I like the symbolism of the little head nods at 1:47 and also how accurate they are. The Soviets saw each-other as equals. The General Secretary was not royalty, he was just the leader. Gorbachev had no personality cult. People did not adore or idolize him; they just recognized him as the leader and so respected him. That is why Drago simply nods his head, and why Gorbachev nods back. But I also love the fact that when Drago nods his head, his gaze falls to the floor. He can't bear to actually look at Gorbachev while doing this, whereas when Gorbachev nods his head his gaze is always fixated on Drago. It shows that Drago is tough physically but he relies on the opinion of others.
YOU MUST leave in the 2 times when Rocky looks over during the song and sees Drago looking back at him over his shoulder. It is a chilling and intimidating part of the scene. It is almost paramount to the anticipation and anxiety feel. Cant believe thats not in here.
Drago was the scariest and most intimidating specimens of all Rocky's challengers. Even Adrian says what everyone is thinking 'you know what everyone says, its suicide!! You've seen him you know how strong he is, YOU CAN'T WIN! Drago has almost given up on people, he's so focused he doesn't even answer questions in the creed press conference. It's like he hates anyone who gets in his way of being the absolute best on earth. He sees rocky as a irritating obstacle to destroy to establish he's number one. Doing for himself, not the government like he acts initially for diplomacy.
I also love how this fight haunted Rocky later on. In Creed II when Drago asks about why there's no pictures of their fight, and Rocky says, "No. No pictures of that." The physical toll and cost of that fight. He beat Drago, but it still never brought Apollo back...and that's still haunts him. Revenge is a funny thing.

There were trying to make Drago look like a villain. Instead, they ended up making him look cool and Apollo a clown.
For Apollo’s part it was intended, he was full on the showboat and underestimated his opponent which caused the tragic.
Nope. They made it clear that Apollo wanted to make a show of it and a nice exhibition, Drago took it too serious.
