The FX30 was set on 5600K and you can see the warm color cast of the Sirui 24mm. It's about 4900k on a 5600k light. It's similar color cast to the 7artisans 35mm cine lens and adds to the overall "filmic" look. It's an easy fix in camera or in post if you want a true white balance. One thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t have a constant squeeze factor. And I HATE that the laowas make your aspect ratio a 266 🤦🏻♂️ Those lenses werent made for 16x9 sensors. Crazy.
@@VictorLaforteza ya. I’ve been waiting and waiting for a true great anamorphic for the Sony mirrorless, but I’m starting to think that it’s just gonna have to be a camera swap kind of thing for what I want. The laowas are perfect, but... only for non-16x9 sensors.
The link is down as the emoji is part of it. Pulling it out of the code, it'll work again. Lovely video btw. Romantic vibe as the relationship between the lady and you as POV was implied and came through, it felt closer to a "tree of life" vibe vs B-Roll.

So i'm actually a director for a show thats coming out in 2023, and we are using sony for our choice of cameras, and opted in for the SIRUI Full Frame anamorphics, one cause it saves hella money for production and two I personally love the look of the lenses, they are amazingly sharp but still feel broken(aka the distortion) and paired with a film emulation like the kodak one you used in this video the style is so unique that it was loved across the board from the creative team.
We’re truly at a time where filmmaking is reachable in all budget levels! Sirui does the job on cheaper options that have character. So glad to hear they were used on a show!! Link me when it’s out! I would love to see the end result 😍
@@VictorLaforteza Will do so, we've just started production a few weeks ago, cause im extremely excited to get this show out for its story but mainly for up in coming film makers cause if we can pull this off, this will show thats its possible even at a "affordable level" plus that would give credibility to SIURI just so much more.

I loved it when you see the shot out of camera then transition to the final results!. Beautiful stuff, my friend!
Nope it look like 720p fully compressed video by night. It's disgusting considering the price. And also considering they have the A7SIII sensor to do soooooooooo better shot by night... Almost as good as RED and Arri. What a shame. They put a ASP-C sensor... What a shame. Can't wait for a FX compact camera with the A7SIII sensor. I will rock the cinema making business. A lot more than the FX3 (just used in Creator movie).

It allows 1.3x de-squeezing and a couple of other sizes. I'm planning to get this camera so I've been watching a lot of reviews and it was talked about in a more recent one
About to purchase the FX30 as a B cam, with an anamorphic lens. And also an anamorphic lens for our C70. Debating 24 and 75 Sirui. Probably getting one for one camera, and the other for the other camera. And get diopters. Primary use is nonprofit corporate, and low end documentaries.
I have watched your intros on repeat for hours... It feels like it's when the food critique from ratatouille finally takes a bite out of the final dish and has the flashback of childhood memories being unlocked. Thank you for creating beautiful content - You have resurged my inspiration
The distortion is honestly one of my favorite parts of the anamorphic lenses. They have a beauty to them that was only able to be used by Hollywood movies.
I am late to this but: if you aren't aware - Desqueeze (1.3x and 2.0x) was added in the latest firmware update for the FX30 - no external monitor needed now
The problem is that it makes a nice big computer monitor or television look small. You waste so much of the screen to black. My TV has a 16:9 aspect ratio. My computer monitor has a 16:9 aspect ratio. So, shooting in 16:9 mode makes use of the full screen on both devices... making the picture look larger and more detailed.

Price point is awesome, and the shots are stunning! In my opinion, the only issue I see is the push for vertical on social platforms like IG and even now youtube shorts. This type of lens won't meet most clients dumb request for verti only. So the average use of it will be almost obsolete. Annoying as it is, mosty viewers on platforms only respond to vertical, which is really sad for creatives in our film communities who appreciate the anamorphic glass. I've seen some of these lenses with internal rotating capabilities too, but i'm uncertain of the price points. We are losing the oppurtunities to showcase our horizontal shots more and more each day. Your shots are stunning, thank you for sharing!
Thank you Gregory! I do think there's still a lot of work for horizontal work especially for indie filmmakers / documentary shooters. Budget anamorphic is a great market but I understand where you're coming from. I had to shift mine to 50% vertical now since most of the brands I've worked with just wants more vertical deliverables. It's more work and time for both parties to do it right but gotta stay in business lol I wish we go back to everything horizontal or even square-ish aspect ratios.

I have a quick question. So since this has a 1.33 desqueeze, what aspect ratio does that make it in post with the FX30? I'm wondering because lets say I film some stuff with the anamorphic lens and some without, I would want to match the fake bars of my cine lens to the actual frame of the anamorphic just like you did at 3:50 lol
