I appreciate how Hyundai-Kia is attempting to break into the market more by creating products that have more value for their class and innovative styling. They are even doing this with their luxury brand genesis. While the company has an economy reputation now and made the mistake of a sedan line up with the genesis launch. They do care about quality and enthusiasts (putting a stick in the luxury sporty sedans) and they are putting money into cool enthusiast vehicles (the stinger gt) instead of “appealing” to enthusiasts (the Camry TRD), anyway, I respect the company for making a truly honest efforts and it was stay in my mind next time I am in the buying proccess. Car companies are worried that people aren’t buying enough new cars or stock shift cars, this kind of behavior is what will influence me to do so- NOT fake vents, fake exhausts, etc
Hey guys! I drive a 2018 Hyundai Kona Ultimate and I use the bluelink everyday. I only turn on the ignition with the start/stop button if I forget to use bluelink or my hands are too full to use my phone. I absolutely love it. I can select how long the engine runs, climate control, defroster, heated mirrors etc. I also love the fact that I get a text as soon as the command goes through. If I can't remember locking the car I can just lock it from the app. It's the best! Thank you guys for all the great content. You are the best in the business 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼
239th comment!! And honestly “Millennial” focuses cars are annoying and condescending even at times. We just want more bang for buck, at cheap prices. When you ruin the planet many times and pass it off, we don’t get much pleasure choices.
As for app-based controllers, I have Volvo OnCall with my XC40. I do use the remote start feature to warm it up for a few minutes in our current frigid temperatures. Activates heat, defrost, heated seat and steering wheel.
I sat in this car at the LA Auto Show, it has a pretty great optional blue and white interior. My Girlfriend loved the car and its size, but she also wants something much larger. If i was looking for a sub-subcompact CUV this is the one i'd get over the Kicks.
Good job on the STI. All millennials that care about cars, should buy the 'spirited' cars. This is the only way we will convince manufacturers to keep making the good stuff.
We have an itty bitty HR-V for our basic family hauling needs, and it's been a reliable little runner. But this is more interesting and well thought-out in my eyes. The rear doesn't have the same versatility that Honda's Magic Seat system has, but otherwise, I think it's a better package for the class than the HR-V. I do think this would benefit from an AWD option down the road, but the HR-V's AWD is so horrendous and the stock tires are so miserable that it doesn't make a difference in inclement weather anyway.
I have BlueLink. I use it sometimes, mostly in the winter for remote start. The good thing is I got five years of free service with my new Tucson that I bought last year. It lets you start, lock and unlock the car, turn on the lights, etc. It will also track kilometres, fuel levels, etc. The downside is it’s super, super slow. To remote start my car takes literally 2-3 minutes, and you have to keep the screen on the entire time. Also, the remote start times out at 10 minutes, and that’s not really long enough to heat up your car in the winter, especially with the auto climate control, so it’s not blasting hot air right away. Overall, I’m glad it’s there, and I like that it’s free, and I didn’t have to get a remote starter installed, but I wouldn’t say it’s a great system.
Handy video. I was very interested in this Venue thing but clearly, it's underpowered and appears to be more about looks over substance. I'm starting to feel the same about the Kona as well. I might actually go with the Hyundai Elantra GT (hatch). Not as cool looking as the Venue or Kona but in terms of functionality (and likely comfort and quiet ride) - BETTER. Thanks guys!
Hey Yuri and Jakub, I'm the random guy in the RAV4 that waved at ya'll when you were driving this car by the lake. So wild that I ran into you guys. My girlfriend's actually pretty interested in this car and we were taking a look at it at our local Hyundai Dealer the day before I spotted you guys.
This is the type of car a parent would buy for their kid as a surprise on their 16th birthday for getting their license thinking they’ll like it cause it’s hip
For city life, the higher ground clearance eliminates scrapes to the suspension and underbody parts on potholes, cracked uneven sunken roads, and construction metal plates. This reduces the frequency of needing alignment and repainting the underbody to prevent rust. The higher sight line allows longer range visibility, earlier visibility over a hill, visibility through your left and right adjacent cars, so you can see if there is another hidden car/pedestrian behind them, which increases safety and the driver's planning time. This also allows earlier visual detection of uniformed persons in vehicles with lights and megaphones in the same fashion. The higher seats require less hip range of motion to enter. The higher roof decreases the risk of head injury upon entering the vehicle. The benefits and cost savings far exceed the few dollars you save from a sedan's mpg. One damage to the car, injury to the driver, or one ticket exceeds your sedan mpg savings.
