ESO PvP: Old School Tether Bomb Build [Update 39]

- With the new addition of the Nibenay Bay Battlereeve monster set, a lot of players are turning to this monster set as a defensive solution to prevent getting bombed by Dark Convergence and Rush of Agony builds. While you can still kill players running this set with the above mentioned builds, I decided to test out going back to my roots in regards to Nightblade bombing and test out some Soul Tether builds with no pull sets.
Yes I am aware of the acuity ravage health potion tether build and yes it is quite strong. However it has a few drawbacks such as not being able to chug potions on cooldown for ulti gen and sustain, and a very long cooldown preventing you from bombing a group and following it up with another bomb while others are resurrecting them.
There are a lot of other sets that are viable for tether bombing that I didn't mention in the video. If you are interested, you can try out the following sets to pair with Vicious Death and Balorgh which are also very good options for a tether build:
- War Maiden
- Orders Wrath
- Coral Riptide (Difficult to use effectively but very high potential)
- New Moon Acolyte
- Stygian
- Archers's Mind

Immovables are always really good but then you have to slot a skill that gives you major sorcery (I dont believe shadowy disguise gives sorcery now). That's the only reason for my potion choice. There's lots of changes that can be made to this build that will all work honestly. Just comes down to personal preference which is one of the things I love about pvp builds in this game

I remember way back there were some that could kill a group on a flag with soul tether, bat swarm (when it was worth a damn) and steel tornado.

Great build, thanks for the video. Not sure if you realize though, you may have updated it in a later video, but Relentless Focus (stam morph) stacks to 400 weapon and spell damage. If you're not intending to fire off the skill, it's the better choice.
That morph for some reason doesn't keep stacks out of combat. Only merciless does otherwise relentless would definitely be the better choice for bombing
They must have patched this so they both keep stacks with U40, on PC this is my experience, something to look forward to possibly for Console. Regardless, thanks for the video.

Could i put stealth om frontbar and take out inner light and put healthy offering on back bar? Or its not gonna work for this plague build
You can do that. I just prefer cloak back bar so I can stack 1 more passive damage skill on my front bar

What add-ons u use in this clip for buffs and health,stamina,magika bars?
I play on xbox so no add ons. My UI is just scaled as small as possible
What would you recommend for battle grounds. Wish people would make battle ground videos for all classes
any build that works in 1vx situations should work in BGs no problem. a bomber build might not be the best idea since its only 8 possible people together and they arent always grouped up

What would your recommend for a rush of agony bomber build?
Rush + VD/PB + Balorgh. I would use dawnbreaker over tether for that probably but both work. I'm not crazy about rush of agony but it definitely works

I actually have never noticed that until you just pointed it out. Pretty sure it's a visual bug because I definitely do not press my pot that often lol

That's a good question. I haven't played at all yet this patch but I've heard mixed reviews about the EA nb set for bombing
How about dagons for the AOE boost? Does that not buff prox det? @@mistergram
@TomUtley1 it's decent. The max stam line isn't great though. When I was doing my testing it was hard to get rid of plaguebreak. No other sets paired with VD seemed to perform as well for tether bombing
Thanks for the info! I'm still confused as to which damage boosting sets boost base damage and which ones do not. Seems like if Dagon's boosted base damage it would be hard to beat. @@mistergram

Sets that pull other players to one location. Rush of agony and dark convergence are the most common pull sets

It will still work but there are some tweaks I would probably make with the new scribing system

The easiest way to kill players and i see no satisfaction on that. You can literally teach a monkey to bomb
.... the easiest way to kill players is doing exactly what the people hes killing is doing, sitting in groups of 10+ chasing one guy around the map, detect potting any chance they get to. There is A LOT of satisfaction seeing the zerglings get completely nuked in 1 second. Judging from your recent vid, the duo you were with IS a zergling so wouldnt surprise me if you are just salty from being bombed too many times 🤣
