Here is so much easier way. Get a 5 gallon food grade bucket. Put in equal parts, chicken feed and water and stairwell. You can add a splash of apple cider vinegar if you want to. Put the lid on doesn’t have to be tight. Stir it every day for 2 to 3 days. Then start feeding it to the chickens. When the bucket starts getting low on feed add equal parts feed and water again it will ferment overnight and you just keep it going. Couple times clean out the bucket completely and start over. Works with any kind of feed.