Hey guys u were wondering about the blue link? I have a 2018 Sonata and use it almost every day. Works super quick less than 1 min from opening app to actual start of the car. Can choose how long car idles for and what temperature and vents the air comes from. Also turns on heated steering wheel, heated side mirrors and rear defroster for back window. Can also find ur car if u forgot where u parked and get monthly diagnostics and vehicle use sent to you.

I sure hope that Hyundai {+ all other car companies} realize that there is already a post-millennial generation in existence, who are already entering their early 20s.
My sister has been driving small SUVs since forever because her neighborhood tends to flood during the summer rainy season. She owned a CRV for over 10 years and now drives a HRV since the CRV has gone too upscale (translation: more expensive). And the elevated driving position is a bonus.
There must be something in the water because this looks like a Kia Soul to me. Oh, that's funny, Kia and Hyundai are friends with benefits and share everything. I had to watch the entire video to confirm... Not ONE mention of the Kia Soul. Am I insane?
Guys, love your reviews! In regards to clearance, I live in Saskatchewan and with snow and infrequent road plowing, clearance is definitely an issue. Newer cars are definitely lower to the ground than older ones and although I agree that the Civic is great and meets most needs, I could end up being stranded because of ice ruts and snow. We bought an HRV but even it was closer to the ground than I would prefer. I think it's the gas mileage that is causing cars to be lower. We rented a Seat Arona RS in Europe two summers ago and it was a great car! lots of clearance, 1.4L turbo ... would meet the needs of most people in Canada. Nothing even close to that is on the market. Even Subaru's are close to the ground unless you go with the Crosstrek or Outback.
I had 6 months of free BlueLink on my 2017 Elantra. It was nice because I got the car in the winter, and my parking was nearly a mile away from my dorm room, so I could walk down and be cold but have a warm car waiting for me with the remote start. I think it had controls to turn on the defrosters, too, so brushing snow off it was easier once I got to the car. It’s an awfully expensive subscription service, though, so I didn’t renew it after my trial. I guess it might make a bigger difference on the new Sonata with its summon feature.
What do you think of the Hyundai Venue? Would you buy it over an Elantra or Civic or Ecosport or anything else?
As a Civic Hatch owner, probably not. For the same price I get much more power and a much better ride.

Drove one in California coming from a Subaru. It was crap and 8 years newer than my subaru.
@@Hallowsaw To each his own, but why did you think it was crap? This is our second Hyundai and deff will go back to them later on.
@@JM-nz8gw So even with California traffic going relatively slow I felt like it was underpowered for it's size and the transmission was constantly searching for the right gear. That made for a very jarring ride. Other than that it seemed like the materials on the inside were not put together the best or they used lesser quality stuff. I will say this though, its probably going to be hella better on gas mileage and maintenance. IDk I feel like subaru is like buick in a way where as its like an in between car company between mainstream and luxury vehicles. The Hyundai just felt a little dated on materials that's all.
@@Hallowsaw so sorry for your purchase..
@@seansurfn2 You are sorry for me buying a car for 16k 5 years ago and its still worth 10k. Hmm cost me 2k a year to own if I was to resell it. Do you feel Sorry that i have plenty of room in my sedan that handles better that what most people drive which is a crossover? Do you feel sorry that my car actually has comfortable room even in the back seats. Do you feel sorry that I paid half of what most people paid for their new car that probably will not outlast my NA H6 engine and 5 speed? Do you feel sorry that I feel like there is more to life to what car I drive? Do you feel sorry that I will never know the struggles of accelerating on a busy highway with a 5k lb suv, or a CVT shredding, or lousy turbo lag. Yeah my car may be on the slower side but I am not racing, Im driving to work or across country with my family to enjoy life instead of wasting it on a car that may be faster or flashier just for it to lose 75% of its value in 6-7 years and/ or be unreliable. Oh btw my insurance is dirt cheap on it and its super easy to work on. Please enlighten me
I just bought myself the Christmas gift of a visor test hoodie on Teespring! 😁
On one hand, I love that you guys make videos about "ordinary" cars (coz let's face it, most of your viewers are not going to buy a new lambo this or next year). On the other hand, I am so disappointed when you post a video about a car I'll never ever buy, or even consider buying, because.... well just look at it :D Another one of those bins on wheels :D
Still have to watch it and thumbs up to support you because the review is well made and very informative for those that are actually considering buying this thing.
