  • Today I'll be moving over to the Unity Engine to show you how to make your model into a VTuber avatar. A lot of the time spent is moving the sliders to 100% for the blend shapes.
This video is more for demonstration purposes since I won't really be using Koko's model as an Avatar as much as my current.
    VRM package you'll need:
    github.com/vrm...
    Click on UniVRM-x.xx.x_f9ee.unitypackage
The site I used for the Blend Shape names:
    malaybaku.gith...
If you want to commission your own model:
    meishyu.carrd....
    OR
    ko-fi.com/mash...
You can also donate there :)

Everything is the same for me up until I bring the VRM file back into Unity. It comes in as a VRM instance instead of the VRM Meta (Script) as this video shows. So I can't get to the Blendshapes part where I define the shape names from the list and tie them to the Blendshape Sliders at 100%. Am I supposed to use a different import setting? Also, can you tell me which version of Unity and VRM exporter you are using? Maybe that is my issue I am trying to do this with a 2023 version instead.

You might be exporting your model with a modifier. Blendshapes unfortunately don't export if you have modifiers.
Unsure if I mentioned that in the video, but if it's not that, let me know and I'll try coming up with another solution.

@@MashuStar hmm, I don't remember adding any modifiers. Just an imported FBX from Maya that has the Blendshapes on the head mesh. I do see the blendshapes listed in the fbx but once I make the VRM file it only comes in as VRM instance once imported back into Unity. I am trying to do this with 2023 Unity.. and I noticed VSeeFace said it must be exported with 2019.4.31f ... Do you know the version of Unity and VRM export you used for this vid? Might be some version issues. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll make a desktop camtasia capture later today I link it here so you can see how I am doing it and maybe see what I did wrong.

@@CaseyBenn-h1u ah, I'm unsure about Maya. I used blender for this. I am also not entirely sure what version of unity and univrm I used, but I think it might be the same as in Priichu's vtuber vid.

@@CaseyBenn-h1u I would still post that video so I can see and maybe help though.

@@MashuStar I tried installing Unity 2019.4.31f version with the VRM .99 version and I am getting the same Metadata in your video vs just the instancing label I was before. I will continue with this and see if I can finish it now.
