  • Candi Brings Plenty is as a queer Indigenous, Two-Spirit, cis Oglala Lakota Sioux Activist, and Spiritual Practitioner. She is a direct descendent of Crazy Horse’s band and honors her Aztec Mexica ancestry. Her red lipstick is her warpaint as she takes her place on the frontlines as a Two-Spirit Warrior Queen. She is the founder of the Standing Rock Two-Spirit Nation encampment and continues to stand in the face of the colonizer to protect the sacred.
FRED (Facing Race, Elevating Democracy) Talks is part of Race Forward’s Mass Freedom project. Mass Freedom seeks to bridge movements to end systems of mass criminalization by 1) elevating the experiences of those who have been most directly affected by these systems, and by 2) empowering communities of color to unite amidst a political landscape that grows more threatening with each day.
