They are making some seriously cool guitars and bases!
Going too Awesome instrument
Not only is everything about the guitar awesome, but it seems to have wrestled anew style out of you! I've seen hundreds of your videos and I swear I saw and heard some things I had never heard yet. Pretty cool! I'm giddy to see where the pricing lands on these. I'll be shocked if they're less than$4000.
Absolutely beautiful guitar, aesthetics, and tones. I have one concern regarding the pyramids - It could become a dust bunny labyrinth. And, what happen if you drop you pick inside the guitar - will you ever get it out? Darrell - can you do a lost pick test? Also, are you able to determine the resonant frequency of the guitar body, and see if indeed
the guitar is balanced around those notes? I would also love to see the pyramids applied to the inside of an acoustic guitar (before and after test). Thanks
That guitar is a work of art. The finish is beautiful. You are so right about the crimson...gold and black. Nice 5 piece neck and the back of the guitar is beautiful. It looks amazing.
They don't even have a simple website, just a bunch of pictures on Instagram? Edit: OK, they do.
It's the lesser known companies that have the most surprising and underrated gear I believe! Always a pleasure tuning in to see these brought into the limelight!
You mean 'overrated'.
That thing went from sounding like an acoustic to a fender strat then a tele and all the way to ibanez. What a versatile setup!
Lace SENSORS
5:45 realizes he's playing stairways to heaven and instantly changes it
"Denied!"
Aah, it could happen to anyone!
Should have scrolled before I typed my comment lol. Glad people caught it.
Yep he was
Did it on purpose.
I saw what you did there. Tried to sneak in the forbidden riff by changing a few notes. Well it sounded pretty awesome, not gonna lie.
I was also waiting to see if he finished it. He wisely chose not to. Lol
I'm in love with this one instantly because of hollow body with SSS config and hardtail bridge, sadly a rare combination
I don’t have enough money for you to keep showing me these bad boys
thing is he shows off probably more $100 guitars than anything and they tend to be pretty amazing guitars (which double in price the second they hit his channel lol)
I am not worthy...LOL
The most beautiful guitar I’ve seen on your show. The sound was amazing,so clean and powerful. The guitar is a work of art and looks wonderful to play.
That’s one of the most gorgeous finishes I’ve seen on a guitar in a long time
Huh, I never realised how cool a guitar neck without inlays looks like. Great review man!
One of the guys I jam with has a Parker like that. When he starts jumping around in different keys, I hate the thing, I can never tell where he is at. Of course he could think about doing all his jamming in the key the song is in also.
@@barbmelle3136
(LMAO) - I apolgize...
I am exactly that guy.
@@barbmelle3136 Lol...
None of my guitars have inlays other than a tree of life on a J. Custom, check Mayones guitars to see beautiful modern guitars without inlays!
Probably on the top of the neck.
Absolutely love these single width lace pickups. Wouldn’t change a single spec. It was a fantastic review and really enjoy the unique instrument designs you bring to the channel. Thanks!
@Darrel Braun Guitar, I gotta confess: your playing, in all aspects (dynamics, versatility of style, ability to play like telling a story) is why I watch your videos for. (All the other stuff is also cool, don't get me wrong.) Guys like you make people like me pull a guitar from the wall to practice. Thank you for these little but important things!
The most beautiful guitar I've seen in a long time. I love the work some of the small builders are doing. Very creative stuff. Merry Christmas, Darrell.
Love the matching covers. Makes it look so clean, especially the spectacular walnut back. Sounds as good as it looks. Will definitely check them out.
Stunningly beautiful and sounding guitar.
Amazing craftsmanship.
Thanks for sharing this one with us.
Thank you so much for doing this Darrell! Danijel is such a nice person and great guitar maker. Met him in October 2016 in Berlin at Holy Grail Guitar show. Wonderful and unique instruments as well. Glad you liked it.
What a piece of beauty, that has got to be the best looking and possibly the best sounding work of art and craftsmanship I have ever seen, of course I will never be able to afford one.... thanks for the review, and the great playing.
I had to stop the video midway to comment on the sound. Absolutely gorgeous sound, and the guitar is near a piece of art. This one would stay home with me!
Hi, Darrell. I find your site to be the most informative on what's happening in the world of recent guitars. You're also informative on familiar guitars. Thanks.
I’ve been thinking of a guitar like this for months, I’m stoked someone actually made one
Yup, this one just screams "high end!" Gorgeous all the way around.
This guitar is not only beautiful but also has a unique sound. Love it...
I found them a year ago while searching for a semi hollow 7 string. And they are the ONLY ones i found so far. Also nice guys who respond on Instagram very quickly.
Great to see them on your channel Darrell!
Right off the bat, I here a very clean, very sweet sound. 2 min in and I sold already. That is a keeper.
