I'm in my mid 60's and have been riding since 72. I've had open class sport bikes, Harleys, classic British bikes, Ducatis, etc., and I think this slow little bike is probably extremely fun.
I just bought the gsx s version of this brand new due to needing a light bike as I'm finding bigger ones too heavy at the moment due to health condition. Looking at top speed videos of these record indicated speeds of 83mph at the rev limiter, probably a true 78-80😃. Been out on it everyday this week and enjoying it apart from the bloody headwinds we've been getting this week making it feel like a 50cc at times especially trying not to use all the revs with it been new! Looking online Suzuki GB did used to supply the centre stand's for both model's, but for some reason stopped 😡,but if you want one there available in Japan 🙂
@@Fractal379 Yes totally!! I have kept everything stock and managed a top speed of 76mph at best. It's exhilarating enough and very punchy, I'm still contemplating on whether to get 3rd party exhaust fitted or not, but then again the plan is to sit my DAS course, pass it for full licence and just pick up a GSXR, from 500 cc and upwards. I'm definitely leaning towards the new GSX-8R
I’ve not had a go on one so I can’t say. I would guess though that The yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki etc will all be very well made. I comes down to personal preference. Which one do you prefer?
I have the same bike i have put a black widow exhaust on puts back pressure on the engine ive have 87 on mine and still could go you can increase the rev counter on them to 2019 verson dont have a restriction on them anything above that do

Hey Gilly, My Son is 6' 2" and He wants to buy a 125cc sports bike, Any advice on which bike would be most suited for His height?. Personally I am a Car guy, But I do like watching motobike reviews.
All of the 125 sports bikes I’ve tried are all very similar height wise. Best advice I can give is take him to a dealers that sells them and he can jump on a few and see which bike he’s most comfortable on. 125 sports bikes are all quite small so he might feel cramped on all of them. Hopefully not though. Keep me posted. G.
Not a rider …..yet but I think once I start learning I will have to start on a 125 despite what I want to ride. Re the wrist pains, I was wondering - could this be sorted by changing the handle bars? I mean, I’ve seen a fair few bike vids and for nearly all of them, irrespective of type of bike ( so sports, adventure, dual sorts, scrambler etc) folks talk about swapping stock bars out for stuff like bar risers or after market stuff. Is that something that can be done to this bike? If so maybe getting a different set of bars, maybe more higher up or possibly more ‘open’/ away from the body could possibly help? Im 70kg and will mainly be using this for communing in and around London. If I do any longer rides it def wont be more than say more than 1.5hrs so hearing about wrist pain is a bit disconcerting. (I have pipe cleaners for arms!! Lol)
Yes you’re right you can spend more money making the bike fit you better. Some bar risers can help. I’ve been on a few sports 125’s that come as standard with a higher position so much better on the wrist I’ve done a review on the Keeway rkr and you can feel the difference here’s a link. ruclips.net/video/V5EjiusVCCo/видео.htmlsi=yEfBYmZnd_K5KhcQ
Hey mate, just as a reference how tall are you? I’m 6’5 and I’ve sat on the bike before and it felt surprisingly comfortable but I’m not sure if while riding my height will be my downfall 😂
These will be fine for you. They are as big as any of its rivals. I’m a small 5ft 8. The main thing is if you feel comfortable when you sit on it. Also you are a giant. Please never stand next to me 😭. Just joking. 😂
Cheers mate. Yeah I get a lot of comments about my height, long way to go till I stop growing I’m 17 so there’s a few years for me to slow down 😂 but yeah I’ll probably end up on one of these bikes. Great review and cheers for the reply 👍🏻
@GillyBikes There's GXsr for sale nearly mint with extras for £2500 or I buy brand new kawasaki ninja for nearly £5k As im new rider ....thought this GXsr was bargain and if dented ....its not tooooo bad a deal
Just got one of these bikes, much faster than my lexmoto lxs which topped out at 78. The suzuki does 70 in 4th gear surprisingly, I love the bike. No need to rev the tits out of it, not great for comfort after an hour though lol
Thinking about picking this model up as my first bike, i m 38 and 189cm, will it be fine or would i look strange on it? if yes what other 125 would you reccomend?
I’m sure this would be fine, but sports bikes tend to be suitable for the smaller rider. However lots of bigger guys ride sports bikes. It’s about how you feel on them. Best advice is go and sit on one. If you feel comfortable then go for it.
@@simpleclipzr125 is bigger and heavier but it has better torque at low rpm than this gsxr125, good thing about gsxr125 is it's lighter, nimble and has better too speed than competitors

Its vastly overpriced for the 125 cc market. Most people will not spend £5.000 on a bike they dont intend on keeping for long say a year or yr n half max. Most 125 riders on cbt are simply riding a bike untill they get their full car licence and then probably wont touch a bike again. I don’t think people look at it that way anymore. I think most will say I can get a keeway for £40 per month or I can get one of these for £60 and they think for only £20 a month difference or £5 per week they can have one of these. Using finance as a way to buy these means more people do.

These are made in Indonesia as 150cc with a longer stroke for the Asian market.
Yes. In the uk 125’s are learner bikes. 150’s are to big for them. So they won’t sell them here. No market for them.
