instead choose settle for less when there are people in the world with lesser resources by force. As you've mentioned before, you can't thrive by trying to survive and only focusing on that. Profound insights, Ruri! :D
You said at the end that you'd like to know what we think about your system. I'd say, for someone your age you've done an incredible job at figuring out how to navigate your challenges and many of the ideas you share seem useful and are worth testing.
How is she making 30k dollars a month with only 500k views a month? Even with a huge RPM of 10, she would still earn only around $5,000 per month. And then, let's say she earns that amount of RPM from sponsorships, another $5,000, even though that's unlikely. Or is she running multiple channels or businesses? I am genuinely asking.

Ruri, I've been watching your content for years now. I first found you for your language videos (I am trying to learn Japanese), I stuck around for your productivity videos and then about ADHD (as I am diagnosed with it as well). I was curious if you could do a realistic week in your life video. Show us your calendar at the beginning of the week and then how it changed by the end. I struggle to get things done, I procrastinate A LOT (or just overwhelmed paralysis). My therapist has encouraged I get into a physical activity so on top of my iTalki lessons, working a full time job, adulting and seeing family - I've added in tae kwon do classes 2x a week. At first I felt great because without anything after work, I would just come home, watch my regular RUclips videos and news and then not have the discipline/"motivation" to work more after hours or study Japanese so I would just lay in bed until I fell asleep by like 7/8pm and then wake up at 630/7am for work the next morning. Felt good to get exercise in but now into my 3rd week and I am already starting to feel overwhelmed in a different way. Now I feel like I have no "break" time and that I need to be focused 100% of the time. I have started to neglect basic needs, skipping meals, hygiene etc. and starting to feel like a failure. How did you come to the routine you currently have? How can I find an in-between? Any suggestions? Work (8am-4pm, plus commute of 10-30 minutes depending on the traffic; tae kwon do in evenings 730-830pm (plus 15 min commute); iTalki lessons 1-2 times a week from 8-9pm. Duolingo studying normally happens either right before I leave for work or after work when I first arrive home - hoping it motivates me to open the textbook or anki deck but never works... so now it's a streak counter with friends to try and stay disciplined in some aspect of my life. I am older than you - 32, My goal for 2024 was to study and pass the JLPT N5 this December. Exam is on Dec 1... and I am going to fail. I didn't study outside of my iTalki lessons nearly enough. Practice tests I don't do well... and my vocab went from decent to absolute crap around September when I ended up in hospital with emergency surgery. Since then I just fell off the rails for everything. My goal as a 30 year old was to pass the JLPT N5 in Dec 2025 SO part of me I guess decided: "oh you can just try next year, and use this year as practice". Because #1: I have a learning disability, on top of ADHD which makes regular test taking incredibly hard and I have a hearing difficulty. So I just wanted to try 2024 as a test to see if I can be seated near the speakers or what it's like. That was January 2024 me being realistic. In Q2 2024 I thought, hey I can take the exam and pass and tried schedules but they never stuck. I dunno I am rambling now. Maybe seeing someone who is somewhat similar to me in SOME aspects struggle with the "ideal" week and can show how her week starts and then show how it truly turns out like, can help this ADHD brain be more relaxed and prepared for 2025.
I've tried Notion (free) to organize thoughts, take notes, plan years, quarters, months, weeks and even journal mostly daily. I've tried anki and memrise for vocab (prefer memrise for the longest time until they ruined the app). I'm currently using Google Calendar with my partner so we can keep track of appointments (we are also getting married in less than 2 months - so this year has been more chaotic than usual) and just how I want my days and weeks to go but... I just struggle so bad. :(

You know who else uses attractive photos to take your money? Chinese romance scammers.

Now I feel like I have no "break" time and that I need to be focused 100% of the time. I have started to neglect basic needs, skipping meals, hygiene etc. and starting to feel like a failure.
How did you come to the routine you currently have? How can I find an in-between? Any suggestions?
Work (8am-4pm, plus commute of 10-30 minutes depending on the traffic; tae kwon do in evenings 730-830pm (plus 15 min commute); iTalki lessons 1-2 times a week from 8-9pm. Duolingo studying normally happens either right before I leave for work or after work when I first arrive home - hoping it motivates me to open the textbook or anki deck but never works... so now it's a streak counter with friends to try and stay disciplined in some aspect of my life.
I am older than you - 32, My goal for 2024 was to study and pass the JLPT N5 this December. Exam is on Dec 1... and I am going to fail. I didn't study outside of my iTalki lessons nearly enough. Practice tests I don't do well... and my vocab went from decent to absolute crap around September when I ended up in hospital with emergency surgery. Since then I just fell off the rails for everything.
My goal as a 30 year old was to pass the JLPT N5 in Dec 2025 SO part of me I guess decided: "oh you can just try next year, and use this year as practice". Because #1: I have a learning disability, on top of ADHD which makes regular test taking incredibly hard and I have a hearing difficulty. So I just wanted to try 2024 as a test to see if I can be seated near the speakers or what it's like. That was January 2024 me being realistic. In Q2 2024 I thought, hey I can take the exam and pass and tried schedules but they never stuck.
I dunno I am rambling now. Maybe seeing someone who is somewhat similar to me in SOME aspects struggle with the "ideal" week and can show how her week starts and then show how it truly turns out like, can help this ADHD brain be more relaxed and prepared for 2025.
I've tried Notion (free) to organize thoughts, take notes, plan years, quarters, months, weeks and even journal mostly daily. I've tried anki and memrise for vocab (prefer memrise for the longest time until they ruined the app). I'm currently using Google Calendar with my partner so we can keep track of appointments (we are also getting married in less than 2 months - so this year has been more chaotic than usual) and just how I want my days and weeks to go but... I just struggle so bad. :(

Would you likely still watch her if she were a much older woman? I'm not here to judge, I'm trying to stop you from falling into a trap so many fall into

@@ziyaerel2015 No problem, you have to be very careful with these predatory types, they know how to target your pain points (maybe you're lonely, maybe you want financial freedom), and an attractive woman (or man if you're female) comes and sells you a dream. You know who else uses attractive photos to take your money? Chinese romance scammers.