Great looking guitar and workmanship. Good on you for promoting lesser known guitar co's, Darrell... one reason why I'm a big fan of your channel. Keep on keepin' on.
Made in Croatia and sold for extremely affordable prices. That is one beauty of a guitar, probably the most beautiful I have ever seen. Amazing sounds as well. Thanks for this video. I may not ever own one but I can look at this regularly and dream.
What an awesome guit! Thanks for taking the time to introduce us to it. Appreciate it!
Pos 4 and 5 clean tone is to die for. Has to be one of, if not the best tones I have ever heard.
I have a strat with lace sensor golds and it doesn't sound like that.
@@ChrisRash Those are Hot Golds... and the semi hollow construction surely makes a difference. And the circuit too, probably.
@@TheChzoronzon I think they are golds. The hot golds are a matte black color. Golds are a gloss black.
@@ChrisRash I think you are right, lol, my bad
@@TheChzoronzon No worries. I wish the golds in my guitar sounded as nice as these.
Hey Darrel I would love it if you did a review for some one of the higher end Harley Benton guitars (Fusion series). There’s almost no reviews of them, and the few that are there are not nearly as good as the way you do reviews. The Harley Benton stuff is super interesting, their guitars look fantastic and are very inexpensive.
Thanks for all the work you put into these reviews and videos. Awesome stuff.
True I'm curious about them too
@@TheChocolateChamp Got my first HB a 335 semi hollow just a month ago I am impressed beyond belief at the quality of this guitar I would change nothing not even the tuners just the strings of my liking. I am buying the Fusion series in a few months.
I bought the Harley Benton CST-24 which is basically a PRS copy. Was very skeptical even after watching several reviews. Happy to say that it's now one of my regular player guitars, and I have some top brands In my collection. Can't be beat for the money. Had to do just a tad bit of set up, but that's true with lots of top brand instruments in my experience.
Orvil Farley Yeah, but it's not true of PRS...🤨
(LoL!).
Orvil Farley Sorry Orvil! You walked straight into that one!! 🤣 PRS: The Co. famous for *not* needing a setup out of the box...!
(I'm not knocking your HB, I hope it's wonderful! 👍)
Beautiful guitar. Thanks for sharing. I love the look of those woods. Why I could never be a builder. If I created something that beautiful, I could never part with it.
I placed custom build order with Wreck recently, through their North American Distributor Pyramid Guitars, out of Memphis TN (I highly, highly, recommend them!). Pyramid Guitars and Wreck have been absolutely amazing through the whole process so far. There was extensive and fulfilling conversation to determine the exact specs I was after, and they paid attention to every little detail. Wreck is creating a truly unique build that hits everything I love about classic and modern guitars simultaneously. They make you feel incredibly valued as a customer, provide some wonderful updates, and reach out to collaborate with you along the process. I absolutely cannot wait to have my hands on the final guitar.
Fantastic sounding!!! The whole guitar from the look right to the sound just blows me away.
Beautiful craftsmanship from Wreck + Really nice tones too! Thanks for sharing Darrell :)
Wow! Both fantastic guitar and playing Darrell!
Aaaah! Just as I thought I was over my GAS... Great playing as always Darrell. Thanks for the demo.
Hey Darrell! Another thing I like about your videos is that your introduce me to new guitar manufacturers that I'm not familiar with. Thanks for that, this one looks really sick!
When the video first started, before the close-up of the f-holes, I thought it looked like there were oyster shells glued on there, standing up! I thought, "Wow, maybe some interesting sonic reflections... But wouldn't it smell?!" Glad to find out that they're metal pyramids, lol!
beautiful guitar & the clean tones have so much character
Darell super refreshing to see these small builders ....very nice nice watching you play as well thank you !!!!!
I don’t play guitar at all but love this channel Darrell.
I love my music and know a great sounding instrument....and that is a GREAT LOOKING and GREAT SOUNDING instrument.
Every setting you played made a difference in the sound.....10/10.
WOW! Stunning, amazing sound. You just need that one! Tone combinations are endless.
I like the idea of shaping the innards to mold the sound, really nice finish too!
I really like this concept of showcasing lesser known guitars. Thanks for doing this!
You can hear everything super clear.....beautiful guitar....!
I do have 2 Wrecks : one BlueMorpho 8 strings guitar custom and an insane Hope 6 bass full custom. This builder make a fantastic job. Really high end quality.
Beautiful guitar! You keep bringing great content to your channel. Cheers!
Well done D! Great to give some love to Small Builders! Nice Guitar, Thanks for sharing brother!
Be Well!
MY NEW DREAM GUITAR. I never would have found this guitar without you.. thanks!!!
Anything with Lace pups sounds crystal cool. But this stunning instrument is the Bees Knees!
Want one.
Nice playing too Darrell as always (from one Daryl to another...).
