    Is this what they based “Days of thunder “ off of ?

    • @gerritgraham931

      Yes it was, Tom Cruise did his homework before he played the part of Tim Richmond "aka Cole trickle"and made a visit to Barry Dodsons race car shop in NC and sat down with a few crew members and Tom just said tell me about Tim Richmond and Barry said well you're gonna be here for a little so get your pen and paper ready. I started following Tim when he started racing in the early 80s and I'm still a fan of his. Me and my dad went to the movies and saw the movie days of thunder the day it came out.

    Tim quit racing? Didn't he get kicked out by NASCAR because they assumed he was on drugs?

    • @gerritgraham931
      @gerritgraham931 5 лет назад +5

      Well yes and no really, it's kinda messed up how they did it to Tim. Google the Tim Richmond story and it'll give you the whole story. It all started in 1987 when he said he caught quemonia, and he resigned from Hendrick Motorsports, and then tried to come back and had to take a drug test and physical, failed the drug test the first time and took it again and passed it but then he didn't have a ride. I don't think NASCAR wanted anything to do with him after he tested positive. But then later on the doctor that did the drug testing came forward and admitted that he purposely marked his test positive at the request of NASCAR the doctor was fired because of that shortly after that. So messed up deal all together I was a big fan of Tim's. He would of been a NASCAR champion at some point, he was a very talented driver.

      @@jamesh8893 no the doctor that over seen the drug test was the same one that did the NFL drug test. He was later found to be easily bought. He was fired by the NFL and NASCAR. This isnt the first time NASCAR has done this. In the ealry 2000's there was a driver that was barred from NASCAR for having meth in his system. Well he sued and they found at that the amount he tested for was not possible as he would be dead. And mors the 25 doctors agreed. NASCAR is dead. And has been since the mid 80's.
