As a Finn I'm always so happy how much love and publicity Twoset gives Sibelius. This simple piece was always played by my mother at home, almost every week at some point. She passed away last year so now listening to it is bittersweet but I'm so glad so many Twoset fans have been introduced to this piece now. It is magical.
Yasin, sorry to hear about your mother, hope you and your family are ok. I'm here too because TwoSet mentioned this piece on one of their vlogs. I love discovering music. This piece sounds gorgeous.
This piece gives me a warm feeling yet a cold, lonely nostalgia that I cannot shake. I'm grateful I was... born. Born to witness this. To enjoy the creations of the world. Have a wonderful day, viewer.
I am not a professional musician but I can feel Sibelius’s influence on Russian composers of late Soviet era. I can feel his unique elegant style in many compositions and songs and in some I even hear plain plagiarism.
I'm not terribly familiar with the geography of Findland but what I do remember is that Mr. Sibelius was born in the oldest inland municipality in southern Findland said to be the place of serene lakes. I have a strange idea that for trees are plentiful to see in that area. Even moreso that the poetic composer may often have sat gazing at the play of gentle to strong winds rustling through the branches of the majestic firs. And listening to this pleasant rolling melody inclines me more to believe that the winds he saw were more the gentle and soft
This is a very good example for composition and music theory students on how Romantic Composers embellishes the descending fifth sequence. Absolutely gorgeous!
@@franceskinskij well, i suppose late romantic or postromantic he did live to the 1950s but stopped composing in mid 1920s, his harmonic language is also quite old fashioned (although he still had his unique harmonies) for that time
Twoset here but as a fellow pianist myself, I can say that you pull this off flawlessly. I haven't learned this piece myself but your playing was fantastic. Hope you keep on striving!! Good luck!
Понравилась трактовка исполнения. Многие исполнители "бегут" за темпом, виртуозностью. Это прочтение мне ближе. Глубина, философия, сожаление и надежда вместе. Спасибо!
The Sapin Op. 75 No. 5 is an extraordinary musical composition that captivates listeners with its enchanting qualities. Its simplicity belies its profound ability to evoke intense emotions in human hearts. In fact, this piece possesses such depth and intricacy that it may be played by any child, yet only a few have the capacity to truly feel and experience its power. Hence, it stands as a testament to the genius of its creator, a massive masterpiece in every sense of the word. The Sapin Op. 75 No. 5 is a composition that transcends time and place, casting a spell on those fortunate enough to encounter its melodic charms. Its delicate and evocative notes weave a tapestry of emotions, transporting the listener to a realm of tranquility and introspection. With every chord and cadence, this piece creates a harmonious dialogue between the performer and the soul of the listener.
the correct title of the piece is actually Le Sapin, or in English: The spruce. I suspect the person who recorded this got their copy of the score from IMSLP where whoever engraved the 5th piece erroneously mixed the French and English titles (mixing the articles.) If you look at the complete score it is correctly entitled: Granen - The spruce - Le sapin.
What a great performance! I am a student studying movies in Korea. I want to insert the music of this video into the short film I made. Will it be okay? I will definitely reveal the source of the performer in the ending Cradit :)
Ngl, why does the level of the piece matter too much? With enough practice, you shouldn't need to know how hard it is. I mean, this point goes up to an extent, but that is when you get into extremely complex things like concertos and longer pieces...
I had lost almost all heart and hope... and then, through a hole in a blown out cave, I walked in, and behold! A beautiful woman with wings and a fairy wand appeared with this heavenly tune being played on her celestial harp. I tried to approach slowly out of respect and reverence, but being so desperate for life, I ran towards her while she floated upon the glistening water... the water of life. She just smiled and bathed me in the water. A water so warm and invigorating that I wanted to draw in as much of it as I could, but alas, she wished me farewell having saved my life, and all I could offer her were some gems and a butterfly net. Upon exiting the cave, I was transported back to the Light World, and turning around, lo and behold my sweet princess was waiting with arms opened to greet me. Someday, I'll make her my wife, and we'll be wed within the fountain of life among the Fairies. ---- Signed, Link
@Si Gil. I agree. No disrespect for this performance, but I prefer this one better. I like the rhythm better as well as accenting the melody and bass line. I discovered this piece/performance several years ago and fell in love with it. I used to play the Romance in D flat in my youth and loved the beauty of Sibelius' style of these 'salon' type pieces. A beautiful balance of a piece being challenging to learn, yet not overly demanding, yet impressive to listen to. ruclips.net/video/cyHb9bkxl3k/видео.html

Hello, I’m ten years old. I'm playing this piece on the piano right now. I’m from Czech Republic. Beatiful piece❤🎉
good luck with the piece! it's not a great idea to tell people online your age, especially when you're young. just a tip.
It reminds me a little of Tchaikovsky April from "The Seasons", which I played in the past.

Thanks to Eurythmy School in Jarna, Sweden, where we moved this piece for the first time in 2015 and I fell in love with it.
This is so good...

This is not the "sapin" but the "mélèze" (larch) ; somebody translated wrong and the whole world has kept on repeating the same mistake for years !
Shades of LaLa Land?

So much rubato. The rhythmic phrasing just falls and dies.