Love your channel Darrel!! This guitar is beautiful! I was kinda expecting to not like the pickups, as I typically prefer non noise canceling single coils. But these sounded remarkably sweet and articulate. The #4 position had some nice quack to it. You do a really nice job of inspiring interest in the great qualities of these instruments while still being honest about their shortcomings. This guitar just seems amazing. Great review!!
This beauty just blew my mind! It’s like a mix of classic yet modern recipe with those memorable “Quack like” tones from the 2 and 4 position and do i detect a harmonic Woman” tone at somepoint?👀 This for sure is a more modern take on a superstrat design with those single coils but with a modern feel . I’ll always stick with my LuLu(Strat) but i might have to consider buying one of these beauties! Great video again Darell!
Beautiful guitar. Incredible attention to detail! Even the wood control cavity on the back looks like it is the actual wood they cut out for the cavity and the wood grain on it matches the body. Now THAT is detail!
Man, that thing sounds amazing (and looks amazing too). I'm pretty impressed how QUIET it is on high gain stuff between notes. None of the usual background noise, and I'm assuming you're not running through a noise gate or anything like that? Really sharp looking instrument, and I would imagine they're not cheap (haven't looked at pricing on them)😉👍
2450$ that one, 1600$ the less fancy models with same tech
Well Darrell I love this guitar mate. My first guitar was a Kasuga Les Paul copy which was about that colour with gold pick ups etc. I now have a 1980s Strat and I play blues. However, I would love to have a guitar like this because it looks dramatic, is massively stylish and sounds incredible, as well as having those Kasuga styling cues. There’s something completely thought out about this guitar that works. Thanks for the demo mate. Subscribed.
A real beauty! Always good to look at a masterpiece, compliments from the Netherlands and thanks!
That is one beautiful guitar! Strong work, Wreck Guitars!
wow, mindblowing quality and sound. really universal, you can play metal and sultans of swing on just this one axe....thanks Darrel....
What an amazing instument, thanks for sharing with us... Great video as usual.
I watch these reviews to hear your playing as much as the interesting guitars - REALLY TASTEFUL! Now the Wreck guitar is EXTRAORDINARY!!!! BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY WAY! And the sound from my speakers is beautiful, even, pleasant, very listenable, I don't care if it's for metal guys! LOL!!! I'm going over to their site right now!
Great review and sounded great!
Gorgeous guitar!
I'm not convinced semi hollow electrics really matter once plugged in but I like my gretsch for unplugged practice
Man Darrell. That axe is just Gorgeous. And sounds Fantastic.
WOW! What a magnificent guitar, both visually and acoustically.
It’s great that you can review these guitars. This is definitely something nice to have in the collection. You don’t need to worry about your voice when your guitar can do the talking. 👍
Wow that demo was amazing! Huge king crimson vibes!
THAT is nice! Somebody has spent some time on a CNC Mill.
I also like seeing the Lace pickups being utilized in this. Once the sort of "fad" over Lace pickups seemed to come to an end a couple years ago (and the Fishman over-hype train left the station) it felt a little like much of the trend-following/ bandwagon jumping sentiment had turned against Lace pickups. As with every pick up I have ever heard, they have their ideal uses and applications, acceptable range of applications, and some places, some instruments, where they don't quite fit in, just don't sound good (EMG 81, 85 in a 68 Strat, Fishman Fluence humbuckers in a 59 Les Paul, Tele pickups in a 335, you get what I'm saying). Having these Lace pickups in this guitar works exceedingly well, as they are thick enough, warm enough, meaty enough, and obviously bright enough, that they are a perfect complement to the look of the guitar, and the woods being used (oh, but, woods don't matter, I almost forgot, sorry).
I'm new to your channel, but I really like checking out instruments built by very small craft instrument builders, like myself, so I'll be on the lookout for more videos like this on your channel. Who knows, maybe someday in the near future I'll see one of mine on your channel. Take care.
I'm getting a Wreck built right now, and I'm getting to see the whole process in picture and video updates. What's crazy is Danijel doesn't use a cnc router for these guitars. All of these pyramids are routed with a hand router and jigs, and then cleaned up and finished with a chisel. He's incredibly meticulous and talented.
This is why I love this channel. Beautiful guitar!
Cool guitar! Thought it was Schecter at first! Looks like one of their ones from the past ! They made a bass like that too! Thnx Darrell!
What a breath of fresh air..finally some quality innovation...gorgeous and well thought out...thanks so much for finding and sharing.there was no mention of pricing in your vid though..just wondering
2450$ a steal imho
Gee!! I'll take TWO! 😆 It is stunning looking but that's a healthy chunk of cake..many fine makers in that range!
Beautiful build and attention to detail. I can only dream of having one. More power DB, love watching your guitar reviews.