The version of this car they sell in India gets a wireless charger. Yeyyy🤓
But they removed heated seats in india😔

Ok Boomers
..and that's probably who'll be driving it. As a late Boomer--no pun intended--I wonder if my millenial daughter would be willing to give up her '12 Mazda 5 for this?
Probably not.
@@lego4virgo Nice choice on the 5!
@@Trendyflute Thanks. It's our second. She loves that thing. Vows to drive it until she pulls up the shifter and nothing is connected to it anymore.
I wish Mazda continue to make the 5, because it was my favorite rental car (besides the Kia Soul) to road trip and moved people belongings. I drove from Charlotte, NC to San Diego, CA, to Jacksonville, FL, and back to Charlotte, NC. 🙂
@@JT-fq2bl Question: Have you ever hauled 5 adults in a 5 on any of your trips? I've heard of people doing it, but I can't see it with that tight third row.

Please agree or disagree with me, I want to talk about it
Millennials talking about millennials in the third person
It was fun. Thanks!!!
Millennial Mobile...so do I have to call the garage it’s Safe Space?
As for app-based controllers, I have Volvo OnCall with my XC40. I do use the remote start feature to warm it up for a few minutes in our current frigid temperatures. Activates heat, defrost, heated seat and steering wheel.
Why is Lane Keep needed on a city car again?
Because Americans are distracted commuters, not drivers
I sat in this car at the LA Auto Show, it has a pretty great optional blue and white interior. My Girlfriend loved the car and its size, but she also wants something much larger. If i was looking for a sub-subcompact CUV this is the one i'd get over the Kicks.
Any car ever....
Who is this car for?
Probably anyone that likes it and wants to purchase it.
just anyone who needs a small car and not much speed
Glad you guys got to experience my city. 👍🏾 hope you guys enjoyed your stay !!!
Im a millenial too and I have a Subaru STI 2019, and I see more my grand-mother in this venue than me hehe
You lucky boy I wanna WRX so bad!!!
Good job on the STI. All millennials that care about cars, should buy the 'spirited' cars. This is the only way we will convince manufacturers to keep making the good stuff.
I’m actually really happy that it comes with a manual transmission
1:50 I nose breathed at this part.
Nice
The ground clearance for canadian winter is a game changer for us ! Difference between stuck and free on a snowy morning
Have you guys tested the ecosport?
They've indicated that they have no desire to.
An 'N' model of this would be interesting
It's a good car for Christmas gifts
i subscribed since you guys begged so nicely..lol. Good job and enjoy the videos
Yoooooo right on
Literally no reason to buy it over a Kona
What ever happened to this SUV? It’s 3 years later and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one on the road lol
To be a true millennial car, it needs a “micro agression” filter.
funny and original
Hey guys u were wondering about the blue link? I have a 2018 Sonata and use it almost every day. Works super quick less than 1 min from opening app to actual start of the car. Can choose how long car idles for and what temperature and vents the air comes from. Also turns on heated steering wheel, heated side mirrors and rear defroster for back window. Can also find ur car if u forgot where u parked and get monthly diagnostics and vehicle use sent to you.
Is it a must have feature for future cars for you?
@@TheStraightPipes definatley! Out off all the feature it's probably my favourite. Nothing like going out to ur car when it's below zero and everything is defrosted and warm😁... btw love the channel and shoutout from Beautiful British Columbia Jakub and Yuri
I’ll wait for the Venue N
Great work as always guys 👍
I sure hope that Hyundai {+ all other car companies} realize that there is already a post-millennial generation in existence, who are already entering their early 20s.
Millennials are now old 24-41
My sister has been driving small SUVs since forever because her neighborhood tends to flood during the summer rainy season. She owned a CRV for over 10 years and now drives a HRV since the CRV has gone too upscale (translation: more expensive). And the elevated driving position is a bonus.
Bring out n line of venue
I am no millennials but I love the low close on the ground drive
There must be something in the water because this looks like a Kia Soul to me. Oh, that's funny, Kia and Hyundai are friends with benefits and share everything. I had to watch the entire video to confirm... Not ONE mention of the Kia Soul. Am I insane?
We love our Kona Limited (174 hp), super small for city parking! Bells and whistles, and cheap enough to pay cash.
This thing is a super success in India 🙄
The face Yuri makes during the launch is hilarious!
The center screen isn't lined up and that bothers me
it certainly is not lined up with the top of the dash