Wow this is so sensitive and i bet very easy to play.
The sounds are definitely very pronounced and impressively responsive and the sound is balanced, clean, pure and powerful.
Its nice to hear the weight is balanced also.
Looks is unimportant over sound quality, playability, and responsiveness. But... it does look very impressively awesome also.
Wow. What a player this time.
Looks like an extreme winner.
*Superb quality all the way around*
Its about time someone shows the commercial lines of products, of their self induced shame.
Darrell you are a really skilled guitarist. You seem to have such an effortless approach utilizing many techniques. Great stuff.
Thanks man!!
Amazing sounds in all conditions! Wow!
"It's Darrell here" spoken quickly, with your accent, sounded to my aussie ears like: "Sterile here" :)
Funny, it makes me think of The Great White North, eh.
It's a beautiful guitar. The woods look amazing. I think the pyramids on the inner back are a gimmick, though.
They may be but they look awesome and the rest of it is good enough... I don't know the price though but I don't think you'll get anything with specs like this at any price
Darrell should have tested if it has any affect at all on the infamous hollow body feedback. If so, then it would be actually be quite brilliant.
@@psykoklown874 or it would be very close to a solid body with weight reduction.
Bringing great attention to a company I haven’t heard of before. Definitely surprised me of the quality but now I need to look up pricing to see what tier brings that much detail!
Good review though and thanks for the content!
That one, 2450$. Less fancy models but the same tech, around 1600$S retail. More than reasonable for the quality and craftmanship
that whole guitar is a beautiful piece of luthier artistry
Hi Darrell this is a Great guitar. His website needs to be updated with his current guitar builds. Amazing and very talented builder. Thanx again for ur awesome reviews !
Solo was beautiful, awesome playing !!
That bridge pickup sounded really pleasing clean, which caught me by surprise! Beautiful looking and sounding instrument!
Greetings from Ecuador, Darrell!!
I hope you enjoyed your stay!
Love that sound. So unique and original.
The guitar is amazing.
Looks amazing too.
Whatever the guitar is, if it is in your hands it will always be awesome.
What a great sounding, heart-stoppingly, beautiful guitar!
I want one so much it hurts.
Bet I can't afford one though.......
Thanks for bringing it to us, Darrell.
This is just sweet as. Love the look, attention to detail, sounds great too! Great work!
Definitely one of the most stunningly beautiful guitars I've ever seen. Many of the features were impressive, also. That said, I was generally underwhelmed by its sound. It did manage to do a very nice impression of an acoustic (I was surprised that you didnt comment on that, in fact) and the lead sounded like an adequate Strat-ish sound.
They should spend some time coming up with better pick ups.
Overall, I'd probably leave it in it's stand to impress people, while playing something else, unless I wanted an electric to play on a traditionally acoustic song. I'm betting it's not cheap either. Thanks for the info. I'll look into the humbucking models, but who uses a semi-hollow body for metal? Doesn't sound right to me.
You look pretty alone on that feel, judging from the rest of the comments. Imho, it sounded really nice
Hey Darrell, check out there two other great small builders:
Nazangi Stromgitarren (Model Thara) and Unicut guitars, both are from Germany.
Danijel (I hope I spelled it right) from Wreck Guitars builds great stuff! Discovered him a while ago, but I could not get my hands on one of his guitars yet.
that is a stunningly beautiful guitar, wow and the tones are amazing, I would love to own one of these unique masterpieces.
OK, one of the Top of my List!
I contacted Danijel, and the one Darrell played is about 2200€, with a 2-3 month lead time from Europe! Would be really worth it I think! On my list!
Wow. those overdrive tones sounded amazing!
gorgeous guitar. the pickups sound amazing!
Such a beautiful sound coming out of this guitar
I saw blue morphos in the Atlantic Forest in Brazil. 👍🏻😁
This guitar sounds like it’d be great for funk.
great looking and sounding guitar. thanks for presenting all these amazing stuff :-)
This guitar's beautiful. I've never wanted to take a bite out of a guitar till now
From Leo: I like that guitar, the internal weight relief/semi hollow design is remarkable. I love the roller bridge and the straight pull head stock.
Really cool guitar. It kind of looks like a modern Rickenbacker.
I used to love those gold Lace Sensors. Great pickups in their day...first thing to really get close to single coils while being noiseless and very well shielded.
This is one of the most beautiful guitars I've seen!
Beautiful guitar! Great sound, awesome design. I am in love.
The pyramids acoustically absorb the string tones into the back layer of wood, which will add to the sustain and frequency response of the guitar overall. An interesting concept. Not sure how much I like the cutaway, but the rest seems pretty awesome!
WOW! Darrell that guitar is absolutely stunning! Both in looks and in sound, fabulous,... now where's my lottery ticket?.... 😅
